A quick basic look at using KID3 to add tags to WAV files

If you’re working as an audio producer, film editor or anything involving professional audio, tags can be very useful for identifying rights holders. For composers it’s a very important way to embed your name, publisher, copyright information and more into your audio file before you send the files out into the ethernet.
Kid3 is an excellent free app. You can download it here:

Do you know if I can create my own tag field name? I mean, I am tagging sample sounds like acoustic drums, electronic drums, percussion sounds, pianos sounds, etc.
It would be really helpful to be able to make my own tag fields like "trend", "model", "genre", "long", "short", "ambiance", "key", etc..

There's no installation file in the kid3 download? the file that is an application just opens up in a windows DOS box

Can you rename the file after the process so that you have a more intelligible file name, but the file itself is still encoded?

Not sure why you'd bother keeping this video up considering you got most of the functionality of the application completely backwards. You should have put up a note at the beginning just like you did throughout the video every time the application did not do what you expected. Should have warned people that you are showing people the wrong way to use the app.
