    VL I used to live in Surrey and moved back to a city south of Seattle. I prefer to go back but cost of living ...yea, expensive. Still BC rocks over Seattle and the puget sound!

    For 700k for a 1500+ sqft townhome do you suggest purchasing a new one or an older townhouse. Saving 5% GST makes no sense when the eventual repairs and higher strata fees for older houses.

    Surrey is seriously underrated, beautiful city and not too expensive. Honestly, I like the bad name that it has that way less people move here.

    Prices are completely greedy and out of any control, that should be regulated, pretty sure those 1,200,000$ca houses cost like 50-80,000$ca to built and people sell them 3x and 4x their price, each time WTF?! And real-state agents jack the prices sky-high to get a better commission, all this selfishness is making people poor, increasing poverty, unemployment and crime

    Lol $1400 for a 1 bedroom in Surrey? Get outta here, South Granville mid 1900s 1 bedroom apartments (way bigger than new rental units) Costs $1450/month.... And you are literally a 7 minute bikeride from downtown... Unless you have genuine reason like Family, work, school, or you want to buy a house, there are comparable prices that arent in the boonies

    Surrey BC is infested with crimes . Roads are a mess. Too much congestion’s. Since it is closer to USA border so drug influx is high. Not enough spaces in schools. Mostly children in the schools are in portables .

    • @alexteixeira8211
      @alexteixeira8211 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      1. Crime has gone down in surrey each year for the past 5 years. Look at Vancouver where it's up over 100% in some areas Surrey looks like heaven.
      2. Proximity to the border has nothing to do with drug influx LOL. White Rock should be infested with drugs if that's the case? It isn't. Drug influx is rampant throughout the lower mainland and with the border being closed since March it has showed that drug production is an issue not so much the import of it from USA. Again why does Vancouver lead the region in OD/Drug use? It's the farthest from the border in the lower mainland.
      3. Surrey has the most schools being built in BC. It also has the highest amount of students in a single school district. This is the reason for the portables which will hopefully become less of an issue in the next 2-3 years.
      4. Congestion. This is an issue in all of metro Vancouver. Surrey traffic is no where near as bad as vancouver, richmond, new west & burnaby. It isn't the best but with the skytrain about to be extended into Fleetwood, Clayton Heights, Cloverdale & Langley by 2025 that will cut down on the amount of cars going in and out of the city.
