I always say, with great love and respect, I really wish Philip had a gone back to the USA, cut back on his drinking, he had soo much to offer Americana, Country,Rock,Blues, he could have rode a wave of popularity, working with all the greats, they all wanted him to play on their albums and tours. Or he could a simply rode the waves with John & Fiona his great friends. Such a unique talent (just like John was), such a giant of a character. I hope these two friends are kicking it up in the great joyful place. RIP Philip & John .
GodSpeed John Prine. Thank you for gracing us with your music. I don't know Philip Donnelly's music but going to have to check it out. I see from the posts here that he has also passed away. They are singing in Heaven now :( My heart goes out to their family and friends.

So wonderful to see these two. Phillip was a fantastic guitarist and loved his work with John and others like Nancy Griffith.I always knew if Phillip was playing. They had fun together for sure. Breaks my heart to loose them.
Yes they were Ann and Phil was in the bar afterwards as quick as me and put up with me bending his ear and he was absolutely lovely and i'm heartbroken he's been taken from us, I do have about 30 other mins of that show...my first Prine gig, i;ll dig em out and put em up.
@@cleethogwallop thank you Cleet, i would love to see it, he looks great. It's a pity he didn't get more recognition as he was as great a guitarist as the great Rory Gallagher. I have requested Rachel English on morning Ireland to say something about him as I think he well deserves to be mentioned.
