Yes, Where Dreams Begins is the same drama as Youth Memories. Strangely, one of the platforms changed the title in the middle of the release of the drama. Thank you for your reaction. It’s a very poetic story about the life of 6 friends whose lives are intertwined with each other. These friends met and found each other at the Ice Rink, which is Where their Dreams Began. In addition, they lived through the era of economic boom in Beijing, so it chronicles their lives starting as military brats and shows how through their different personalities and choices, their stories progressed and later ended.
This drama is really great. It starts from the period which was the end of culture revolution in China and it covers a long period of time. The characters are developing throughout the story and they feel alive, not fictional. The script is very good too. 😊
Ooohw great Xiao Zhan and Li Qin together again in movie/series 😍 , Li Qin is a good actress ...I've seen her in other dramas and in The Wolf also with Xiao Zhan 💖💖
It was so good to see them together in this drama. The Wolf had such a messy love triangle thing going on, but they're so cute and supportive in this ❤
This is one of my favourite dramas. The cast was all fantastic in it too. It follows a group of friends through approximately 30 years of their lives. Some characters you initially like change as they get older, and some whom you dislike at first become more sympathetic as time goes on. The characters feel very realistic. Xiao Zhan's character and his friends have mostly grown up in a military compound because their parents were soldiers. He and his best friend have dreamed to join the military together since they were little, and at that time it was the best career option. They cross paths with some other "kids" from outside the military who dont have many options career-wise during the 1970s because they aren't able to join the military. As the political and economic situation begins to change, suddenly their age group gets a lot more opportunities to branch out into other fields (for example, universities were reopened) One of my favourite characters actually doesn't make an appearance in these trailers. His name is Qi Tian and he was a "good for nothing" guy dabbling in crime at the beginning, but has big changes in his life throughout the course of the show. This drama is really touching and wonderful. Thanks for reacting! I really hope more people will watch it. It deserves so much more attention than the longest promise, in my opinion
My comfort drama❤ its been reruns for 15 times now, loved by chinese goverment and watched by people all ages. And the friendship between the actors was heartwarming❤ if you have time, you should watch it, recomended 100/10❤❤
FYI, XiaoZhan can skates pretty well. He used to be the ambassador of ice hockey for Beijing Winter Olympic. There's a show about him visiting the ice hockey venue and learning about the game. After the 2nd world war, because it's special turmoil situation they were forced to close up themselves from the rest of the world. They jumped from royal, noble and rich controlled to communism. As China was a densely populated with majority lack of education country at that time. It's very difficult to make real change . So, they unofficially classified jobs and skills with classes and beat down those involved in "bad" influences and tendansy. Minitary was the most respected. Farming was second. Manufacturing the third and private merchandising was prohibited. This story is about after many people were mistreated because of their family background/history, political, value and mentality difference and the extreme lacking of supply and materialistic. China decided to open up and cancel the bias of classification to treat everybody as equal .
At first, this series name is "Where dream begin" . But when WeTv launch , they change name to "Youth memory". 🙄 Lot of person complain because it make lot of person confuse☹. Google and some clip in youtube still use name "Where dream begin"📺📺
