It was fine. We never used the elevators on the subway, we had several people with us so we just took turns bringing the stroller up and down the stairs since most times we were trying to catch the subway in a short amount of time. People that live and raise kids in NY do it every day. I definitely over though it. It was cooler when we went, so l just made sure my daughter was bundled up and l had a carseat cover over her most of the time since she was under 1. You would be going during a better weather time, so you will be fine. I did get a more compact stroller frame her carseat for easy travel and it worked out great. Good luck and enjoy. We can't wait to go back to NYC, she just turned 2.
