I read this play some years ago in English but one of my classmates introduced this version. And like any other things about Japan i fell in love with japanese theatre too. I wish i could visit this country ASAP😍🌹
Then do you know and understand Shakespearian English completely? Nogaku scripts are written in classic Japanese grammars, not the modern Japanese grammars.
I understand that this is a rather late reply to this request, and undoubtedly you've either already found resources for this or have moved on, but in the case that you're still looking and need a lead, there is a Noh performance guide for Aoi no Ue by Monica Bethe and Richard Emmett (volume 7 of a series, it looks like) that not only has a translated script (alongside the original), but has extensive notes about the formal aspects of this play. I'm not sure where to get a copy, as since it's a 1997 publication that doesn't seem to have gotten reprints it doesn't seem to be in regular circulation (chances are it would be in an online database - I'd suggest giving it a search on the MLA International Bibliography - or there's probably a used copy on sale for some exorbitant sum), but I'm sure you'll be able to find it with some digging.
