I loved the freebirds. 3 totally different dudes but all on the same page. Very entertaining and just plain fun to watch. Terry was a mountain who could do the work. Hayes was a dorky but confident mouthpiece. Roberts took bumps like Bobby Heenan. I doubt I will ever like a tag team like I liked the freebirds. Too bad I grew up in shitty NY and rarely saw them.
Even after Hogan and the first wave of AWA guys jumped to the WWF, Verne still had the likes of Scott Hall, Curt Henning, Nord, The Rockers, Vader, etc.... With a better plan he could of stayed in business with all that talent post Hogan.
No. Nobody could at that point. Vince from what I understand had almost all the TV at that time. Jim Crockett had a lot of talent but even they were losing money. There's a reason why they all went under just a few years later.
Big vs old: When The Road Warriors came to AWA the champs were The Crusher and Von Raske. It was embarrassing to watch the Warriors majorly sell for those two and it took awhile to win the titles. Their promos were HILARIOUS though- I still have them on video.
What Scott is describing about the "Old Wrestlers" is what I thought about Superstar Billy Graham with his comeback in the 80's. As A kid I had no idea who he was. I just saw an old slow guy beating people up that didnt make sense..
I always considered the real Wolf Pac to be Hall, Nash, & Syxx (Waltman). Even as a 9 year old in '96 I got that vibe. Sting, Luger, & Savage should have never been nWo Black/Red. Especially Sting...back then, that Red/Black facepint was the talk of the schoolyard. 💯
Funny story: during the freebirds run in Dallas, Michael Hayes once went off script in the ring, 'went into business for himself, refusing to be pinned or sell any offense. Eventually, he was tagged out and never came back in during the match. Predictably, Fritz read him the riot act backstage and Hayes exploded, saying how, in the last three nights in a row, he'd been beaten up by fans in a bar and he blamed it on the writing and his co-workers making him 'look weak' in the ring, and said the fans didnt respect him and thats why he kept getting beaten up. In his words "it puts a target on my back". Thats one of the reasons Gordy was put with him. He was Hayes' real life bodyguard.
@@smithhart2920 First: calm down, kid. Secondly, When you speak to your elders, speak with respect or don't speak at all. Lastly, I dont expect you would know it, but "going off script" is a saying literally hundreds of years old meaning to deviate from the planned outcome of something. It doesnt mean that there was a literal paper script involved, you complete and utter dromodian.
@@jameswesten2018 Listen, I'll not tell you again. I realize that you resent me, and that you think I'm trying to take your fathers place, but your mothers an adult and is allowed to date whomever she wants. Stop trolling or I'm shutting off the Wifi. This is getting ridiculous. Did I tell your little friends about why youre no longer allowed at the petting zoo? No. Get off the internet and take a shower.
@CertifiedHuSTLer You're right but don't waste your breath. He doesn't understand "going off script" doesn't mean there's literally a paper script involved.
I love that Scott and Kevin are not marks they called it fake they knew it was fake , it’s more like acting than a sport , but these marks look at it like it’s real or it takes talent lol 😆 Scott new it was just a job fake as 💩 win or lose

Good thing you didn’t misspell his name to gain views
As many problems this guy had, he has such a good memory of his career. Hall is one of the better story tellers.
Great to hear how much Scott was influenced by the Freebirds definitely didn't see that coming but told me a LOT!🙏💖💯🍶
I could listen to the bad guy all day. Ty for the upload

Agreed & very rare at least for me to hear how much he loved The Freebirds & incorporated some of their stuff in creating The Wolfpack!
Him and Nash would have #1 podcast today
I love Hall and Nash but based on Nash’s current podcast I highly doubt that.

Great upload
I'm guessing that Scott Hall forgot that he actually had a match with the Yellow Dog/Brian Pillman in 1991.
