It's either this mic or the Lauten Eden for me within the next 7 days, but I can't find anywhere I can test them in person. I'm on TH-cam to get an idea of how this mic sounds on R&B/Rap/Pop/Jazz. Can you help me out?
I'm partial to the 'Clear' setting. I've only heard this on male voices but each time it has sounded perfect to me. No honk, no boom, no fizz, just exactly what you want to hear out of the box. And the clarity-- like A/B-ing the difference between a plugin and hardware.
This the 1040 sounds amazing. I use the LCT 140 air (matched pair) for most of the sampling work I do. I think they are matchless in the price bracket.🙏🙏🏿👏👏🎩👍
We just got one for our boutique studio in Atl so thanks for the info. Btw, I appreciate how dedicated you are to audio quality so I'm gonna suggest a game changer for you. Look into the SA25M studio monitors. Just read the SPECS alone. My wife bought me a set a year ago, and I loved them so much I sold my barefoot monitors, and even moved from TX to atlanta to work for the studio that designed and built them.
Wow, yes, your voice sounds great through that microphone. Sibilance and plosives are buttered out. Nothing poping out. Would you recommend their other microphones for that same/similar buttered sound on the sibilance, and if so which ones? Is it also perhaps due to their well designed pop filters?
Nice review! Changes to the polarisation voltage of the capsule need time (Polar pattern, -6 / -12 dB PAD) otherwise the audible artefacts would blow your speakers. Which is why it is unavoidable to wait a bit.
Funny, I was watching another one of your videos and was thinking "Wow, what is that mic? He sounds great!" I could barely make out the logo, but an image search revealed that it was a Lewitt. Obviously I don't know a lot about mics. So after an Amazon search, I concluded it was the LCT-240-PRO. Then I was like "How can a $100 mic sound so great?" Oops.
Thanks for the in-depth and thoughtful review, Geoff!

@@TheManInCommandI was in the same boat but got the 1040. What did you end up getting?
That is an incredibly generous wedding gift! Also, congrats!

Clear is harsh in recordings tho based off my workings with it
Wooow....insane. I think you will never ever need another microphone. What a beutiful gift. ❤️🤘
I can clearly see how this mic can help audio engineers deliver different types of sounds through its ability to switch
Congrats on the wedding!

lol
Eloquent review 🙏‼️
Enjoyed the saturated setting quite a bit
It’s my default setting. Saturated, with tube at 50%.
Clear sounds great and warm sounds pleasant to my ear, others two are also interesting. State of art Mic, but very expensive...not for amateurs
Clear sounds more harsh than not in recording
Muuhahaha, I pick mine up this week!
Review on the slate microphone next?
If they want to send one over!
9:16 10 YEARS?!!!!!!!!!
Right?
I adore posh metaphors
I had to comment that the saturated felt like I had a vibrator to the throat. I liked the way it felt. I need a cigarette
Rode also got 10 years ; )
😂😂😂 30 second warm up vs 30 minutes uh I'd take a 3 minute wait and be happy af
Thanks for NOT using an instrument and for using your voice
