    I've done probably 100 or more c2c afghans and I've always HATED doing the slip stitches when I decrease.. Never, ever, not even once, have I considered doing the chain 3 instead! Thank you so much for making c2c blankets a joy again. And I love your technique for joining as you go. Definitely have to try this after work today. I love your thorough tutorials, so many helpful tips.

I have been crocheting for over 30 yes and have tried on multiple occasions to make this pattern (without the joins) but have never understood the written instructions on the turning and where to go from there. I thought it maybe how he was going to join the square so I disgarded my query about it yesterday, he has 2 gaps back to back, where he's joining, it's not so baby friendly this way. I'll do it my way but go into the stitches his way to join the squares. 😊💞

      @cindylillard2938 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@amandall3633 when I do my C2Cs I chain 5 instead of 6 to lessen the spaces , and I chain 2 instead of 3 , it makes a lot less holes... I'll have to try his method with my chain counts.

      @@cindylillard2938 ill give that a shot, it sounds like a good idea. I'm was to do a bolster cushion cover and ran out of what I was using, so I'll use that for something else, but small granny squares are not my favourite but I like C2C, Graig must be a mind reader, as well as a jem,, as he comes up with this, just when I need it. Love this c2c join-as-you-go but what a time I had with the joining procedure. I can follow along okay but wanted to be able to get away from a computer screen and just wing it. I'm only on join #5 of row 1 and I just know that repetition will eventually kick in and that's what I want - to be able to motor along with looking at a pattern or watching a video (no offense-love your voice).
    After several screw-ups, I decided to write the pattern down as I went and I think that may have helped but I think the repetition also helped. Even worse is setting it aside and picking up the next day and expecting everything to click in. I'll refer to the notes until.............
    Thanks again for the tutorial - love your gentle approach.

    I now have like a million more ideas, lol. But so glad I stumbled across this video. This is making the graphgan I just started so much easier. I won't have what seems like a million yarn bobbins(which always seem to tangle) and worse what seems like a hundred zillion ends to weave in. I can actually hide many of my ends as I go as I have long strips of the same colors. I hate weaving in ends! Oh, subscribed.

    Along the edge on the decrease, I thought that you'd use the chain 3 gaps you made, but as you Don't , as I do you can slip stitch along each or into each of the stitches and into the loop. Then chain 3. As yoo have 2 loops back to back your way, if that makes sense. It would be more baby friendly and you get a cleaner edge. 😊💞
