Thank you, very useful. I was able to replace the red LCD panel (mileage, fuel consumption etc.) in the centre after watching this. Luckily I did not break anything. However, I was silly enough to try to start the engine with the cluster removed and now I get an airbag error. Moral of the story: Do not turn the key with the cluster removed!!
Just clear it off with delphi or vcds its not a big issue

Hi @golf wagen I have a golf mk5 and I dont have computer board, i have Cruise control, Rain sensor and light sensor but dont have computer board, i only have to replace the clutch of wipers or need to change the dash board too?

i just did that and didnt break anything i have 2008 vw golf 5 variant (if you are wondering what i did i did put tape over washer fluid light) ( i dont have sensor for that but light was on) thank you golf wagen ;)
You can desactivate that with vcds, no need to remove anything

Today my instrument board's middle screens, the red with milage, and the one above it are NOT working. Why is that?
I wonder if i replace the dashboard with one that has trip computer does it would work in a car model that doesnt have trip computer.
Yes it would their is just no plug to it. So it probably just won't light up.
Is this plug and play and is the mileage correctly indicated again?

@@Seminari1985 The total kilometres (indication on the left) will stay the same. The 'trip' kilometers (on the right - the ones you can reset after service) will be reset. At least, this is what happened to me, but it may be because I tried to start the engine with the cluster removed..doh!
Vangelis A. Thnx Vangelis, did u change the complete cluster or just the lcd, ive heard if changing just the lcd its better and easier, need to open myself and check if its easy!

I can't seem to the get rid of power steering light. Its orange, can you help?
I looked it up. Start car, turn wheel all the way to left, turn wheel all the way to the right, drive the car car a short distance(around 100ft) at 15-20 mph and the light should go out. This only works if the light came on after a disconnected, dead or jumped battery.

yes they need to be coded. and you need to know the PIN from the new board. and you need to know whether you have an immobilizer 3 or an immobilizer 4 etc.
