Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

The fact that Onyx had the confidence to ask for help rather than trying to put the tractor and grain cart in a tight spot says volumes about his maturity. That young man will be an asset to the farm for a very long time!!!

@Wikkitt Klown In this context, "thicc" is the correct term. Somehow, thicc came to denote something that is bigger than something that is thick, and adding another 'c' (i.e. thiccc) denotes another level of thicc-ness. It seems odd, but it's what happens when you put a billion people on one network that can all talk to each other.

Strange thing is that I have been now watching it for the last one year, have never missed a single episode. @Jason There isn’t much to complain about in new equipment. Zachs combines go through 1 15th of what Mikes do, so he’s obviously going to have more breakdowns. Zach also doesn’t run a brand new competitors machine like Mike does. Deere would rather give a guy who bleeds green and has a much larger following a new combine, than a guy who has something fairly new to compare to and is very honest about his issues. Mike bashed and found all kinds of issues with the Ideals. Agco came and fixed them. But Deere doesn’t want their reputation ruined and have to cover it up.

However, he grew up farming in Iowa and was operating tractors at that age so it wasn't a big deal to him. He taught me how to do it safe and especially how to do it right. Soon after I spent my weekends for years mowing the entire block for 5 bucks each. Him entrusting me with the responsibility really helped shape who I am. Isn't it illegal to blend bad quality corn with good coffee corn and sell it at a top dollar and use it for food grade products

    • @fowletm1992

      Depeds how you do it
If you fill the bottom 50% with junk the n the top 50 with good
It'll test out as top quality
Bur if you mix the good ad bad It'll downgrade the good and upgrade the bad to reach a medium quality and that's not illegal and happens all the time in every industry

I've got about 200 years of family history in Minnesota. But the original homestead from my great grand parents was all sold from three different relations. Our side my uncle wasn't a very good person made sure that no one could possible purchase and farm it. There was second cousin and I would have loved to keep two portions of the original farm in the family but it just wasn't in the cards. There are no words to express the feelings when I go back and see the ground I grew up on and started farming working side by side with my relatives. The memories oh the memories.

I know that feeling zach! I got my 7 year old running our deere 4995 selfpropeled discbine by himself and skid loader. He's the 5 generation here. Alot of emotion when you see them role by themselves for the first time. Be safe, dont wreak anything, and do a good job, but its that proud dad moments seeing them grinning from ear to ear know there doing something so great that less than 1.5 % of the population will ever get to do.

A lot of people don’t truly understand family history and heritage especially when it comes to farming. My family started a farm where I live in the early 1800s. Like yours it’s has gone through many puts and takes over the generations but these last 15 years have seen the worst. For the first time in over 150 yrs the land is no longer farmed by a family member. I have worked for nearly 15 yrs to secure my piece and with the help of very gracious friends and family members there is now once again family farming a small part of our ground with the intention that we build a future for the next generation. I for one understand 100%. It is something that the word grateful just doesn’t seem to describe. Farming is rewarding. Farming is hard. It is not a job, it’s a life. Love the videos. Stay safe.
