I don’t think theres even any room to complain about the remakes of old missions, I used to replay the missions constantly so as a kid having those missions portably was a godsend and nowadays its a great archive of the classic missions since even if private servers exist they can’t exist forever
i played both DS games, and i think the ending of Herbert's Revenge is pretty good (just the ending and the prologue, cuz the other missions were all playable in the game, but with some very subtle changes) the concept of almost exposing the EPF with the statue, that giant magnifying glass on the tallest mountain and the island sinking and being all flooded is pretty cool, strange how they disguised the flooding as being simply a water party. Aaaand Bart Rojimans rocked this game's soundtrack too.
Honestly, the worst part about this game? Of all the missions they rehashed from the online game, why didn't they do CLOCKWORK REPAIRS? That was my favorite one! It even provides context for the giant drill Herbert has! Or what about the first 4? Man, if they're gonna just use the same missions, they could've at the very least given us ALL of them.
They used missions that herbert was a big part in, the clockwork repair mission was more focused in fixing the clock tower, herbert just kinda was the reason why it broke. You never stopped him in that mission
@@motherfortress2 To be fair, I'd argue that Mysterious Tremors and Operation Spy and Seek were more about doing other things, as well. I don't think Herbert's Revenge is a bad game at all. Elite Penguin Force is still my favourite by quite a big margin, but both are dear to me. Maybe it's nostalgia, but I don't mind.
I sadly have to agree, I played Herbert's Revenge for the first time just yesterday, and while it's not a *bad* game, I still felt kinda ripped off as a fan of Elite Penguin Force. Less missions, no exploration outside of missions, very few *original* missions, the minigames are less fun and are less in numbers, the optional parts are not worth going for to unlock, the only improvements I can really think from Elite Penguin Force are the music (especially the music when you're climbing the mountain, holy shit it's intense) and the dialogue being actually wittier and more fun than in its predecessor (especially the dialogue options your character can have, I even have screenshots of my favorite lines).
EPF is the DS game, right? I think I still have that. I’ve been craving the PSA and EPF missions recently but can’t remember how to get them (except for on NewCP, but I feel like something’s missing?)
Interestingly, despite it being loads of reused content - i remember enjoying this game way more than the other. I stil have them both and I kinda wanna replay them lmao
One of my favorite childhood memories was when we had a class about scientific names and the teacher asked if we knew what "Zea Mays" was. I was the one kid in that class that answered correctly and it was purely because of the last PSA mission where G said it was corn. I felt like such a smartass.
I think it sucks cause this game specifically was tied so close to the lore of the original game only to be lost eight years later. So anyone who wanted to pick it up, outside of what they tell you would not be able to experience everything this story had to offer. If I remember correctly they had the psa blow up in the main game and after this game Im pretty sure they had a party where clubpenguin was under water but I could be wrong on that. I also remember playing this game and thinking oh hey maybe that means Herbert and the penguins are friends. NOPE operation black out. Also as someone who did play the first ds game I was literally way too excited to have access to a room that you could only access through having the code that the first one offered only to have them retcon that and opened as a normal public room, I found it pretty dissapointing but I guess it fit with the story line they were going with. Over all I started up my old Herberts revenge the other day and was smacked in the face with how much of a period peace it was.
Say what you want about the "amazing maze" minigames, but at least they're better than what the original missions did. You had to pick between three paths in a very specific order. This is sstill a great game on account of you being able to hang out with Klutzy. He's best boy.
By the time I played this one I had learnt to not call my penguin my real name. Hence forth, I became Leozi. This is where I got my first pen name. It has now become Lowzi, because 2 vowels rolls off the tongue better than 3 :) This has nothing to do with the video as a whole just nostalgia XD

Some of them you've mentioned that you're lazy with these videos but it feels less like laziness and way more like jus a fun laidback ramble on some random shit. Quite badass if I do say so myself
19:46 I think because the game still thinks the statue is not set in place with the heavy anvil using purple puffle yet, and you actually have to use the white puffle twice separately before/after the heavy anvil. Definitely a glitch😂 Also, you can skip the mini games during missions if you're tired of playing them
3:57 You ain't talkin' trash on my boy Rookie 11:21 I just saw a video of every PSA mission and I think they do that because in the original you hover over the hat with your mouse to reveal giant propellors come out of it (it's also on the hat rack next to the other hat I guess they knocked it down to make it more easy which is valid especially without the visual hint)
This game came out when I was around 6, I don't remember much of it because it was 2/3 of my life ago but God that jackhammer game is ingrained in my mind, I don't know what it was about it but I just absolutely loved it
What's funny is that I didn't know you could become an agent in the original Club Penguin game. That detail must’ve gone over my child's brain, or they didn't explain how to become an agent. Either way, I happened to be one of those kids who did not know about Herbert (I learned about the PSA because of the 1st DS game, but only by name), and I definitely needed the context. However, I did feel like I was missing something due to the drill from the clock tower (which the remakes of the website provided me). Part of me wanted all the PSA missions on this game because this game was the only way to play the official Club Penguin missions. Still, part of me also wondered if there was a way for them to put all the PSA missions into 1 mission (like picking and choosing the missions you wanted to play). I think at least being required to play 1-3 of those missions would be fair, but then let the player decide if they wanted to continue playing these missions or not. I still love this game. 🙂
So d gamer was disneys player club where you can dress your avatar up with items obtained from other Disney games. In Spectrobes 1, you can see a trailer for the game and get a orange variant of on the the monsters and in the Alice in wonderland ds tie in game you got the mad hatter hat for your avatar
btw when you tried to use the coin transfer thingy the first part didnt work because Nintendo Wifi Connection (NWC) shut down in 2014 before cp, so there probably would just be an error code message and nothing saying like "oh waddle on club penguin is gone lmao"
If they were remaking old PSA missions, why couldn't they have done all of them? This game could've actually been pretty damn cool if it was possible to play all of them. At least then it would've had preservation of content as its justification for existing.
Some of than do existed on the online but a little different. I loved the PSA missions and know that other servers of club penguin exist and some even on my native language is very cool
I actually bought Herbert's Revenge first, then bought the original shortly after. My problem with Herbert's Revenge was that I couldn't connect to the internet on my DS due to "parental rules", so I had no way of getting rid of coins on EPF:HR since they removed the ability to explore the island outside of missions and the catalog features. When I got the original game and had all these features available pretty much from the get-go, I basically dropped Herbert's Revenge entirely and just played the original game instead. The only other thing I can say about it is that I got an EPF Phone-styled DS case along with EPF:HR. I don't have it with me anymore, but how cool is that?
Ivon: I hate that the game makes you play through this again. I already did it! Also Ivon: I'm gonna summarize it for those who haven't seen it! Not hatin' just sayin' 🤣
Soooo like really unpopular opinion. But i liked the second one more than the first one. I had my first experience with the DS game Herberts revenge and absolutely loved it. (A lot) Later on i found out that there was another ds game but when i played it it was kind of underwhelming. I dont know if it was because i played the second game first; or if was because i was older; maybe its because it was nothing new (since i played it later) whereas the second game everything felt so fresh ; maybe because the first i already had done/seen the missions (in the pc when i was a still a kid, wich i liked less for some reason?) The missions felt extremelly simple and short, whereas the second game there are puzzles that i still have some difficulty today (in the pc they were easier though lol). The most important thing is that in the second i really felt like one of the agents and climbed up, earned their respect, and the first one felt like i always felt like the hero? idk A few of my views on the video: I did think rookie was annoying by himself, but i thought he complemented well with the relationship and integrity of the team. Perhaps when i went to the first one it just felt a little bit empty and the relationships a bit stiff between these characters it made feel abit less for them. lol poor gary Its weird to me that the main argument here (not only in this video) has always been "but you could play it on pc!", but that seems a very strange argument to make as to review how good or bad the missions are, when the only and main argument is unrelated to a review to story, plot, character, relationships, development, gameplay, etc. I though the intention here is to see if its good, not how pointless it may be to buy it. Its like saying a movie is bad because you can just buy the dvd instead of going to the cinema -like, isnt that unrelated to the movie being good or bad? lol But one of the things that i do think were nice in the first game were full side quests. In the second we only have a few side quests that are unrelated to the main quest and they have close to no story. It IS annoying that you buy a product that you can basically have it for free, but related to the story or how enjoyable it would be? i heard nothing of the sort I think i get why a few missions from the introduction were annoying to someone who already knew what was going on. Maybe they could have done it differently and made it better for both experiences, but maybe if they did and skipped a lot of it, i wouldnt understand a much and not have gotten so invested in the story as i was. (I found it funny that you actually liked the submarine minigame, since it was the one that i didnt like lol) In general i think the second game felt more enjoyable, what ruins the experience is knowing you can play most of it for free (and non officially nowadays). The story felt better developed the characters too, the missiosn had more of a challenge and you felt a bit more part of the team, whereas the first one you felt more part of the game (wich i think its a good thing of the first game). I honestly wouldnt exactly recommend any of the games if you were to buy them back in the day (they wer what? 60 dollars?). But i do recomend them today, where i bought the first one for less than 4 dollars lol (it didnt have the case, with the cases they can be about 6-10 dollars or so )
Here from Plainrock124 and no other reason besides that, you only made this video to piggyback off of his success. Maybe you should try making your own video.
Y'know, even if it was nescessary the PSA missions for context and explain who Herbert is, it could easily just have The Secret of the Fur, Question for a Crab and Veggie Villain, it would explain who Herbert is, what happened to PSA and done, only 3 missions, not HALF of the game, which makes 7 new missions, they could even add 3 more to have the same quantity from the first game They seriously were very lazy regarding the new game
i don't really see herbert's revenge a bad game. more like a lazy game from rehashing some of the PSA missions and barely offering much original content. it's just disappointing to me how this game was made more so to retell half the plot of the PSA story instead of trying to be its own standalone sequel to the original EPF DS game or take place after the events of the PSA's fall.

The missions felt extremelly simple and short, whereas the second game there are puzzles that i still have some difficulty today (in the pc they were easier though lol).
The most important thing is that in the second i really felt like one of the agents and climbed up, earned their respect, and the first one felt like i always felt like the hero? idk
A few of my views on the video:
I did think rookie was annoying by himself, but i thought he complemented well with the relationship and integrity of the team. Perhaps when i went to the first one it just felt a little bit empty and the relationships a bit stiff between these characters it made feel abit less for them. lol poor gary
Its weird to me that the main argument here (not only in this video) has always been "but you could play it on pc!", but that seems a very strange argument to make as to review how good or bad the missions are, when the only and main argument is unrelated to a review to story, plot, character, relationships, development, gameplay, etc. I though the intention here is to see if its good, not how pointless it may be to buy it. Its like saying a movie is bad because you can just buy the dvd instead of going to the cinema -like, isnt that unrelated to the movie being good or bad? lol
But one of the things that i do think were nice in the first game were full side quests. In the second we only have a few side quests that are unrelated to the main quest and they have close to no story.
It IS annoying that you buy a product that you can basically have it for free, but related to the story or how enjoyable it would be? i heard nothing of the sort
I think i get why a few missions from the introduction were annoying to someone who already knew what was going on. Maybe they could have done it differently and made it better for both experiences, but maybe if they did and skipped a lot of it, i wouldnt understand a much and not have gotten so invested in the story as i was.
(I found it funny that you actually liked the submarine minigame, since it was the one that i didnt like lol)
In general i think the second game felt more enjoyable, what ruins the experience is knowing you can play most of it for free (and non officially nowadays). But i do recomend them today, where i bought the first one for less than 4 dollars lol (it didnt have the case, with the cases they can be about 6-10 dollars or so )
Novi is ivon backwards
Here from Plainrock124 and no other reason besides that, you only made this video to piggyback off of his success. Maybe you should try making your own video.
Y'know, even if it was nescessary the PSA missions for context and explain who Herbert is, it could easily just have The Secret of the Fur, Question for a Crab and Veggie Villain, it would explain who Herbert is, what happened to PSA and done, only 3 missions, not HALF of the game, which makes 7 new missions, they could even add 3 more to have the same quantity from the first game
They seriously were very lazy regarding the new game

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
CP
i don't really see herbert's revenge a bad game.
more like a lazy game from rehashing some of the PSA missions and barely offering much original content.
it's just disappointing to me how this game was made more so to retell half the plot of the PSA story instead of trying to be its own standalone sequel to the original EPF DS game or take place after the events of the PSA's fall.
