"I don't have the best of penmanship" -literally hand writes neater than my computer can type.
SleepSmithASMR their was actually a tutorial like this when i was in second grade. It was very soothing. I have been having tingles for a long time now. Never had a name for it when i was growing up. Bib ross and wrbh a radio station for blind and handicapped was my go to lisiening to fall asleep at noght. This was 30 something years ago. Nice job by the way.💋
I used to love writing in cursive. A lot of my print actually flows together if I'm writing a lot, like my hand is trying to write in cursive.

You can literally post a video of paint drying on a wall and I would sleep like a baby to it.
I went to a private school & didn’t know that a lot of others didn’t get to learn, I can’t believe they stopped teaching cursive to students - Though it’s not much needed, being able to read it if you’re a history nerd like me is extremely helpful. I feel as if it also develops children’s print better.
Cursive is how we were expected to write when I went to school in France

The capital G and Q sooooo different in Brasil, I have never seen these and here the majotiry of people write in cursive, I cannot write continuously if its not cursive. Fun fact, since in Brazil we dont have any words with the letters K, W and Y, when i learned the alphabet these letters were ignored, we knew they existed but we didnt learn where they would go. But peple started to get american names like Wesley, or to write brazilians names with these letters like Natalya(an atrocity btw) or Karolyne. So we had to add the letters to the alphabet a decade ago, but to this day people don't know where they go kkkkk(thats how we laugh in Brazil)

I cannot even tell you- i was cleaning my kitchen and i felt super home sick for your videos- especially your pasta sauce video- you have a nostalgia to you and it’s almost like you are able to connect through screen you have a such a beautiful kindness and super knowledgable on all aspects. Some countries in Europe also still punish those who fight with their left hand. Same in America but I’m pretty sure in Spain and Italy it’s considered a family shame or disgrace. Writing in cursive up until third grade, I always smudged my writing (and received bad marks for it) and I’m happy we used type instead. Hope I didn’t come off too preachy on an ASMR video.

I live in a European country and we basically never write in cursive here anymore. Maybe very old people still do. The only common thing it is used for is putting your signature on important things such as contracts or deliveries.
It’s really funny how cursive is different from one country to another. Most of the capital letters (in cursive) don’t look the same AT ALL here in France.

Was watching your henna video and then got a notification about a new video from you woohoo! I learned cursive in 3rd and 4th grade, but it stopped being enforced around 5th grade. I wish I could write quickly in cursive. It seems so much more adult and elegant. My grandmother writes everything in cursive.

My teacher was teaching me for 2 school years. I use cursive pretty much my whole life
In 3rd grade we were supposed to learn cursive, but by the end of the teacher we only got through P! Finally receiving closure in 2018
It is jarring learning how many cursive letters I have forgotten.
In the uk were taught upper case letters in print and lower case letters in cursive. i think its due to the fact that when we use capital letters we never join them with lower case letters (names or days of the week for example) whereas in mainland europe eg france they dont really use capital letters for proper nouns so when they do use capitals its very common to just join them with the lower case letters
Cursive is interesting. I can read it but not write it. I was taught English handwriting to join the lowercase letters but the capital still looks like a printed letter.

Wow I had no idea cursive writing is so "rare" nowadays.
I learned this in elementary school, that's how we first started writing.
My handwriting is very different now but I can still write cursive.. However some letters I learned to write different in cursive
Funnily enough, I started to improve my handwriting a few weeks back. I could never 'get' cursive in school and recently discovered I was actually taught wrongly in any case, so my handwriting has ended up some sort of bastardisation of cursive and print but both portions done poorly. So it's nice to see another video combining something I'm working on with ASMR, one hellova combination. Thank you. :-)

Brilliant video! They tought cursive handwriting at my school in Scotland. I started to get taught it when I was 8 and I was always good at it, and now I write fluently in cursive and find it hard to print!
kinda interesting that schools here in america don't teach cursive anymore. you kinda need it for signatures, and you'd think they'd teach it at least in high school.

English isn’t my first language but when I studied it in school it was mandatory to learn how to write in cursive, It was interesting honestly.
i remember growing up in Bermuda, no homework was accepted if it wasnt in cursive
Your cursive is very different from the cursive style we were taught in England. I've only reached B and already I've noticed that our capital As looked like "A", rather than like a big "a" and our lowercase Bs had their tail from the bottom of the loop rather than the top.
I love cursive! My print looks terrible because I connect all my letters among other things and my cursive is the only decent handwriting I can produce. Unfortunately since many people can't read it , chicken scratch it is

Note: I’ve always wanted to learn but couldn’t quite get it right. I’m 16 and I feel like I should teach my future children from a young age, how to write this way. I find it kinda hard and I think it is better to learn at a young age, in order to get muscle memory.
my hand writing now is almost impossibly to read to most people because growing up i learned cursive. but me being a military child and going to more than 10 schools means that before stupid common core was implemented they canceled cursive in the midwest. meaning that i was the only kid there that knew cursive-and i was forced to write in print. but i didn’t fully and now i have a beautiful mix of long hand and print. now i’m highschool it’s hard for teachers to grade because most of my teacher are 22-30.
As much as I like cursive writing I was always marked down for smudging my writing because I was left handed.

I kinda made my own cursive to fit a nicer aesthetic lol I write most letters “correctly” but some of them I alter to look a bit closer to the print version, like Z. I don’t like cursive Z’s so I make my look like the cursive “Q” and I add the litte tick mark across it so I looks more like a Z I do the same for the lowercase, the other letters I alter are very slight but the Z is noticeable one lol amazing video by the way very soothing 😌

In Italy you are required to use cursive for anything... I remember that teachers made us use fountain pens because doing so we couldn't erase our mistakes lmao

I was forced to write cursive in 3rd/4th grade when I went to private school, then I switched to public and ditched it because it wasn't required. I can kind of remember how but it's illegible when I try.

My cursive lacks a certain dignity Also it is nearly illegible. My teachers gave up and told me to just print everything. I am now the brittle, hollow shell of a man before you: a vestige of what I once was. A shadow of what I might have been. On the plus side, my parents finally admitted I WASN'T adopted, and I don't need to write much anyway, what with living in the sewer tunnels and all.
