All my homies are the anti-bush gang, although a very nice and insightful vid, helping me learn the strategies of my enemies, as Sun Tzu once said, *“If you know the enemy and you know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.* If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle”
100%. I have plenty more tutorial videos planned too. Movement, choosing a defensive position, choosing where to attack, etc. And my goal is to shrink the skill gap in the game, with providing all these tips players can add new tactics to their arsenal!
Half my camos are sweaty tryhard bush setups and the other half are the brightest, most obnoxious decals sized and mirrored to cover as much of the vehicle as possible. And then there's my DSHK truck, it's got bushes all over the back but the front/cab of the truck is completely covered with the orange and red checkered roundels.
Not all bushes render in at the same rate, so it's important that to use early rendering bushes on edges and corners. Just zoom out in hanger to check this. Camouflage can also be applied to hide identification. I apply camo to the VK-Panther to disguise it as a regular Panther. So players rarely even bother shooting this models weaker front plate. In reverse, On the Porsche Tiger. I apply bushes only to hide it from being identified as the Porsche variant and leave the strengthened front plate visible as its normally a weak spot. I decorate that one with another troll decal but I don't wanna make that secret famous 😂
I'm an ancient specimen who cultivated his shrubbery before the Warbond shop rework. I've always been using bushes like this, good to know it's the correct way lol I also consider identification; if an enemy takes a second or two to figure out what vehicle I'm in, that gives me all the time to off them.
My brother in War Thunder, you do not need to put up with the barrel auto-adjuster, you can turn that off in the settings and save the precious seconds when engaging
Right click on a vehicle in your hangar at the bottom and select customization from the drop down menu. Camo is under decorations in the bottom right.@@tiitustepponen9849
I despise bushes, so I farmed last battlepass for a bush crate, got a really good one, and now i only use it next to my garden gnome and anniversary cake on top of my tank to balance it out.
I actually started paying more to get new bushes after I stopped caring for their gameplay value. Now I use the most realistic pieces, the pine branches and dry bushes mostly, to simulate how a crew my realistically use them. Obviously no floating BS on the barrels etc., but still with an eye on breaking the silhouette, which does wonders in this shadow=cover game.
In real world application you do whatever you have to. We had nets on our Bradley that were cut around the barrel and turret so the turret and gun would operate unimpeded when need be. But when we were still, in our OPs, you deck that sucker out like it was a Christmas tree! Every aspect of the vehicle is covered with whatever you can find.
@@RoneK_Actual Yeah, but a completely flat wall of loose branches that sits on a right angle to your turret face is usually not possible. One can blame the engine for allowing it, but I won't look at glitchy BS when I play specifically to look at tanks, and I appreciate if others don't do it either.
I think the "loose" branches are clumped together to simulate some sort of netting. Most foliage based camo is woven through netting so they don't fall off. I can also understand how hard it would be for the dev team to model specific netting sizes and shapes for every unique tank in the game. They can only do so much. So they needed a solution that got the desired effect while keeping it within their production capabilities. You can't expect perfection in everything.
Even without the slightly scetchy p2w way the camo is moslty obtained, I have found a lot of people on war thunder don't have the most awareness anyway, as long as you sit still
Agreed, that is why I made my binoculars tutorial. Trying to get people to be more mentally active when playing the game so when people have bushes they can find them.
Good tutorial on an - in my opinion - overpriced element of the game. As I started War Thunder I considered bushes as unfair but now...welll...my eyes are trained enough, so I can distinguish between the natural environment and those applied bushes in most cases. Of course there are occasions where the bushy boi wins but I don't care about that. I do not apply any bushes at all to my tanks. First they cost to much and I consider them unfair against new players. Experienced players will eventually see you anyways and shot at weakspots, regardless if they are covered with bushes. So for me there is no use case for them.
Fair points. I think bushes should be free for all. But 1000GE for a 5 bushes to cover a tank in my opinion isn't bad at all. Because if you use those bushes properly it adds a whole new element to the game you can use to gain the edge. I get it some people don't like that but I think WT is way less P2W as World of Tanks and even if someone can't afford bushes, I am also making tutorials of how to spot bushes. So everyone is represented in my videos.
Great video and explanation, People need to realise this is improvised in real life battles so i dont see a problem...just remember to switch off your engine once positioned.
On some of my turreted tanks, I cover the turret all around instead of trying to hide the frontal plate. Some vehicles with short guns you can hide the barrel to, like the premium russian su-57 TD
I once was playin on a snowy map... with dead trees and stuff like that... very whitey dead nature. And then suddenly... i saw PALM LEAVES OVER THE RIDGE... I LAUGHTED SOOOOO HARD XD
Of course! I am really trying to close the skill gap between high level and low level players so we get a more tactically driven game! I know some may not want that but I would enjoy the challenge! More to come!
Hey you are able to hide like you said you can't place a barrier but you can hide behind buildings also you can drop smoke which blocks their visibility
👍. There’s a few things I dislike about WT’s ge economy system…. I don’t agree on how much your forced to pay if u would like the items they have for ge. Plus some of the items they have for ge there is no need. Ie camo, garage slots, and the extra points u earn…. They already charge a premium price for ge, the cost of ge vehicles, plus what u get when u spend ge…. But they have proven that’s not going to change!
??? The opposite of camo, is a lack of camo which is kinda what tanks start as. You mean like how to conceal yourself using the natural environment, or positioning your self to be less visible? its not a bad idea for a video actually.
@@RoneK_Actual I was originally thinking of how to spot enemies with this camo/bushes, but the other person here mentioned how to conceal with camo, which I believe makes for a far better video for beginners.
@@MikhaelAhava I have actually already made a video on how to effectively get the most of your binoculars! I talk the science behind mental stimulation and how it correlates to war thunder gameplay. I also go over some new scanning techniques to try! It's in my tutorial playlist!

Lov giving all my life saving to the snail
I think you might have bigger issues if your life savings is a few GE...
My man, do you own all of the camo shrubs? Lol
how do you setup to not cover gunner optics and comader binocs?
It's vehicle dependent, after applying camo would go into test drive first and make sure you're good to go.
10:02 what type of bushes did you use on the tiger to camoflage it like that
I use mainly the first two rows of bushes for my tanks in all environments.
If people can afford it use it!
How do I even apply cosmetics in the first place?
