The big flavors of New Orleans' cuisine lend perfectly to budget cooking. We may be using less expensive or fewer ingredients, making what we do use even more important. Getting the biggest bang for your buck is important. I can never say it enough, budget cooking does not mean bland cooking.
This $1.00 Jambalaya rice mix from Aldi is a great jumping off point. It includes rice, spices, and some dehydrated veg. The directions are easy enough for a child to follow.
Often, I feel that I have to compromise between affordability and convenience. No compromise needed today this meal was cheap and easy. I even got a 20 minute nap = priceless.

Polska Kielbasa $3.00*
Jambalaya Rice Mix $1.00
Bell pepper and onion $1.00
Margret Holmes canned Tomatoes/corn/okra $1.25
Total $6.25

*Optional stretcher 1 can red beans $1.00 or 2 cans to substitute for the kielbasa for even more savings

hey! love from India. we have way different cuisines and we don't usually use sausages in our diet. but I love experimenting with my food. and make new dishes. my mum really appreciates it. i will definitely give this a go. ❤
I'm 78 and after fixing meals for almost 60 years for family fast and easy is great for me. I just put part of a beef roast in my small crockpot and covered it with salt and pepper and a can of cream of mushroom. Then I put some baby carrots in. I won't have to think about supper tonight.😊I have some potatoes I need to use up to go with that. I love your videos..so cheery!

The rice dish is delicious 😋 I've made similar on the stovetop. I agree, those rope kielbasa are great, so versatile! I have several at all times in the freezer for a quick add-in.😊

How does TH-cam ad revenue work? Do your viewers need to watch all the pop up ads, or do they have to actually go to all the ad sites? Just asking so we can give you all the necessary help for your best payday😊
Hi Karen, thanks for the question. In general if a viewer is able to watch 30 seconds of an ad I will be paid for that ad view. However, watching an entire video, giving a thumbs up, and commenting are almost equally important as watching the ads. These actions resonate with the algorithm driving the pay rate for the ad revenue. So if the algorithm "likes" me that day I might make $25.00 per so many views vs a day when the algorithm is hitting lower I might only make $6.00 per so many views. It's complicated. Basically, I'm thrilled when my Lovies just watch and enjoy my videos. Love and hugs dolly😘😘
