I was lucky to grow up listening to Pete and seeing him in concert. Pete was honest and someone you could respect. R. I. P. Pete ❤️

All of the people that today are in a union and are enjoying all the protections that a union provides safety, health benefits, pension, annuity job placement, equal opportunity all those things owe a tremendous debt to Pete and all the people that put their lives on the line to rally for workers rights, Pete was a voice for so many of the things that he hoped would make this country a better place . He was truly a generous man and in my eyes an. AMERICAN HERO as Pete would say. KEEP ON KEEPING ON. Pete loved absolutely loved WOODY’S song this “THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND we need live our lives and understand all of the things that people have fought for in this country to make it a better place. Thank you pete

I heard of Pete Seeger a few years ago, through my interest in older traditinal music, aand no artist have I enjoyed as much, wished I could meet, has had an impact on my life and so on. Pete Seeger is a true inspiration and those are some lucky students

I played on my melodica with Peter Seger like in a Karaoke mode. I enjoyed my act a great deal.

Wow! How about that foreshadowing from Pete and Woody at 1:01:31...
Woody went to WWII "with a sign on his guitar: This Machine Kills Fascists. He really wanted his guitar to win the war against Hitler. But he kept the sign on after the war was over. We asked, 'How come Woody, Hitler's dead, Mussolini's dead, Tojo's dead. You can take the sign off!'
[Woody] said 'No, this fascism comes along every time the rich people get the generals to help them stay in power.'
And that frankly is one of the things I worry about in the world today, because people get impatient and say, 'We need a strong man to bring order!'"
Here we are in 2024, people turning to Trump, a rich man who tried to stay in power despite losing the 2020 election, and people turning to him because they believe he's a strong man. Now we're dealing with MAGA fascism and the threat of Trump becoming dictator on day one.
