Fantastic memories David indeed myself many decades ago i had a dansette record player myself a dansette major in red and white Rexine fabric with a BSR UA 8 auto changer deck brilliant memories of it and the sound of it with the unique smell it had as well especially when the valve amplifier was warm brilliant memories 😊
The Dancette Viva I had in the 70's was all black on the outside with a bright red on the inside. The BSR deck was deep blue with a lighter blue tone arm. It looked awesome.
There's nothing like the sound from a 1960s record player. Well done for fixing this Dave. By the way, the Rotel, Luxman and Stax headphones are working just fine and are sounding great.
Thanks Art, Now working on the HMV repair video. Sorted the hum and mains cable but hit a problem... you will find out soon! Pleased to know your equipment is working wel.l At the Saltford Repair Cafe ik the morning. All the best David
i have the code 2006 HMV which is mid 60s. strangely it runs a bit fast .. almost all 45rpm records are sounding a bit pinky and perky.. is this adjustable ?
The smell of a record player is wonderful indeed.
Like old books and fresh cut grass. Evoks loads of memories. Thanks for your comment.

A worn belt or pinch wheel will cause a speed increase, more obvious on 45rpm. Replacing the worm item should sort the problem. Hope this helps.

A record player should not be put in the attic as it gets damp it is best put in a dry place when not in use i keep mine in a warm room
