Yes, hard to top, but I have been very successful in business these last 5 years or so and I'm going to continue diversifying my fiat. My plan is to maintain about 10% of my assets in precious metals. I'm not there yet.
Once you get to 10% precious metals worth of assets, I bet it'll be hard to stop buying, because it's addicting. My friend, who's a financial planner, suggests 10 to 20% worth of precious metals. That's what she's doing with her family. I'm watching this video again now after dinner......nice collection. Thinking back, maybe I should've bought that OPM mushroom at the long beach show.....oh well, next time.

And you have the US Assay 100 oz poured bar, what can I say other than "Jackpot". I laughed when I saw the Smokey the Bear bar, as when I first started those kind of bars were equal to the Lunar series now, lol. Great vid!
Thanks for watching Cull Silver. I'm amazed at how many serious vintage silver bar collectors are out there and there is indeed a premium marketplace out there for these times. I have been lucky to get a good amount of my bars at 1-2 above spot, but some I did pay quite a bit more for. I think there will always be a collector market for vintage bars and rounds a like. I also like stacking generic bullion and some semi-numismatic coins like the Pearth Mint products, Liberates, Philharmonics, ASEs, etc. Love the junk silver, too. I'll do part two in the near future. PS: that Smokey the Bear is pretty cool and it's in fantastic condition..a throw back in time for sure!
People always talk about low mintage coins, think of those older bars!!! Most of those companies are out of business and their bars have been melted forever. There are very few left from this part of the silver's history. They will continue to go up in price for sure. I love them!
I love them, too. It's a classic example of supply and demand. I'm about 10 years away from an early retirement and when I do, I plan to scour the local market place for these treasures. Wish I had more time to visit LCSs, bullion dealers, etc.
I have had some great luck at estate sales and on craigslist. Once I bought silver bars at an estate sale that they had marked as "lead" mixed in with a bunch of fishing tackle, lol. That was a good day$$
I ditto the need for a silver bar book, been looking up several of the companies yo have bars from and in some cases find about nothing amazed about nothing onlievas reference to the many closed companies that made these great bars thanks again for your kind education
Oh, and while listening to this video a second time, I fired up EXCEL to do some calc's to figure out how many pounds all that is .... if I am correct, that 1400 troy oz is equal to 43.5 kilos !! (96 pounds). Man, do I feel sorry for that table holding all that weight, LOL.

really nice video, I'm a silver stacker newbie and I saw a lot of silver bar that I never seem before, but why I never see the Johnson mathey 10oz/100oz silver bar that stop production on 2015?
Bryan Tay thanks. JM stopped making 100 oz poured in the 80s. They did make a pressed style 100 much later, but those are not as collectible. All their poured stopped in the 80s from what I gathered. Their newer stuff up to 2015 is more bullion style without the premiums and collectibility

I also like stacking generic bullion and some semi-numismatic coins like the Pearth Mint products, Liberates, Philharmonics, ASEs, etc. Love the junk silver, too. I'll do part two in the near future. PS: that Smokey the Bear is pretty cool and it's in fantastic condition..a throw back in time for sure!
People always talk about low mintage coins, think of those older bars!!! Most of those companies are out of business and their bars have been melted forever. There are very few left from this part of the silver's history. They will continue to go up in price for sure. I love them!
I love them, too. It's a classic example of supply and demand. I'm about 10 years away from an early retirement and when I do, I plan to scour the local market place for these treasures. Wish I had more time to visit LCSs, bullion dealers, etc.
I have had some great luck at estate sales and on craigslist. Once I bought silver bars at an estate sale that they had marked as "lead" mixed in with a bunch of fishing tackle, lol. That was a good day$$

I ditto the need for a silver bar book, been looking up several of the companies yo have bars from and in some cases find about nothing amazed about nothing onlievas reference to the many closed companies that made these great bars thanks again for your kind education

Oh, and while listening to this video a second time, I fired up EXCEL to do some calc's to figure out how many pounds all that is .... if I am correct, that 1400 troy oz is equal to 43.5 kilos !! (96 pounds). Man, do I feel sorry for that table holding all that weight, LOL.

really nice video, I'm a silver stacker newbie and I saw a lot of silver bar that I never seem before, but why I never see the Johnson mathey 10oz/100oz silver bar that stop production on 2015?
Bryan Tay thanks. JM stopped making 100 oz poured in the 80s. They did make a pressed style 100 much later, but those are not as collectible. All their poured stopped in the 80s from what I gathered. Their newer stuff up to 2015 is more bullion style without the premiums and collectibility

I really like the toning on the 1986 Liberty Trade 5oz silver bar. The prices for those bars on Ebay are outrageous though. $50-100+ per oz.
