CBD works folks! I'm 76 with bad knees and have scheduled to have knee replacement surgery but in the meantime I tried the CBD salve and I can't believe the relief it's brought!! I'm rethinking my knee surgery now.
Before you have your knee surgery ask your surgeon2 questions 1st of all what's the worst possible outcome and second what is the chance of that happening to me Then think about taking more pills I wish I wish I had My doctors screwed up big time And I've been in pain 24 hours a day for years! You cannot undo the surgery if it screws up But you can stop taking the pills if you don't like them .
spot on... i am 65... make my own cbd gummies... without it my arthritis is severe... also use it for insomnia.... crazy that it took so long to become legal.....
My mother had bad arthritis in her knee, i used to rub cbd lotion on it and it help with the swelling. In turn reducing the swelling decreased the pain.
For what it's worth, I am an M.S. patient with neuropathy and fairly regular leg spasms if I over use my legs too much. I have used CBD in the past for the pain and stiffness, but never really saw any serious relief. In the end, my neurologist prescribed the synthetic THC (Nabilone) which did have an effect on the pain and neuropathy, but it came with side effects and that's where I am now. That's my personal experience and I'm not saying that CBD has no value, but THC is what is helping with my symptoms.
CBD oil wirh THC definitely works .i am 63 with worn out knees .I am waiting for knee replacements. I started taking cbd oil 5 months ago and wow what a difference. I can highly recommend this way of pain relief.
I'm 80. I have congenital scoliosis that is getting more painful as I age. I have tried just about everything the doctors have to offer. I use a topical CBD ointment that has proved to be THE most effective at pain management. It matters to me not at all if the relief is imaginary or real...the main thing is that for me It works to help relieve my back pain. One of the worse things you can get diagnosed with in the USA is chronic pain. The doctors are hesitant to prescribe anything that might help. I might as well eat jellybeans as take 50 mg Tramadol.
Yes, because of the Opiod crisis and the perception that chronic pain is somehow manageable without medication, doctors leave patents suffering with Tylonol or the like. Back pain, which I experience from time to time, you need something stronger. I may try a topical version of CBD.
@@ceciliawilson6328Absolutely well said. Ive had level 10 chronic pain from sciatica attack in March 2024. Today it is October 2024. Not one day in 8 mos have i lived without pain. Has totally altered my life, my job, my home. Everything.

I used CBD oil for anxiety. It did make me feel relaxed. It started messing with my mental health after a while so I stopped it. I started with 1/10 CBD oil to begin with then moved to 5/5 CBD oil for migraine. I started using the 5/5 too often and it messed with me. I think it’s a complex medication and should proceed with absolute caution.
About eight years ago I ended up with a herniated disc in my neck from an auto accident. I went for two years struggling with the pain. I tried everything over the counter that was available. I tried everything everybody suggested. But nothing gave me any relief. Then one day my primary care doc told me about hot hemp muscle rub. No cbd or thc just hemp oil. So I put some on my herniated disc and 20 seconds later I got the first actual pain relief in TWO YEARS. I always keep a tube handy for when I need it. It's easily obtained from Amazon...
You are exactly the type of client we've been helping for over 12 years. We hear success stories just like yours and its wonderful when people can take their lives back.
Used CBD oil, sublingual for chronic pain and osteoarthritis in my joints. Did not notice any reduction in my pain. It actually caused me to experience chest pain. After I stopped using it, the chest pains ceased. I enjoy your videos, you both crack me up😊.
I tried a CBD lotion on my shoulder for a painful torn rotator cuff and it was definitely effective in reducing the pain. (But because it was so expensive, I switched to Aspercreme with Lidocane which works, too - at a fraction of the cost.)
I use a full spectrum cbd salve on aching joints and it seems to help, but but maybe just the massaging is what helps. Need to check that out. BTW, I am 91 years old, not 91 years young, OLD,😀
you can massage with oil, and you will see a difference, altho Castor oil is super as well, i use both, CBD & castor, CBD drops to sleep better as well, good luck (from belgium)
I have had 12 spinal surgeries since a sporting injury in 1982. I have tried everything multiple times. CBD with or without THC did nothing. One thing that I did notice is that THC has a calming effects which reduces the stress associated with chronic pain and allowed me to sleep with fair consistency. I'm still waiting for the miracle drug. BTW: I also had multiple spinal cord stims implanted that caused far more problems than the benefit of a small percentage of my pain being masked. In the USA, THC in any form precludes you from being able to take any prescription pain med. So, I take a small dose of methadone (cheap, effective with no side effects) and go off of it every few months for a couple of weeks. I sleep in 1-2 hr segments averaging 4-6 hrs a day and try to be functional 3-4 days a week. The rest of the time I try to avoid being around anyone. Chronic spinal pain is a terrible way to live.
I tried CBD oil for hip pain and I didn’t experience any relief. I have no doubt it helps some people, but I think it depends on the type of pain and reasons for that pain.
Is really great for arthritis but does not last long. It is about the same as an Aleve for for me but shorter acting. I think it causes a hangover headache for me.
My 85 year old mother tried it for chronic pain control associated with knee replacement surgery and it didn’t do anything for her. She had this pain for months!!!!!
I do know that lots and lots of doctors now days are advising their patients to try not only cbd but also thc for things like pain and sleep and things of that nature. My very own primary doctor advised me to try it for back and leg pain because I’m disabled, I’ve had several back surgeries to try to help things but my problems are just getting worse and worse, I’m very close to another surgery very soon. Unfortunately for me, thc doesn’t work that way for me, it seems to just make me anxious and not much else.
I take one 1:5 THC:CBD gummy (10:50mg) and find the pain relief from chronic venous ulcers and osteoarthritis to be amazing. Yes, there is a small amount of buzz equivalent to having one drink of alcohol that lasts much longer but it is very mild. I started making my own CBD oil from a cannabis plant I grew in our vegetable garden but was unable to isolate the THC so I ended up making a topical cream for joint pain. When I combined the homemade cbd oil with magnesium chloride/water (using a lecithin binder) it vastly improved the pain relief for arthritis as it became transdermal. I don't think any of it is perfect, but it does provide tangible pain relief.
One of the biggest benefits is for treatment of Epilepsy, I have a friend who while on Doctor prescribed drugs suffered the severe side effects and still had seizures, she is now 5 years seizure free after dropping the chemical treatment and only taking CBD's, there is also a well documented case in the U.S. of a baby named Charlotte who suffered from non stop Grand Mal seizures and wasn't expected to live even to her first birthday. Her mother begged the government to let her go to Colorado to get a certain strain of CBD oil that was known to work for epilepsy, the government didn't care and threatened to jail her if she tried to bring it across state lines, she was forced to move there and, started the treatments which reduced the seizures to almost non existent and saved the child's life, the strain was named Charlotte's Web after the little girl.
CBD epilepsy treatment is interesting - love to hear more about receptors in central nervous system … it’s not regulated yet! it affects everyone differently !!!
I have daily migraines. I tried CBD w/o thc from several different companies. None of them worked. I then tried cbd in gummy and liquid form and they both had legal levels of thc for my state. I’ve gotten great relief from both forms. The liquid one works quicker while the gummies take longer. I take a strength that doesn’t get you high.
I've started taking CBD Oil to help manage the pain caused by endometriosis. I significantly decreased the other painkillers and anti inflammatories I was taking, and the pain I used to feel in the right ovary disappeared after a month of CBD. It didn't take all the pain away, but it helps a lot.
I posted my first thought before watching the entire video. So my 2nd question is what changes a supplement to a medicine and what criteria that makes the FDA look at it?
the most fascinating fact for me is that despite all the other natural remedies like vitamins, supplements etc are not even studied or regulated. Now we all understand that trying to regulate Supplements is just not worth the cost$$$ of studying it. but Since Cannabis is being used every where and legal is so many places its worth looking in to. But isn't it a lot like asking what benefits there is in Hops, should we drink beer?
3:15 Great discussion, but it's worth noting that while definitive large-scale RCTs on CBD are limited, there are studies showing promising results. For example, research in *The Journal of Pain* highlights CBD's potential in pain management, though outcomes vary based on dosage and condition. Similarly, small RCTs have shown CBD's promise for anxiety, as noted in *The Journal of the American Pharmacists Association*. The mixed results reflect a need for more rigorous studies, not a lack of efficacy. Let’s keep pushing for better research to uncover CBD's full potential!
there are lots of 'percentage' in the CBD, you can try lighter percentage, like one drop of lighter 3X a day or so, carefully, it's so good (in my life) & want to share it! :)
I use mj for pain......I cannot take it in oil form. I am 76 and use for pain and try for sleep.....but have to take melatonin etc. To get any sleep whatsoever. I am Canadian. Have good dispensary nearby. Linda
I am an orthopedic surgeon. I recommend to my patients that they try a TOPICAL CBD cream for their arthritis pain. It works very well for arthritis of the hands, knees and feet. Does not work as well for hip pain. We did a study in Colorado showing that CBD works much better with THC when used in a topical cream/salve. The TOPICAL salve I recommend is made in Telluride, CO by a company named Mary Jane Pharmaceuticals called the Nano Salve
I have Diabetic neuropathy in my legs and arms, hands, and feet really bad. I let my diabetes out of control (370 BS). I have it under control through dieting. Low 100-120's now, no medication. I am on 2400 mg of gabapentin, but it wasn't stopping the pain, I was sneaking more gabapentin, to my nurse and doctor's horror. I did some research and read where CBD (not THC) will stop the pain. So I ordered some, WOW, big difference. Pain is mostly gone, only a little bit in the toes, but when I take my medication and supplements (CBD) the pain will go away.
People expect it to work straight away, took about 2 weeks for me, but it's worked wonders for me, I was put on pregabalin for my back problems by the hospital pain clinic, the pharmaceutical was a nightmare for me , so many side effects, but CBD OIL has done the same for me, plus use a Tens machine as well. 😊
After 20 years of taking a prescribed anti-inflammatory with an over the counter analgesic, gradually and ever increasing dosages - my body said no more. Small stomach ulcers galore, reflux, liver issues, blah blah blah - switched to CBD oil and CBD vape. Anecdotally, the side effects of pharmaceuticals cleared up, pain was managed quite well and without psychoactive side effects.
I'm glad some people believe it helps them. I live next to a farm in Colorado that used to grow this stuff. It stunk throughout the neighborhood. They were robbed twice, then started putting armed men in the center of the field at night. I'm thankful it's back to being a vegetable farm.
Over the counter CBD oils is a no. But homemade CBD oils does. I use CBD oil externally. 1 to 2 drops on my skin before bedtime. It does make me sleepy. I make my own and it does contain THC and I use liquid coconut oil. I grow my own cannabis too to make it. I don't smoke cannabis tho. If I forget to use it for a few days, My arthritis lets me know about it. Since I've been using it I have no arthritis pain.
I have spasticity (for past 2.5 years and CBD is useless. Only THC works but them I am stoned. I want to try Spravato. It works I am told for pain. Not available in Manitoba. Only Ontario, BC and Alberta.

I’m a fan and when ppl are deseperate for relief with long covid insomnia and anxiety and pain . it helps my dog too with anxiety . thx for covering this - here in Portland Oregon it’s accessible and no negative stigma . I recommend the company Wyld is what i recommend but everyone is different ☀️
My youngest sister was diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer. She had people telling her to try CBD to ease her discomfort/nausea that she was experiencing from her chemo and radiation treatments. She decided to give it a try, but in her case, that was a huge mistake! She only put one drop of it onto her tongue and immediately started to go into anaphylactic shock! She had to be rushed to the hospital! For what it's worth, she had also developed severe allergies to other things, one of which was morphine. She would go into anaphylactic shock immediately when exposed to these things, and the allergy to morphine was discovered before she came down with the cancer. If anyone is wondering, her cancer went into remission for about four years. We were hoping that she was going to be okay, but she contracted COVID, got pneumonia from that, and was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer shortly afterwards. We lost her about a year after that.
from the people I have spoken to, there is plenty THC (or whatever) left in the CBD being sold around here. A couple of those have extensive experience for comparison

Good morning I’m living with Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) type III since the age of 4. In excess of 50 factures, with rodding performed at Sick Kids at age of 12. Currently in my 60’s. Could you consider creating a video on this disease for me, 1, Are Rems Echolight Bone Scans worthy of performing better Than Dexa Bone scans. 2, Is Dexa scan the gold standard, but many doctors are using bone testing such as urine NTX and the CTX test to identify excessive bone loss 3, What to use for bone pain medication. 4, Any treatment Trial results show Setrusumab reduces the incidence of fracture and increases bone density and formation, your thoughts.
Tried CBD OIL for my wrist and it seemed to help with pain. When that bottle was empty I bought another bottle of the same thing at the same store and it did nothing so I stopped using it
Five weeks ago I lacerated my right hand on a large glass shard after dropping a five gallon glass water jug, severing four tendons, two nerves, and an artery. The initial stitching at the ER consisted of around 40 stitches in three layers in the lacerated tissues. A week later I had surgery to repair the damaged tendons and nerves. Since the injury I have not taken any pain medication at all, but have used 50:1 CBD to THC gummies (50mg to 1mg; Tastebudz brand) to help with the healing in my hand. I was also gifted a small bottle of full spectrum CBD concentrate that contained 2000mg of CBD oil, which I would take twice daily. As a yoga teacher and Vipassana meditator, I wanted to feel every sensation as my body worked to heal the trauma in my hand and I feel that the CBD helped my nervous system immensely in that it connected me to my nervous system and the sensations in my hand from a place of interested detachment where I could be with the intensity of sensation without it being overwhelming. I am now four weeks post surgery and I have already been to six Bikram (hot) yoga classes where I can do all of the poses as of last week (three weeks post surgery), can already extend all of the effected fingers way further than my pt would like (she doesn’t want me to extend my fingers at all until six weeks post surgery), and have more grip strength now than most people would have two months post surgery and I feel like at least a small part of that was due to the CBD and how it effected my nervous system. Definitely a big fan of CBD, but results may vary.
I use cbd for anxiety and panic attacks etc. It also helps me sleep. I prefer a half / half thc cbd vape. I can't use the chocolate, it makes me very angry.
Hey Docs: Can you do a video specifically helping us to determine the reliability of medical studies? I am having the darndest time trying to figure out whether to spay my little Holland lop 🐰who will be 2 end of March. One vet said not to because there is 7x more risk of complications than dogs or cats yet other studies say to do it because in females they are (depending on which study up to 65% or 80%) more at risk to get uterine cancer "in certain populations." I recall learning in class that these are legal "get out of jail free" words used to hedge results and I could not believe they are used in studies! They also do not say how many buns were tested and I looked up the most tested bunny..(white) and not a lop! While I know you guys are M.D.s, I know ppl can be helped who have to make decisions..be they vet or med...exactly how much weight should studies be given that use such weasel words..(I.e. weaseling out of responsibility?)
Use 1/3 CBD and 2/3 THC in coconut oil together with 3mg of melatonin to help with my insomnia. Works great so long as I'm not stressed about something (usually appointments, seriously). I'm a senior. The FDA is captured by the phama industry and won't openly approve anything that won't make them money. It is medicine and was known as such before being criminalized in the early part of the last century.
I took CBD oil when i broke out with sarcoidosis. No idea how much i was suppose to take as i was in a lot of pain. I took 75% of the bottle as i took it i was not long feeling the effects of the drug but i was still in lots of pain but man i was so out of it Cheech & Chong would of said i was in another world... but still in pain lol
I think CBD is over-hyped and over-priced. I had better results with the newer lidocaine lotions, patches and especially the easy to carry and apply roll on form that Aspercreme (sic) roll on provides, along with Motrin. The old formulation of Aspercreme was useless. The lidocaine form is awesome.
At 72 I do use CBD in a stick form. I rub it on my arthritic knee and hip and it does take the pain away. There is NO thc in basic cbd so you will not get high.
After trying many meds for post MVA that was exasperated with PTSD my doctor and I tried CBD and a CBD/THC combo capsule. I found the cost really prohibitive plus it didn’t really work. The combo pills made me so dopey. No thank you! Maybe if the pain was in an easily acceptable area like a knee and using the cream? But for my situation it was a big waste of money.
I take CBD OIL for my Ankylosis Spondylitis pain …..it helps with my nighttime pain mainly it’s affects during the day is very suttle …. I have run out and that’s when I miss it especially in the middle of the night and during the day….. I don’t experience any side affects…. It helps me ….. but it’s like any other med it doesn’t work for everyone
Medicine comes from plants. The problem is that 3 or 4 million people just want to get high on Marijuana, and they will say it helps if it was the miracle plant that many say, wouldn't that be in conflict with the big pharmaceutical companies.
Yes cbd helps for me. Chronic pain is hard. You learn to live with it. For me, cbd takes the edge off and makes it manageable. I have taken different kinds, and for me redecan brand is the best. The challenge is that there are traces of tthc, and it’s not regulated. The brand before redecan gave me nightmares. I switched back to redecan and lost the nightmares.
Cbd did nothing for my arthritis pain. But I guess it depends a lot on whether or not one “believes” cbd works for ‘whatever’ ailment. Quakery as far as I’m concerned. Don’t waste your money.
I thought you discussed this before and the conclusion was it did nothing. Remember, placebos are often more effective the pharmaceuticals, which means your mind is more effective than drugs. 🤪
I took Temodar for a year and a half in 2005. I lost around 40lbs. I’ve had a reoccurrence in 2021. This time radiation and 1 year of Temodar. I took some THC and CBD while on the delay between Temodar doses. Lost know weight and kept all the physical activity consistent.

Are we talking over the counter or Rx for medical marijuana.
the most fascinating fact for me is that despite all the other natural remedies like vitamins, supplements etc are not even studied or regulated. Now we all understand that trying to regulate Supplements is just not worth the cost$$$ of studying it. but Since Cannabis is being used every where and legal is so many places its worth looking in to. But isn't it a lot like asking what benefits there is in Hops, should we drink beer?
It’s tricky for sure
@@TalkingWithDocs so many of us can handle tricky. but the "liars" are really good at it.
I tried it for sleeping issues and I had very strange dreams.
It helped my back pain for about 3 hours but I didn't like how it made me feel. Weird but not high
there are lots of 'percentage' in the CBD, you can try lighter percentage, like one drop of lighter 3X a day or so, carefully, it's so good (in my life) & want to share it! :)
I use mj for pain......I cannot take it in oil form. I am 76 and use for pain and try for sleep.....but have to take melatonin etc. To get any sleep whatsoever. I am Canadian. Have good dispensary nearby. Linda
CBD gives me a headache and makes me feel strange. What are your views on colchicine?
I am an orthopedic surgeon. I recommend to my patients that they try a TOPICAL CBD cream for their arthritis pain. It works very well for arthritis of the hands, knees and feet. Does not work as well for hip pain. We did a study in Colorado showing that CBD works much better with THC when used in a topical cream/salve. The TOPICAL salve I recommend is made in Telluride, CO by a company named Mary Jane Pharmaceuticals called the Nano Salve
What about using for sciatic pain?
Your doing wonderful work for your patients!
That’s awesome
Keeps my dogs calm .
Thank you for everything 🎉🎉🎉
What hospital are you affiliated with?
Yes, this is exactly what medicine should be doing, fixing the problem not making it worse.
What brand n which product did you use?
A better anti-inflammatory is Specialied Pro-resolving Mediators (SPM). Also, boron is good for arthritis
What is that??
I'm glad some people believe it helps them. I live next to a farm in Colorado that used to grow this stuff. It stunk throughout the neighborhood. They were robbed twice, then started putting armed men in the center of the field at night. I'm thankful it's back to being a vegetable farm.
I've tried it and I don't think it has any effect whatsoever. It doesn't make me 'high' or change the way I feel, at all.
Nice
I have spasticity (for past 2.5 years and CBD is useless. Only THC works but them I am stoned. I want to try Spravato. It works I am told for pain. Not available in Manitoba. Only Ontario, BC and Alberta.
I’ve had long covid for 4.5 years CBD helped me when i was so sick with covid and it helped me sleep better and it helped with my anxiety .
Very sorry to hear of your loss.
@@davidleigh7698 Thank you. 🥲
from the people I have spoken to, there is plenty THC (or whatever) left in the CBD being sold around here. A couple of those have extensive experience for comparison
FOR ABOUT A HANDFUL OF MONTHS NOW ONCE IN A WHILE LIKE ONCE A WEEK OR EVERY OTHER WEEK I'VE BEEN GET HAND CRAMPS BETWEEN MY THUMB AND POINT FINGER THEY WANT TO CLAM SHUT AND IT'S HARD TO OPEN PALM OR SEPARATE THOSE FINGERS APART WOULD A CBD OIL OR CREAM HELP TAKE AWAY OR CALM DOWN THESE CRAMPS PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU DOCS THINK THANK YOU 💚 ✌🏼OUT
Good morning
I’m living with Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) type III since the age of 4.
In excess of 50 factures, with rodding performed at Sick Kids at age of
12. Currently in my 60’s.
Could you consider creating a video on this disease for me,
1, Are Rems Echolight Bone Scans worthy of performing better
Than Dexa Bone scans.
2, Is Dexa scan the gold standard, but many doctors are using bone testing such as urine NTX and the CTX test to identify excessive bone loss
3, What to use for bone pain medication.
4, Any treatment
Trial results show Setrusumab reduces the incidence of fracture and increases bone density and formation, your thoughts.
Thank you
Bought from a cannabis shop, for sleep, didn't work for me.
MY friend got a prescription from his doctor, for sleep, it never worked for him.
cBD did nothing for me, I tried FSO, Full spectrum oil, does help with pain but I can't stand being high.
Great pain control
Can you tell us what brand it is?
@@marylockwood4400 Monjour, Orchard Medley
@@normnicholson are you in Canada? I'm in the US.
I take Resilence CBD in the AM and before I go to bed...I think it works for me....
We have random police roadside and workplace drug and alcohol testing in Australia. Would this show up in a drug test?
I've heard anesthesiologists say that it does affect someone before surgery you should not take it
I use cbd for anxiety and panic attacks etc.
Anyone with PCOS and high cortisol using CBD oil? Any thoughts?
Use 1/3 CBD and 2/3 THC in coconut oil together with 3mg of melatonin to help with my insomnia. Works great so long as I'm not stressed about something (usually appointments, seriously). I'm a senior. The FDA is captured by the phama industry and won't openly approve anything that won't make them money. It is medicine and was known as such before being criminalized in the early part of the last century.
I tried CBD in all strengths and had no effect for pain management and or anything else.
For sleep. some work, some don't! I have found CBD that works for sleep, but another did nothing.
At 72 I do use CBD in a stick form. I rub it on my arthritic knee and hip and it does take the pain away. There is NO thc in basic cbd so you will not get high.
I've tried CBD for pain, fibromyalgia and anxiety several times from different manufacturers and felt no relief.
I take cbd for sleep. It works
Cannabinoid hyperemesis was my side effect from CBD oil 😢
After trying many meds for post MVA that was exasperated with PTSD my doctor and I tried CBD and a CBD/THC combo capsule. I found the cost really prohibitive plus it didn’t really work. The combo pills made me so dopey. No thank you! Maybe if the pain was in an easily acceptable area like a knee and using the cream? But for my situation it was a big waste of money.
Mother Nature vs big pharma …. I choose Mother Nature every time I can.
exactly...
Most of this topical stuff contains menthol, which masks, the pain kind of like the old Watkins salve back in the day!
just choose other versions, there are so many good ones
@@chrisnam1603 I use Arctic Muscle brand , is that a good one?
Vote YES on Amendment 3 in Florida to make weed recreational!
For me, This does not work on pain at all. Turmeric and black seed oil have worked much better for inflammatory pain
I think I slept better but nothing for myofascial pain.
Chance'um! (Yes! You are in charge of your own health!) Go low and go slow!
I wonder how these comments have affected you guys' opinions?
hopefully they will be more convinced :)
Hemp oil gave me nightmares. I will not be trying CBD.
Medicine comes from plants. The problem is that 3 or 4 million people just want to get high on Marijuana, and they will say it helps if it was the miracle plant that many say, wouldn't that be in conflict with the big pharmaceutical companies.
I didn’t like how the Gummies made me feel, and unfortunately I didn’t feel any pain relief.
Did Nothing for me.
Everyone i know says it does not last long. To me, not worth it
Did nothing for me
I took Temodar for a year and a half in 2005. I lost around 40lbs.
I’ve had a reoccurrence in 2021. This time radiation and 1 year of Temodar. I took some THC and CBD while on the delay between Temodar doses. Lost know weight and kept all the physical activity consistent.
