Hey guys, just want to clarify mistake, the harness work for all icp and ipr's, my pins were just messed up so like an idiot I didn't even check! Sorry for the confusion!!
I want to put a 6.7 and transmission mission in a 1991 chevy 1500 and just have a nice build so it has to be able to pass emissions and I wouldn't mind a few switches
I have one of those interesting 1985 centurion dually VanTruck things from Ford and I pulled out the 6.9L in it and the turbo kit someone put on it. I only got to drive it once before it punched a hole out the oil pan. I got it for $43 from my neighbor because the engine was shot and I wanted to send it off right. Now I’m trying to figure out if I should just get another 6.9L or go Cummins but they’re so expensive now. Started doing research on 6.0’s and I realized that if I don’t have to put any emission systems on it then it might actually be worth it. Thank you for the information.
Ive been doing my research on this because i wanna swap a 6.0 into a obs ford because i love the obs body but love the 6.0 for its power and what i have learned is the are actually really simailar
You shouldn't have a problem with using your stock harness, along with the standalone. That's what I would have done of I was using the mustang as a daily and not a drift car
Planning to do an engine swap in my mustang, its a 98 ford mustang. Currently has a 3.8l v6 and a 5 speed. I plan in keeping the transmission but upgrade the gearset to a gforce gearset rated for 600hp/600ft-lbs with a transfercase for 4wd (it will be an insane daily driver.) Im stuck between a vortec 5.3 and the 6.0 powerstroke. Not sure which one would be worth while.
Hey I got a 95 f150 how easy would u think it would be to do the 6.0 swap? And do u think I’d have to beef the frame due to the engine weighing much more that the standard engine
I think it would definitely be a cool swap! I'm not real familiar with OBS f150s but I know they're pretty much f250s with less stiff springs. What I recommend is getting some 05+ coils and brackets from a super duty truck and swap them on, the frame should be able to handle the power, but probably will need traction bars to handle burnouts
Doing a 6.0 swap into a 63 Mercury Monterrey Breezeway, anyway I have the motor, trans, harness, and all computers. My question is, does someone make a harness that has a “ plug and play” digital dash, something simple with the bare minimum to get the engine running and the car driving?
I wonder how hard it would be to swap a stock 6.0 powerstroke and stock trans into a ford ranger and daily drive it I might do some mods just so adds like 100hp and makes it roll coal
DAMN IT TH-cam!!! im currently slapping together a turbo ls6 for a fairly rough 67 pontiac catalina conv now im seriously contemplating 6.0 psd the combo of a big, rusty and primer spotted body paired with a psd would be the ultimate rolling mechanical asshole/ lead-sled california needs
I know I'm extremely late to the party but I just found this video because I'm looking to swap a 6.0 into my 5.4 f250. This is a crazy question, but is there any possibility you still have that f250 harness?
@@HewettIndustries to make it a daily, because I wanted to go with whichever diesel engine would be easiest and least expensive to swap, I didn't know how the 7.3 would work either?
Both are pretty straigh forward, easiest thing to do would be a 6.0 swap, and you need a pcm and harness. The warren harness would probably be the easiest
Good info. I'm looking at getting a 2007 wrecked F250. To swap the 6.0 and transmission into my 97F250HD reg cab Project Truck. Want that old body style truck with more updated drive train and doing full interior swap.
@@HewettIndustries it's probably going to take me a while since I don't have a shop to do the work in but I'll get it done at some point go to know if all else fails I can get a wiring harness to at least get it to fire.
Hey bud, I’m looking to put my 6.0 power stroke into a 13 Durango. Everything from the engine to the wheel hubs. Would I be able to run the fuse box off the alternator? I’m excited, about to pull the small 3.6 out of the Durango. :)
I don't see why not, I probably wouldn't run it directly from the alternator to the fuse box, the alternator had spikes in amperage, and that can damage the fuses, I would run it to the battery then to the fuse box
I’m buying an ambulance “ 2004 ford diesel van” swapping the engine into a 2009 chevy avalanche. Could that be done ? Or i’ll have issues with engine mounts and front diff and wire harness. It has a 7.3L engine
I have the pre-production model, so they aren't quite out yet! They do have a non-vgt harness for sale here: www.warrendiesel.com/products/stand-alone-wire-harness-6-0l-powerstroke
I was told not to just do the third option or at least pay close attention and read up first because this factory harness has what I was told was a smart cluster where parts of it switch from hot to ground in 6 or so places to operate different components. Anyone know where I might find a diagram with all the must keeps highlighted? Been cruising forums for a while now and haven't found anything
You want to use a 03-04 pcm, the 05+ use the cluster for pretty much everything. Honestly isn't the hardest thing to do, I'm gonna make a video all on the plugs you need to keep/ cut out in the near future.
@@HewettIndustriesplease do. Will watch. I don't suppose you know what's in the cluster that the pcm needs? As far as could I tare down the cluster and use just the plugs and inner components. Probably will use older pcm, just wondering

Got any tips for motor mounts for a older ford frame like 70s-80s
I just got a 96 obs and I’m swapping my 05 6.0 in it, will the harness let me use my headlights, blinkers, etc?

I'm actually in the process of putting a 6.7 powerstroke into a 73 ranchero, do you think they could make a race application harness for that?
As of now, I don't know of anyone who makes them, I've been looking and talking to people for an upcoming project, but no luck yet!
I’m looking to swap a 6.0 into a 62 f600 grain hauler! Were the mounts for the motor difficult to mount up for you?
I'm thinking about 6.0 swapping my OBS 7.3 powerstroke, running everything off of switches for simplicity doesn't seem like a bad idea
Tyler how do I swap a 6.0 power stroke in a 95 dodge Ram 1500 single cab short bed 2wd.

A better way is to fabricate body mounts for the 150 to work on a 05-07 250/350 4wd frame. Easy peasy
How do you controll the transmission? Standalone unit?
The stock PCM AND harness
Would it be super hard to put a 6.0 in a obs f250

Tyler,
I have a 2009 super duty. 6.4 is blown. I have a built 6.0. There has to be an easy way to do this. Help me out, please!
Motor mounts are the same, transmission is the same, need a harness for the motor
What computer would you recommend to convert a 2003 6.0 diesel to a 2005 7.3 Diesel engine
Hey man where do you get your drive shafts?
Will the harness work with the trans? Or do you have to have a stand alone for the trans??
The trans has a simple harness that pretty much only controll the trans. So using the factory for a swap should be fine
Is the transmission harness attached to the factory harness? Or would I buy the transmission harness separately
