Mine went out in less than a year on a new 259D. I had service out for some other warranty work and the tech said that version 1 of that primer pump is a failure part. They all go out at different times but they all will break. The replacement is supposedly an upgraded version.
Just had the same happen on my 259D. 2017 with 1170hrs. Thanks for the video...after watching this it was super easy to do. One question I had, just the clear bowl on your fuel pump stay all the way full? My filter housing is full now, but the clear bowl on the fuel pump goes up and down. Just wondering if this is normal?

I read that there is a NAPA fuel lift pump for less money than the CAT model. Another company sells the same pump for little dollars.
My pump has needed replace 3x in 1000 hours of use.
It’s just a primer pump from what I gather but yeah I’m on my third for my cat 287d and now it’s not getting any power.
