Situation in a SC2 caster household: "Honey, will it be late today, since you gotta cast some quartfinals?" "Yeah probab...wait, its PvP, I am back in an hour!"
That game 3 was masterful from Stats, he just completely and utterly shut down the adept rush, and honestly, it didn't even look like a super hard strategy to pull off. Things I noticed: He built an early second nexus, but never transferred probes to it, nor did he ever let the adepts find any targets that they could actually kill. He was basically like, "ok, adepts can't really kill buildings or stalkers very well, so if I build stalkers, build an immortal and a prism, and then wall off my main base with a building shield battery when shades come up, I can expand without risking anything" And, well, it worked! Trap's adepts couldn't find anything they could kill all game, so he just traded adepts for stalker shields before retreating time after time, until stats overwhelmed. Stats lost 1 probe, 2 sentries, and 2 stalkers all game against a dedicated rush build. Wall of Auir looks like he's back, I'm happy to see it, Protoss is most fun when Stats is in charge of it.
Amazing game and AMAZING casting as always! But anyone else notice the casters just have foundation on that's not their skin tone at the end? lol, almost like they couldn't find western skin tone in makeup and was like "meh, this is the palest thing we got, slap that on there... good enough" XD might just be the lighting tho, keep up the awesome games!
if DRG becomes the champion, will he become the first player to be a GSL champion after military service ? or is there already a player that has done this thing ?
I dunno, against TY, I'm not so sure. The meta isn't favorable to protoss right now in late game, and stats isn't an aggressive player. TY just seems to always know what to do.
@@WitlessSod I'm protoss biased. Hehe. But some of the stuff ty did to parting I feel stats could have defended against. But I don't know ty enough. I just want stats to win. Hehe
@@thtupid I'm very happy for Stats and protoss. It was good to see a macro protoss do well given how late game has been rough for them in the last few years. I was surprised by how aggressive TY was. I expected him to be more patient and get into late game with ghosts and EMPs.
Strange! Group stages of this season were hyper competitive, with groups of death all over the place. Then RO.8 is just the opposite, one-sided scores in almost every match :O! WP Stats
