This is my second season made ace at 2200 last season with 500 games played felt like my team needed a change so I’m currently using azu umbreon and switched out escav for cloudsire and I’ve been having some great games out of 36 I’ve won 24 still trying to figure out how I want to use umbreon
I've been running exclusively poliwrath since new season started. Was trying to run lokix with it but started running into more meta stuff by the end of second day. I'm now running poliwrath, cradily, toxapex. I've gone 4-1 most sets today and yesterday but I haven't seen a single gligar. I usually only instaswap on a charm. Most od the time I will icy wind once or twice then catch of soft lose and try to get a shield. There's a lantern on like 80% of teams I see. This has been a very sweaty start of season only top 20 meta on most teams I see now
Agree with this analysis. When playtesting Poliwrath, I found that its energy often times had nowhere to go. Counter is so good at farming down mons, but the ice/water coverage moves are so easily walled by opossing water types, so you just end up chipping and debuffing without doing significant damage
Yah I found it to play out tye same ... even against favorable matchups Poli is typically a safe swap who draws out the opponents safe swap. So Poli just ends up being a debuff mechanism for the mon imma bring in next ... essentially it's a soft L
What do you think about tentacruel? Also do you think I should finally build salazzle for the great league with the new incinerate buff? Obviously very glassy but for some reason i've had this salazzle powered up to the great league line for about a year. It's not great pvp ivs because it was hatched and my other female salandit isn't much better. I also know no one that has actually hatched one yet so I can't trade one for a possible chance to get it better. I get that if I run into any ground/water type with it, it'll get killed very quickly.
definitely give it a try if u dont care abt climbing yet. I had so much fun running mine, Poison fang after 2 incinerates is so good, and even against mud bois u can take them down to the yellow if they overfarm. Its very good at setting up other mons to get ahead on energy bcs of the poison fang debuff
Babyballchin! Kind of a love/hate thing when I see castfom in videos. No one respects the energy from it until they take a super effective shot. 1 shot quite a few swamperts the last couple years.
Avid grabull user, I always double shield even if it is just an x-scissor too squishy. Also Crunch and CL Combat take the same amount of charms so they could have thrown cc if they had it.
It may not be meta for GL rn but it will definitely be meta in UL. It’s one of the best leads and one of the best safe swaps. Probably gonna be used for abb style teams for UL
@@DanOttawaPOGO with roll out its great on lead with so many flyers and not many people familiar with its moveset early on i catch alot of people off guard with the thunderbolt and delete alot of water and fire pokemon looking to let one move through
Yeah I came to the same conclusion when testing it out, it's very strong but the meta is very bad for it. Lanturn being everywhere, it's not easy for it
I feel like this team was kind of doomed from the start no? Not disagreeing with your points on poli but I definitely feel a better team could have done better. Anecdotal. But I’ve gone 12-3 with poliwrath/greedent/carbink. At ranks 8-10 so far
All your gonna see is gonna be meta bc new players are non existent at this point they feel way too far behind to catch up and the fact that they can’t get XL candys till 31 is hella limiting

Is it a must to have PvP IVs on something like Defense Deoxys? Or could it be used in the GL with raid IVs?
You can't trade mythical pokemon so raid ivs are the best we got

I had fun with it last season but it's really glassy. Still won a surprising amount of matches.

I use mud shot on my shadow pwrath because spamming icy winds is too much fun, I also run dynamic punch because we’ll it’s also fun
I might try def deox if I start running into more steels but first I’m ganna try out my great leauge Cressalia

So what would be your recommendation on GL Poliwrath? ice punch coverage or PuP/Dynamic punch?
would hex castform not be overall better?
Also I’m prob gonna run that defense deoxys gligar team prob with either shadow Knine or a grass like meganium mainly for lanterns

Shadow whiscash is a nightmare! It's a more ground-slanted swampert with the same water type damage and pacing. Walls lanturn and outpaces skarmory.
I feal like it can perform well with mud shot in great league
Showcasing serperiors place in this meta could be helpful

Honestly, I don't think counter is the better fast move anymore. Mudshot let's you pile on icy winds
