Imaging being called out to one of these jobs and after drilling out the lock you can see that someone has already done this before and the hole is there ready to poke your tool in to lift or drop the snib. Awesome demo sir. 😉👍
Had this problem last night at 3am and couldn’t find the snib. Ended up smashing the whole lock off and was a very long a frustrating process. Thanks for creating this jig will hopefully save me next time!
I've found a little useful thing, if you get a center punch that fits snug through the holes, you don't need to hold the template anymore. Unfortunately the last 2 times I've used this my drill was too big and I couldn't get the angle for the snib hole, I'll get a smaller drill I guess for the angle / wall corner issue. Good tool thanks, made my life much easier.
@GxAxV I couldn't get the angle on the drill as the wall next to the door was too close to where I needed to be. I'm still just starting out but I deffo need a smaller drill for it I think, in your video there is no doorway/corner so you can angle the drill where it needs to be if that makes sense.
@@89Supanova you might kick yourself 😄 sounds like you where trying to drill away from the frame rather than in to it! The back of your drill should be angled away from the wall 👍🏻
Great little tool and a good demo…nice one Gav

I’m curious about the drill being too big? These should all be 6mm or slightly larger. And what is the wall corner issue? Thanks

Brilliant glad it helped, which latch was it on?
@@GxAxV era 40mm dropped snib
what would be your next move if you found the screws holding the lock on had been pointed?
They often are but doesn’t pose much of a problem. They still drill out fine
Very interesting indeed 👍 😎 🍻
Cheers perfect instructions 👌
