    Matt, I cannot thank you enough for this and the 148 NWST. After watching all your videos and then contacting you I knew you would be the best shop for me. As you mentioned, this radio will being going in my 1982 Ford F-150 that has a stunning 20,000 original miles. They'll be the perfect "period," match. I'll tell anyone who wants to listen, who did the work! As you said and I agree, my 148 NWST is not as desirable being from China and not built like the 148's of old, but I always wanted one. The NWST compared to the 1995 148 was a wreck and having not seen it, I have NO DOUBT its repaired way better than I ever thought it could be. Thanks again, and send that invoice!

And I wasn’t gonna make the mistakes I did back then, lol. Matts been great to work with. should have radios back soon

    That's a great job on that radio. They were always great talkers as long as they weren't butchered. One of these days I'll have my Grant XL done up. But Lincoln II first .

    A pristine radio for sure. Well worth the resurrection. Taiwan, Philippines,
    Malaysia made; they are all good in their own respects. Had a Taiwan made years ago on the bench. Clipped, cranked, splatteren', ridiculously modified toaster oven. Great job on a classic, for a classic, Matt. 👍👍 Man the hatches, mates. The flood gates are opening again!!!

    I had one of these in 1983 and a Colt Excalibur, both were confiscated by the local authorities in a raid on my home, some CB frequencies were not legal in the UK at the time, they treated me like a criminal for chatting to friends, I was also prosecuted in court and fined £200.00, the frequencies were made legal later that year. I later took my Radio Amateur licence and Morse test, but it has never been as much fun, I really enjoyed the early days of CB in the UK, watching this video still gives me a buzz.

  • @3butalcomp3
    @3butalcomp3 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    At approximately 23:55 minutes, not the same 148 as shown just before. The prior, 148 rig shown was obviously export garbage. 40+ years in this great line of work. Just letting you know. BTW, either you're meter needs work, Pwr. Supply needs work. If all is well on your bench, why 22 watts PEP? Back it down to 18 PEP. OEM semi's, are usually hard to find, and too many are fake.

      I've had one of those from the mid-late 90s that I used for most of my years trucking. I got it from Big Cabin, OK back in the day. Had lots of compliments. It's now on a shelf in my garage. It's beat up pretty bad having been in so many different trucks, including when it was borrowed by other people. It finally gave up after about 20 years. I might have it rebuilt, but right before I quit trucking I ordered a General HP 40W that's never even been used.

    Greetings: I will not go in2 my experience, educations, hobbies or preferences. Ur content is not about me. It is about Ur flame. So do not take this the wrong way. Also, It is not meant 2 go south or disrespect.
    Now then: Had this been a Philippine or Dynascan I would say: What a way 2 disrespect such a fine classic in such pristine condition. However, since it is a millennial, I would hold on that 4 now. Still, I would not have done the cosmetics on such a pretty unit. I have brought many dumpster units back and then the cosmetic flashy stuff if they wanted...and with so much more function, performance and flashy magic than they have instituted 2day. The Blue RX...Really? Pimp a new vehicle? Hmmmmm. Makes about as much sense as 1/2in of rubber between the ground and 22in rims on a new 3,000lb vehicle... And paying 5x the $ 2 put them on.
    More $ than brains perhaps? 2) Credits 2 U on the job tho. They freak about the bench. Indeed nice and neat. Far above CB and not the typically seen. My 1st view of Ur content. Not disappointed or dissatisfied... And not impressed. I do appreciate Ur bench housekeeping and respect of the unit. "Home training" many have not learned. The audio/video is decent also. 4 that I give have the opposable phalanges approval sign.👍. I saw the George. Perhaps something I might have added 2 my President collection.
