I’m looking to pivot more into video in 2025. It’s surprisingly hard to find resourceful videos about wedding videography on TH-cam 🤔 they are much much slimmer than videos about photography. So thank you for this!!
Hey Taylor and Tim, you left me with so much questions. Tim, can you do a video discussing your questionnaire? What tripods do you use also since you are a solo shooter where do you place your cameras on tripods throughout the ceremony and reception? And lastly, I see the guys ready way before the girls, can you explain the timeline? This video was different, thanks guys.
39:27 totally agree…. All I’m able to find are either AMAZING wedding films by the best in the world… or terrible videos 😂 seems like people are super happy either way lol
Taylor- what do you do about lighting for reception when you’re shorting a highlight film? Do you think an on camera film light would work good (like what John Branch has)? This video was super insightful but as a beginner I feel very overwhelmed by Tim’s equipment and set up 😅 I’ll probably start with a simple handheld approach like what Taylor does.
I honestly rarely light a scene for video highlights. I’ll move the podium to put it in a good spot. I’d use an off camera spot light similar to what Tim does though if I had to
@TaylorJacksonPhoto thank you! I still haven’t even used flash to shoot a wedding. I guess I’m an “ambient gorl” lol. But should probably wrap my mind around flash, etc at some point. But for starting out with video would rather start off simple. Thanks again.
@@timmuza (btw it's Aaron) Yah dude! The only thing I like to add to this, besides a lens pouch lol, is a timecode solution. I love the fast sync of the tentacle or deity setups for editing and building out a sync map of the day. And both ecosystems allow for 32 bit recording packs along side the timecode generators. Especially great when you have a portable recorder jacked into house audio. And it's recording for hours.
No. It equals hundreds of gigs of footage, and requires large fast AF cards (v90). Not all cameras shoot raw. You might be thinking of LOG. Which helps increase dynamic range but shooting RAW video is similar to shooting NEF or CR for stills. It allows you to adjust white balance fully in post.
Really enjoyed this. Would love to see even more of Tim’s approach. And his post production workflow/editing.
Thanks for this!
Okay… I’ll make some videos over the winter when I have less editing to do.
I see Tim I click right away 😍
Is it because of his 2010 TH-cam references?
I'm always amazed at what he's able to pull off from atop a bus
He never left the bus
Thanks for the video, shoot my first wedding this year and binge watched all of your videos before lol. Keep up the great work!
Hi Tim, what mic do you place on music speakers? In addition, what software do you use to deliver your client videos? Do you have a youtube channel?
Great video! Big ups Tim!
you had me at horsey sauce! 😍
I even put it in my coffeee
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto you should try using it as toothpaste!!
lindsey has the infamous backpack
We all do hah

I wonder how much all that equipment costs and how long it took to recoup it. Thanks for the great vid. 👏👏
I’ve been building it slowly over many years. You can get definitely get by with less.
Anyone know what strap he is using to keep that monopod on the pole???
Just a luggage strap
Confirmed. A bag strap from a fossil bag. Not the best solution. But it works.
@@Marvnz love it. Thank you!

I can make a gear video. 🎉

Brilliantly done
Excuse me at what setting do we photographers put our camera on to shoot weddings?❤️👏
50000000 iso shutter 2
@timmuza thanks much
@@DennerySegment758s It changes with the light, there is no one setting. You have to see what works best for you and the situation you are in.

Awesome Video!!! What audio receiver did Tim have under your Rode mic?
Dji mic 2
@@timmuza are you plugging the ntg into the dji’s mic jack then the DJI into the cameras mic jack?
@@eddiep27 Nah B. Rode makes a splitter cable that, I think it's called the SC-11... one source is the dji receiver, the other is the NTG.
@ oh cool. Then it’s saved as two different audio files?
@@eddiep27 it should left and right depending on your camera settings/camera.
So great to see Tim doing a fully bts, thanks for making this!!
It was nice 👍
