    This was very nice for several reasons. The pace of your instruction; not adjusting speed or rewinding to catch what is being done, explanations of what is being done and why, and last but not least, no annoying music in the background, just instruction....well done. Plus it's a beautiful square.

    I am a knitter but I also learned how to crochet as a child. Even though I much prefer knitting, I am embarking on a crochet project. My sister-in-law, a crocheter, died suddenly recently leaving behind her stash of yarn and a pregnant granddaughter. I took the yarn with the idea of making a blanket of some kind for her great-grandchild on the way and as most of her stash is leftover yarn from her other afghan projects, I decided to make granny squares (which I already knew how to do) and join them together in random order. I have never actually joined granny squares into a project so I set out to learn how to do that and found your square that is so beautiful and not your average basic granny square. Your tutorial is perfect for me and once I have used up all the yarn making them I will venture into your others to actually make the blanket. Thank you so much for making this project possible for me. I wanted the blanket to be unique ( which it will be with the small amounts of some of the yarns) and very obvious that is is made out of GG's yarns. I hope it to be something for the baby to treasure as coming from the GG that it will never know.

      It's so touching to hear about your project to create a special blanket for your great-niece or nephew, using the yarn left by your late sister-in-law. Your idea to combine the granny squares made from her stash into a unique, meaningful blanket is a beautiful tribute to her memory. It's wonderful that you're embracing crochet for this project, despite your preference for knitting, to maintain that connection.
      I'm delighted to know that my tutorial for the granny square has been helpful to you. It's great that you're planning to make each square unique and then learn how to join them together. This blanket will undoubtedly be a treasured keepsake, carrying the love and legacy of a great-grandmother they didn’t get to meet.
      Remember, the beauty of such a project lies not only in the finished piece but also in the love, memories, and stories interwoven with each stitch. Your sister-in-law’s craft will continue to warm and comfort a new generation, thanks to your dedication and skill.
      Please feel free to reach out if you need any more help as you progress with your project. I would love to hear more about your journey in making this very special blanket.
      Best wishes on this heartfelt endeavor,
      Marie

    I am making a king size blanket using your beautiful instructions. I am now on my 30th square 🤦🏻‍♀️But absolutely loving it. It’s been getting me through one of the hardest periods of my life as my partner battles cancer and I sit and crochet in various waiting rooms and cancer treatment room. I start the square with a magic circle and then double crochet 16 into it and then straight into the pattern from row 2. You can make your first knot which is a slip knot and work straight into that circle. You can then pull it tight at the end of the first 16 double crochets ❤

    I have wanted to learn how to make a granny square since I learned how to crochet. I have always gotten so discouraged by them, they seemed too complex for me. (I taught myself crochet so I just do very simple things). However, I searched, yet again, on how to make a granny square. Your video popped up in the results and it looked so pretty. I started the video and followed along. I must say.......THANK YOU!!! Your pace and instruction made it so relaxing instead of frustrating. I made 3 right away!! Very easy to follow, turned out beautifully! Now I need to learn the best way to join this squares

    • @AdoreCreaCrochet
      @AdoreCreaCrochet  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're very welcome! 😊❤I'm thrilled to hear that the tutorial was helpful and that your project turned out beautifully. When it comes to joining squares, there are a few methods you can consider based on the type of project and your preferences:
      Whip Stitch: This is a simple method where you sew the squares together using a blunt-ended yarn needle and matching yarn. It creates a seam that's often subtle and is great for blankets.
      Single Crochet Join: This technique involves single crocheting the squares together using slip stitches on the wrong side of the work. It creates a visible ridge but also adds an interesting design element.
      Join As You Go: If you're making a larger project with many squares, this method involves joining the squares together as you create them. It reduces the amount of sewing needed at the end and keeps the project more manageable.
      Flat Braid Join: This technique creates a flat, braided look between squares. It's a bit more complex but creates a visually appealing join.
      Slip Stitch Join: This method is quite easy and creates a flat join, perfect for motifs or granny squares. It works by slip stitching through both loops of the stitches on the squares being joined.
      Consider experimenting with these methods on a few squares to see which one you prefer for your project. The right method often depends on the overall look you're aiming for and the type of project you're making. Happy crocheting!

    All squares made and blocked etc and are now in a gorgeous boho top for my daughter. She really loves it and I feel so happy to have completed it. I was nervous joining the squares but found so much advice online. If I want a bigger size should I add an extra round on each square?

    • @AdoreCreaCrochet
      @AdoreCreaCrochet  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm thrilled to hear that your daughter loves the boho top!🥰 Well done on completing it. If you want to make a bigger size, adding an extra round to each square is a great approach. It will increase the overall size of the garment effectively. Just ensure each square is consistent in size and stitch count as you add the extra round. Happy crocheting on your next project, and enjoy creating more beautiful pieces
