My elderly relatives had Starlink set up but the guy didn't finish setting up any access points so now they have a bunch of Aruba ap's and tp link switches still in their boxes. I am now trying to figure out how to set up everything myself with the help of videos like these.
Paul, does the main Starlink router still be able to act as a Wifi access point too? and co-exist with the one plugged into the Ethernet adapter? Will the Wifi AP get assigned an IP or must you configure it to be on the same subnet as what the Starlink router is on? The reason I ask is I'll be using TP-Link or D-Link ceiling mounted AP
Good questions. Unless you put the Starlink router in bypass mode, it will still operate as a wireless access point. It is actually the DHCP server for the network as well. The Starlink router will assign an IP to your wireless access point and it will be in the same range as the starlink router's LAN subnet. I hope this helps.
Hi you talk about the ruijie app and adding products to it. We have the 5 port switch and one cabled ruijie access point I am wanting to add another access point. Do I need to use the app and add each item to it or can I just install and go.
Good question. The Ruijie access points come out of the box ready to use. They each have a unique wireless name (SSID) If you want all the access points to work as one name, then you should create a project in the Ruijie App and add them all to that. You can then create a single set of settings that all of the devices will share. I hope this helps.
Great video. Question if I wanted to hook the Starlink up to an existing cabling in the walls, thst go directly to the TV in the computer do I still use just use the switch box in tge video?
Paul, I've a question. Can I use a Ruijie router (to bypass the Starlink router) and mesh the indoor WiFi with ruijie rg-m32 and extend the outdoor wifi with a AP as you showed? If I can, I have to buy the switch or can I use just a Ruijie router with a PoE (if exist some like this)? I'm in Italy and I'm living in a very old country house with thick walls. I've not the chance to extend the indoor WiFi with the ethernet cables but I can do it with a mesh system, but I can use the ethernet cable to the outdoor AP.
Great question. The EW range (This includes the M32) only mesh to each other and not the RAPxx Access points or other routers in the EG range I am afraid. I would personally use the M32's indoors and then connect one of them up to an RAP6262 outdoor access point. They can all share the same SSID for seemless roaming, but the M32's can't physically mesh (ie wirelessly connect and repeat) the signal from the RAP6262. If you wanted to be able to have everything meshing together, then maybe use the EG105GW(T)'s instead of the M32's. You don't have to use a switch you can use a Ruijie router with PoE ports in it if you want. I hope this helps.
paul, i just bought ruijie rg-eg150gw-x and im planning to pair it with my starlink to extend wifi and i want to use ruijie captive portal as SSID authentication, so my question is have you tested starlink with ruijie captive portal and does it work??
Good question. This is not really about if it works with Starlink as Starlink is just the internet connection. The captive portal will work when set up on the wireless SSID you configure on the EG105
Starlink is just an internet service provider. You can I believe use Hikvision at the end of a Starlink connection, but to remotely access the cameras, I believe you need to be using Hikvision Connect I think it is called.

So great to hear. I hope it gives you a good starting point
very informative video. thanks Tech Geeks
Glad you liked it!
Very helpful videos, thank you
You are welcome!

Great question. Yes connect your Starlink Ethernet Adapter to a network switch and then all your wired connections to that and off you go.
@@The_Tech_Geeks perfect thanks

HI can you tell me what PoE you use here that will work with the outdoor access point - the REYEE EAP602? thanks
The EAP602 will take 802.3af or 802.3at 48v PoE power. So a standard PoE+ switch will work or the Ruijie E-130 PoE Injector. I hope this helps
can starlink integrate with hikvision ip cctv ?

so dose this just make the starlink router a power pack
If you choose to put the Starlink router in to bypass mode then yes it does.
awesome thanks
