      I'm watching the Wrestling with Paul channel.
      He's got WWF each month from 1986 to 96. I'm at Nov 91 part 1 and The Warlord and Davey feud is in full swing.

    • @Longlostpuss
      @Longlostpuss ปีที่แล้ว

      Classic WWF was a proper soap opera presentation itself and that's why we loved it.
      The difference between then and now is that back then the writers knew how to create an angle people actually cared about, whereas now they couldn't write if their life depended on it.
      Even if they could, today's wrestlers just don't have enough of a handle on ring psychology to deliver it anyway.
      I'm just glad I grew up when I did and experienced wrestling's golden era.

    You often hear that Andre's problem with Big John was that Studd kept stepping over the top rope. Which, was Andres thing. But, if you watch that era, there were many other big men who also did that. Giant Haystacks, Uncle Elmer, Hillbilly Jim.. even while Andre was in the ring. Andre was THE giant but I think he may have felt threatened by John's ability.. rather his mobility, as a big man. By that time Andre was severely limited. That's just a thought, I liked both men and think it's sad they didn't get on.

    Funny thing, Warlord was scheduled for a title run, what with Hogan on his way down. When Bret Hart beat Piper at Mania 8, plans were nixed. Jake left because he didn't get his job in creative, yes indeed. Terry and Nord would amateur wrestle with Kurt refereeing, and The Undertaker. But then Shango and Warriors feud fizzled out, so Jim was put into the title scene instead.

Henry hasn’t even changed, walks over, says “Mind if I get in?” and bangs out 10 415 military presses. The meatheads just kind of all slunk back to the locker room. 😂
