Yea for ppl that don't know, the question was is he going to keep his hands like that forever for his psychological pose that makes people think he is in charge?
Penn and Teller are two of the most genuinely entertaining people on the planet. It’s nice to see someone who has understood this fact for years, if not decades, like Ryan, get to meet two of his idols and benefit from their selflessness. If anyone has not seen either of these acts, do yourself a favor and do so. Congrats Ryan. I hope meeting your heroes was everything you dreamed it might be.
A GREAT interview with a GREAT magician! Mega skills and humility to boot! Thank you Penn & Teller for always being an accurate barometer of what or who is worth knowing about! BRAVO Ryan Hayashi!!! BE WATER MY FRIEND(Bruce Lee)!
Geez. To find out that your act on Fool Us with the matrix and perfect sleight of hand and amazing technique, was simply your hobby, is just mind blowing. I have nothing but the utmost respect for you and all that you do. What a wonderful person with incredible gifts of entertainment and comedy. Thank you for sharing this with us!
Not only mastering magic, but also Penn & Teller. Well done mate! Standing your ground in the only way it was ever meant to be interpreted as: by wit and intellect. You: verbal ninja ~ balancing truth and ego! you owned the moment my friend. Tip hat!
Jan Willem v.d. Gronden Yeah, Penn was kinda being a dick during the interview, but Ryan seemed to handle it well and surely knows he was just busting a young magician balls a little. Took the Asian racist shit in fine, but when Penn started making fun of Canadians, Ryan seemed to get offended. One thing, I would suggest is talking more after some of Penn’s questions. When Penn asked him about martial arts, he should have told him where he trained (if he is allowed as wells as a brief history of his training an ranks he holds. I would have also through in a good Mr. Miagi/ Karate Kid joke.
The word teller finally said when he did speak blew my mind I don't think anyone really knows what that means it's definitely not the average humans vocabulary most people would just say greed shows what a genius he is
Because he knew the word avarice???????? I do agree Teller is very intelligent but if him knowing the word avarice is what made you realize it you need to raise your standards lol
@@ChildrenOfOwls yea...never heard anyone on tv say it...give me one example and I'll let you off the hook..or find it in a newspaper article...its not said by anyone on a daily basis..most people except lawyers are not that verbose
I appreciate that you take the "racist" (stereotypical) humor in stride. I saw you first on Penn & Teller. REALLY loved your performance. Keep it up, and I hope your son will continue your style with his own spin!
Ryan, you were the highlight of Season 5 of P&T:Fool Us. Love your talent, energy and respect for Penn and Teller. Like how they mocked "Hayashi Hands." Work on avarice and get on Twitter already.
Very inspirational. I was thinking right before your notification came up that karate is my last dream left, and if I should give up because I have to work, with no time from dreaming left. All of the karate icons I've wanted to meet and train with have passed or no longer taking on students as they are now elders, which has left me to search out other practitioners, such ad yourself. Thank you for sharing your passion for the art and also your hobby and chasing your dreams and tangibly laying hold of them. Yourself and 4 other practitioners in Germany I want to come visit: Fiore Tartaglia, Schlatt, Gyula Büki, and Team KI, sometime in the next couple of years, hopefully it will come to fruition. Thanks again Best wishes and Osu!
Have you ever done a video about your sword? It is such a beautiful piece and you are very talented with it by myself have studied Kendo and Ichi-Ryu for 20+ years. Youre a very talented and brave guy and I would love to hear the history of your sword
No. I will probably never appear on AGT. The show producers will automatically see me and Shin as too similar, both being Asian magicians who do close up magic. I have already done the Got Talent show in three other countries, so I am familiar with the show format. It sounds crazy, I know, because I Shin and I are actually not that much alike. He looks like a shy Michael Jackson with boyish charm, and I look like Elon Musk on high testosterone. Never fear, you will see more television magic from me soon. Shooting my next appearance next month.
late to the party, but my boyfriend and i loved your performance on fool us! your magic was amazing and your act made us laugh so hard. keep it up, ryan...this is only the beginning! 🙌🏽
I get it, the old guy on the left doesn't talk during his magic shows to add a bit of mystery to his "act". But why is he still mute while conducting an interview? What a cocky old bat. I bit he's fun to live with.
Yes, I know he is the wisest man on the couch. He wanted to stay in character for this interview and not speak. He had an awesome long talk with me off camera.
It's just his character when performing. It's sort of becoming his trademark. Just search 'Teller speaking' and you'll find interviews where he explains it. but to answer the question, no, he can speak perfectly well
teller looks like a golfer who walked into the wrong room and then found it too awkward to leave
Lol hell yeah
Hahaha! He does indeed..
lmao
Penn looks like a skater who refuses to admit he's older than 35 lol
looks like he kept to the script
I liked Teller's questions the most.
InteLStaT I saw this comment and i literally waited for Teller's questions.
It was worth the wait. 👍

Teller looks like a gigantic baby
lol
Lol, sooo true.
bruh you nearly killed me xD
He looks a bit like the Trump baby balloon in London recently.
Teller looking thicc
What a wit... what a character... what an intellect. What a class act.
Ryan - you deserve your own TV show.
MrSinclair1956 “who said that? I did. But you were thinking it.”
Hey! You stole my words before I wrote them! ;-)
Couldn't agree more though!
Ryan deserve more viewers and subscribe
Yep, but then he said he’s Canadian! Don’t like those snowbirds.
Joking in the last reply, of course. Ryan was trying to allude to Bill Murray, John Candy, etc.
Penn sounds like a grandpa asking his kid how school was today
Lolzz
Teller made this the best interview on TH-cam. In character throughout everything and ready for anything. He is truly a gem on earth
Teller is always such a value add to these interviews.

Most people don't know Teller is more well spoken in real life than Penn.
Teller has done talks on performing magic in front of a lot of people. He actually talks a lot just not during the shows they perform.
@@therabbits69 Yep. Part of the stage act persona.
Looks like they both like u very much....hard work paid off huh...dream came true rgt.... I'm happy for you😀
Why don't they just hang up a picture of Teller so he can chill in the hotel while Penn does the interview? LOL!
It's so sad watching Pen slowly lose his voice, I've always enjoyed listening to him.
It's like a nephew who got caught in the middle of golfer uncle and curious talkative uncle.

There next hit series. Penn & Teller sitting next to celebrities on a couch......Hit pod cast at least.
Teller - as long as i keep my mouth shut nobody can tell how high i am...
I love how Ryan is impressed by everything they say I’m sure if penn would tell “I love pasta “ he will be like “OMG me too ! » 😂😂

Hey Teller, Magnum P.I. called. He wants his shorts back!
Ryan, you're fun to watch, man. Hope to see more from you. Wish you all the success. Love the coin routine. The best ^^

I have never heard Teller talk ... congratulations
What the heck was the word?
I think he said "headrest" (to base the rest of Ryan's career on).
There is video of Teller talking!
He said "avarice".
@@Ryan_Hayashi You got Teller to talk...... on camera! Another great achievement!!!
Dude, I was born in ‘73, and I know Maxwell Smart from the Nude Bomb! Saw it on HBO at a hotel back in the ‘80’s.
I'm thinking, they don't have reruns in Canada? I was born in '71 and I remember seeing a lot of the series.
Knowing it's just a hobby, wow, appreciate it all the more. It is just beautiful.
I'm glad you got to meet your heroes, Hayashi-sensei. Surely in the future if not already, people will view you as their hero.
love them both
This guy really are legend. Pen and teller, wish it was me over there. A legend recreate another legend
You are awesome. What a thrill to be next to legends in magic. Good for you.
I was born in 83 and I loved Get Smart!!!!
I knew I couldn't be the only guy in his 30's who loved Get Smart!
I'm so happy for you Ryan, you deserve all the success, your magic is amazing and completely awesome.
I, too, was born in '73, but absorbed much of Get Smart. Lots 'o reruns, but don't recall the network.
Ryan's in GERMANY!!! Ayyyy I hope this still reigns true 😀
never saw hin runnin around domagic, sad times
That whimsical music in the background had me Tripping for a second.

You guys are great.. Keep up the good work Ryan
its nice to see an interviewer having a mascot around to ease the tension
Literally that entire interview I thought he just had random strips of black ribbon tied around his elbows.
You're really great!!! It's impressive how this is just a hobby and you're really really good
I was having a panic attack watching this entire clip, fearing that Teller's balls will flash....
sleight of balls

"The Craw" also reminds me of Revenge of the Nerds. "Or maybe we could have robster craw!"

16 Candles too!
Very funny and genuine... really enjoyed it!
I love how Penn rips in to Ryan about his hand gestures.

I think he said “Avarice” as in base your career on greed
Loved it
One of the funniest people in the world. Keep on, Ryan!
Ur such an inspiration
I'd love to see Ryan in person.
Teller asked some very interesting questions
Teller looks like he popped an edible and about half way through the video it kicks in
SUPER EPIC THE ULTIMATE MATRIX!!!!!!
Wish you the best
Ahahaha congratulations for befriending with your own childhood heros! You're just very lucky

You've got a gift continue to share
Du lebst in Deutschland ?! Darf man erfahren wo ? :)
Penns shoes are hard
This guy stays in character forever... jeez guy relax.
will we see you next year on AGT 2019? Shin Lim did it, and so can you.

Ryan Hayashi you should try the AGT2020 season. 2019 will be too soon for another close up magician to win
Deal with it, Ryan, an Asian has out-asianed you.
I love how you lean constantly towards Penn as he tells you about "Get Smart", looks like you want to kiss him xD

Three giants.
What's the movie did he perform on??
ayeeeee Penn rocking them Lebrons...

Shin Lim of coins!
no. just no.
Teller showing all kinds of ankles.
While talking about hand gestures, at 7:55 he starts doing this *specific* one. - Is that intentional? :D Can't quite read it from his face ;)
Lmaoooo too funny!!!
Penn can't get the hand gesture right! It's not even a claw!! It's infinitely more beautiful than that. 😁
Any one know what Teller said
Penn sold me an encyclopedia for $50
Hey im from Germany 🇩🇪 😂👍🏻
What did teller said? I can't understand him covering his mouth like that, does somebody knows?
Avarice
Does Teller say "avarice" at the end? I can't quite make it out.
Yes. He says "avarice" at the end.
What does that mean?
Definition of avarice: excessive or insatiable desire for wealth or gain : greediness, cupidity
"Unfortunately Mister Smart, all Americans look alike to us!" - The Craw
TELLER HAS SPOKEN AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cool! :-)
I get it, the old guy on the left doesn't talk during his magic shows to add a bit of mystery to his "act". But why is he still mute while conducting an interview? What a cocky old bat. I bit he's fun to live with.
He generally does talk in interviews, he was just choosing to be in-character here i guess while the other two chatted.
4:20 Ah, c'mon... Greg Wilson is funny!
OK, ok, he's more like a likable con man, but he is funny as hell. Crazy skills too!
What did Teller say?
What the heck I can see Teller's legs -_-
Teller's shorts lol.
Ryan Hayashi Please teach me Japanese Karate !!!

Why is Teller always silent? Does he have a speech impairment?
It's just his character when performing. It's sort of becoming his trademark. Just search 'Teller speaking' and you'll find interviews where he explains it. but to answer the question, no, he can speak perfectly well
