I was on a business trip and I watched Interstellar for the first time on the plane. No distractions, just my mobile in my hands with my earbuds jacked in so I could hear every syllable of dialog. When I got home from my work trip, I quit my job and took another one so I could STAY home and watch my 2 young sons grow up. True story..
I just watched it at the cinema for the first time as part of the anniversary re-release. When I saw it a few years ago, I thought it was a great film, now, that I have children, I'm self employed and my work takes up all my time and energy. Constantly travelling all over the country and working all hours every day, on my days off I have no energy to do anything. Seeing the film now makes me want to quit and do what you did.
No matter how much I try not to, I always shed a tear watching interstellar, even after seeing it 6 times. I can't get it out of my head, and it never fails to amaze me, time and time again. Great video, interstellar is a masterpiece and my favorite movie of all time.
This movie is a masterpiece. So many small details that add up to a beautiful story. Brands reaction to Murphy questioning her if she knew it was all a lie is perfect, because they both experience the same emotion. Murphy is question if her father left and abandoned her, and brand is questioning if her father sent her out based on a lie. And I know this movie doesn’t want a sequel. I would be happy with the story of brand on the new planet. Also, Hans Zimmer has performed his songs live, and the interstellar video is on TH-cam.
This was the last movie I watched with my mother at the cinema. She passed 3 months later. I am now a father. It's a movie I want to show my daughter when she is old enough. It is a story about the love and bond that transcends time and space. It's beautiful.
I’ve seen this movie at the very least 10 times and my only complaint is that it’s not long enough lol. If this movie was 6 hours long I’d be glued to the screen the whole time.
Interstellar feels like a direct allegory to my life after I turned 21. I lived in Phoenix making dogshit money, feeding off scraps, toiling in the Arizona heat fixing old supercars. I dreamt of leaving and heading to a whole new part of the world. I finally made it happen and moved all the way to Australia with the hope of building a better life and potentially bringing my girlfriend and parents over there to live with me once everything was settled. Little did I know - this continent would be like nowhere else on this planet. Its a strange mirrored image of America but with deadly beautiful creatures, ancient flora, and dazzling displays of nature in its most unfiltered form. Chaos and uncertainty were the only guaranteed constant as days turned to weeks, and weeks to months, and months to years in a massive blur. Back at home, my family and friends missed me to the point of agony. Some even cut ties with me because they were convinced they would never see me again. As the years went by, the hope of bringing my loved ones over here faded into oblivion, and I began to realise how much I was missing out on. Birthdays, weddings, promotions, arrivals of children, the loss of my soulmate, all happening at home while I may aswell have been on another planet. My friends and family began to noticeably age with the times, and like Cooper watching the video messages, I felt I had missed everything while I stayed exactly the same - and I began to break down. I realised I was on a path that was truly mine, and mine alone. The characters in Interstellar represent the different facets of my ego. Cooper is my will, Brand is my hope, Romilly is my curiosity, TARS is my charisma, CASE is my anxiety, Mann is my fear, and Murphy is my heart. In my manic wanderlust and unshakable urge for adventure - I brought everything with me but my heart. I left behind everything that mattered in my life as a sacrifice for a better future in a new world. Now I'm 30 - still building. Still setting up camp for a family that may never come. My friends have their own homes, families and careers now. My parents have grown old and they struggle with travelling these days. Everyone still asks me to come home, to be with the people who love me, to pick up where we all left off and try to make up for the time we lost. I would love nothing more than to oblige them. But something about this place - this otherwordly continent - makes me want to keep pressing on. Something in my future wants me to S-T-A-Y

Sounds harsh but its true. Being on your phone for 9 hours a day a large chunk of your growing up does mentally cripple you and fuck up your attention span. It's almost like it was intended steer consumers into more easily moldable customers.
This movie made me get into aerospace engineering. It literally changed my life. Im now in my second year and truly have found my passion. Amazing movie and very thought provoking.

i saw this film for the first time at the cinema. shocking experience i will never forget.. then i rewatched the film at least 12 times again. even i made a tatto in my arm about the movie.. it changed me the way i see cinema.
Have heard Cornfield Chase piece 2-3 times per week for the past 10 years. Comes around 1300 times. Still it puts a smile when heard. I bow from my heart towards this piece of work of Hans Zimmer.
I ususally never write these long tangent-type comments, but this topic has been nagging me for the past 7 years. Finally ive found a video that shares my feelings about the movie. but beyond that, i feel like heres the perfect place to leave my own thoughts about the film, and the experience i had during my last watch. (exclaimer: i do understand that a lot of people are against the use of dr*gs, but i truly believe psychedelics are more of a mentally healing medicine than anything when used the proper way and not abused; sometimes even allowing us to see the world in a new and improved light.) In my opinion, interstellar's plot is an interpretation of the meaning of life. i know it sounds crazy coming from a 20 year old, that barley has experienced life, but hear me out. i've always wondered why this movie resonated with me so much for years, so one day i decided to watch this movie by myself on a tab of acid. after my trip, i realized why this movie always made so much sense to me and why ive always questioned why people dislike the ending. i've done higher doses of lsd before, and high doses of mushrooms multiple times before, but on just one tab of acid, watching this movie on a higher state of consciousness was truly one of, if not the most profound experiences ive ever had in my life. and thats saying a lot, since im pretty sure i met god himself when i went insane on 10grams of shrooms, but anyways this movie's central theme is the meaning of love and how powerful it is. the plot centers around a dying earth, where war and conflict is no longer a thing due to there literally not being enough resources to feed humans anymore. we as a planet decided to kick out our ego, and band together to try to find a solution. at front and center of this endeavor, was cooper. cooper in my opinion was the symbol of humanity as a whole, and when he falls into that black hole at the climax, he is physically experiencing the ego death of all humanity, since this was their last shot at saving the planet. as he enters the tesseract within the black-hole's singularity, he realizes that a higher power(a consciously evolved version of humans in the future) was able to create a physical translation of their discovery on how human consciousness doesn't end at death. those futuristic versions of us were able to evolve to a point where they finally cracked the code to existence, where time isnt linear. they finally figured out how to live and experience life and existence to its fullest. my own interpretation of this idea in my regular life is when people say that time flies by when youre having fun, and it goes by slow when you focus on it. i find that to be some sort of mental time dilation, some sort of proof that consciousness is its own sort of energy beyond our physical bodies. which is also why i believe cooper was able to survive being shredded apart by the gravity of the black hole. his physical body died, but his consciousness somehow blended in with the physical singularity of the black hole. thats also why i believe the big bang and the creation of the universe was all connected to consciousness. before the physical world, a consciousness grew in power so strong that it literally bursted and manifested itself into a physical universe. i dont think consciousness was just something that evolved from nothing and only started to exist once sentient life came to be. thats why as life and our collective consciousness as living beings grow larger and smarter, our physical universe also expands at the same time. we also cant be ignorant and assume that we're the only intelligent life that experiences consciousness and time as a linear dimension. anyways beyond the long tangent, one more symbolism of ego in this movie and its death was none other than Dr. Mann. his arrogance and his selfishness to be the hero of the story is a physical manifestation of ego getting in the way of the last chance to save humanity. when he dies in the docking failure, cooper, the symbol of untidiness and lack of ego, was able to manifest a near impossible feat of docking onto a moving booster in order to save his mission. one last idea i gathered from the final tesseract scene was the idea that regrets are another negative aspect of our egos. regrets are our egos getting in the way of learning from our mistakes, and hindering our ability to live life to its fullest. regrets are a way of thinking and telling ourselves that we could've done better, we could've been smarter than that other version of you. i know this is already a commonly understood concept, but i just found it fascinating how it was interpreted in this scene between him and his daughter. it was only after he accepted his "mistake" of leaving his daughter that he started to figure out a solution. i put mistake in quotations, because once he understood the purpose of his actions in that moment, he realized that it wasn't a mistake. he needed that to happen for him to end up exactly where he ended up at. just like in life, the more we harp on regrets and mistakes, the less we're able to evolve and grow as people, eventually coping with substances like alcohol. but its once we realize the purpose of those "mistakes", we finally start to see changes in our mindset and peace of mind. its like the whole concept of how you wouldn't be where you are without past experiences (good or bad), your consciousness would never be able to mature without learning from mistakes. in the case of the movie, the human race would not be able to evolve if the symbol of humanity's ego (matt damons character) doesn't die, and cooper doesn't kill his own ego in the tesseract. alright i've vented enough about this movie. i just wanted wanted to share my thoughts on the internet cuz my friends are probably tired of me talking about it. but i have to recommend anyone that is into reaching enlightenment or peace of mind to try watching this movie on acid just one time. it finally gave me closure on my ideas of consciousness that have just been piling up each time i take psychedelics. it finally allowed me to put my interpretation of the meaning of life and existence into a movie to help me allow other people to truly experience and feel those concepts, and not just understand them. i know people always say they see and learn profound things on psychedelics all the time (which is totally true and why i believe in the universe-conciousness is real), but this movie specifically i think is the perfect movie to watch on a higher state of consciousness. its central themes and ideas can be appreciated to its absolute fullest. ive always wondered why a lot of people don't like this movie or its ending, but i've finally figured it out. this movie truly just isn't about a space expedition to save humanity, its a movie about existence. i truly recommend going into your next viewing with these concepts engrained into your head, and come back to this comment afterwards. take care.

Just saw this movie for the first time in imax. I’m astonished, I can’t seem to get this beautiful movie out of my head. It’s just so beautiful. The characters, emotions, and heart wrenching music that makes my eyes go wide. This movie is and will always be my #1. I just can’t get over how life changing this is. I feel free, open to new experiences that I’ve already felt. 10/10

Nolan is one of the few modern film makers who captures the heart and passion of the pioneers that came before him. This to me is his best film (though i havent seen them all its the best of the ones ive seen from him and still makes an argument for being his best in general)
What's crazy is I just now saw this movie. I thought I had seen it a long time ago but I think I was thinking of "Gravity" with Sandra Bullock. My mind is blown right now at how good that was. Only 10 years late. 😅 Wish I could've seen it in theaters.

The visuals, the score, everything about it was pure cinematic magic. I heard they might bring it back to theaters for its 10 year anniversary, and if that happens, I’ll be there without a doubt! It’s not just a movie; it’s a cinematographic treasure by Christopher Nolan, who in my opinion is the best Movie Director of this era. If you get the chance to see it on the big screen, don’t miss it!
My grandson told me of this film and invited me to watch it with him. He's 21, i'm 71. My first viewing confused me and he had to keep explaining it. On my next viewing, i became better able to appreciate and understand its deep meaning, which satisfies me more fully. Having seen this video, i intend to watch Intersteller yet again armed with still better insights into the complex nature of the films messages. It is quite an amazing movie, i am discovering. Thanks for helping my enjoyement of this important film. It has drawn me closer to my only grandson in a deeply meaningful way.
This was the first movie that my son showed emotion while watching it. He teared up and he was only 9. I think this movie has made a lasting impact on our life.
I saw this for the first time last night. It was rereleased in IMAX and I'm proud of myself for avoiding all spoilers and thus being able to approach it with truly zero expectations. It's a truly spectacular film.
This movie is a masterpiece. Hans Zimmer’s music is amazing… I’m still stunned he never won an Oscar for it…Also stunned that Chris Nolan didn’t even get nominated for Best Director? I can’t comprehend that. I’ve seen the film at least 20 times, each time noticing even more of the plentiful details packed into this film. From the amazing science juxtaposed against human fragility, frailty this film has so many dimensions (emotional and physical). The visuals, the sound and gorgeous score, the acting, the story - it’s all so damn good.
Movie of the Century and my top favourite, I love movies if you can see my poster filled room you could guess it. i wasn't interested in this movie at first, but when i pressed play on this film a couple years back, i have never been the same, truly the best film ever made.
One of the only films that as you age and grow and start a family of your own, hits home so, so hard when you go back and watch it. And the soundtrack...not enough can be said about how incredible the soundtrack is to this movie. It's, in my opinion, one of the best soundtracks of all-time and fits its specific move as well as it possibly can. It's perfection if perfection is possible.
It’s amazing how the movie make you relate to completely unrealistic scenarios that would never happen to you. Like cooper watching the video messages, seeing his children aging without him. I am 17 years old and will never ever be in that position, but man can I feel him nonetheless.
When I was going threw really bad depression!!’ I would put this film on every night to go to sleep to!! the music use to help me relax and the dialog was soo good!!! I love this film more than any other,,, it saved my life…
Seen the Movie 4 or 5 times now. I was lucky to catch in IMAX last night, my IMAX theatre is the best In my region in England. The film blows my mind every single time. I can’t make sense of it fully but every time I watch it I pick up more and more pieces but I just find it a mind blowing movie to watch. It’s so entertaining, not a moment is wasted during the ‘long’ runtime.

I just watched interstellar and its the furst movie ive ever shed a tear too and think its one of the best movies ive ever watched and ever aspect of it is perfect and realizing it will probably be the best movie ive ever watched becuase it made me feel so small and like i should spend all my time wisely and y i should appreciate my life and the time i have here, this movie brought me out of a dark spot were i was feeling depressed it really made me think wich has only happened twice (one by interstellar and once by oppenheimer) and i really appreciate just how good and well made it is that i can watch this and not be depressed or sad or happy is made me feel strange and abit confused but the most strong emotion i can put to words is insignificant, i feel as if i will never come close to how this made me feel and how much i loved every second of this i just wish it would go longer and i can forget i watched it just to see it again and shed the same tear and feel the same way and write the same comment. Coincidentally the only other movie that truly made me feel such deep love and appreciation was another film by Nolan. Oppenheimer. These are in my opinion the 2 best movies ever made. Or at least that I’ve seen.
I was enraptured by this powerful and audacious story. I'm a science/engineering guy and it takes me out of a movie when I see things in it that don't make physical sense or don't look or work like they would really look or work. This movie just about got everything right. I can take some fudging for story purposes - for instance, to get the time dilation on Miller's planet that they're experiencing (over 60,000 times faster) they'd have had to have been almost right on top of Gargantua - but my attitude is, show me what it would really look like if the action on screen were real. But the dramatic aspects were gripping as well, and the realizations you have while watching, OMG. Like, by the time Cooper, Brand, etc. find the wreckage of Miller's pod, quite some time had passed since her thumbs-up message was received on Earth but when Cooper etc. land in their Ranger, the destruction of Miller's pod *had just happened, perhaps only minutes before*.
I was growing magic mushrooms and travelling to the furthest regions of my mind when i came across interstellar. The insights and information i was bringing back felt so important but having a daughter under 5 and another baby daughter watching the film scared the hell out of me. I made a decision to stop travelling and stay grounded with my wife and daughters, that was about 7 years ago but i definitely made the right choice. What scared me the most was goin too far and missing my daughter's lives, the scene where Murph is on her death bed haunted me...turned out to be a really important movie in my life and will probably always hold a special place in my heart.

The attention to detail and understanding of what makes a movie so wounderful is what makes Christopher Nolan so great. Everything in this movie is perfect. The script, actors, editing, cinematography, science and emotion blow me away. Truely the best movie made!
Just finished watching this again for at the very least the 15th time and I’m bawling again just like the first time. One of the very best films ever made and easily Nolan’s masterpiece in my opinion. And the soundtrack, don’t even get me started on that.

I always thought this movie was too long, and I resented watching it in a way. After watching the movie and noticing what you've pointed out. This is a true masterpiece of a film and a celebration of how far stories on the silver-screen have come. This is not a movie but a true film and spectacul. So I'd have to say you make an extremely compelling case to why it is the greatest film of all time.

Agree - one of the greatest movies of all time. And...not long at all. Time went by quickly as I watched it for the first time. For me it was the way it held an emotion of separation with the hope of the reencounter, one that almost doesn't materialize. As a father of girls, I was immediately struck by a sense of sadness when he left Murphy and sat through the performance with a sense that it wouldn't end well. The whole screening was the conflict of heart and mind - the heart desiring for his quick return while the mind knowing that it wouldn't happen. Interstellar is a sci-fi movie that stirs the emotions in a way no other movie of this genre can.
i rewatched this for the first time in 8 years after an edible. wow, what a ride. i love the chick flick in space vibe. so intense and emotional. when i first saw it back when, i thought the tesseract bit to the end was stupid and now its like, idk how i thought that. its absolutely pivitol to the plot.
I regularly don’t cry when I watch movies. Not even heavy things like the Fives Plot of Star Wars the clone wars or all quiet on the western front. But when I saw Interstellar was the first time I actually cried in years and through the whole credits. And the same thing happened when I saw it the second time and I am sure the third won’t be different.

So with our big family, Sun is our family night, my 5th grade daughter is a huge space fan... she recently just filled her notebook with all the names or our moons in our solar system, yes almost 300 of them. Neil DeGrasse Tyson, you better watch it. We started watching this and she was just enthralled. Now it's going to be our Sunday Night Family Night Flick. Such an amazing story.
I didn't feel like it was too long, then again I didn't really feel like The Irishman was too long either. If a movie is good, you get so invested in it that you never even notice the length.

I've watched my daughter growing up since she was so little she could barely fit on my arms so tiny and to think of going away for years and still be the same age when am back while i watch my daughter die as an old woman in her bed i couldnt possibly handle that the thought of missing out on her life would hit me so hard

Yeah, it's one of very few which gets 10/10 for me. For so long my deepest regret was unable to watch it in cinema. Thankfully my local cinema did a rescreen 4 months ago. You bet i won't let this chance slip and it's the best cinema experience i've ever had.

I finally made it happen and moved all the way to Australia with the hope of building a better life and potentially bringing my girlfriend and parents over there to live with me once everything was settled. Little did I know - this continent would be like nowhere else on this planet.
Its a strange mirrored image of America but with deadly beautiful creatures, ancient flora, and dazzling displays of nature in its most unfiltered form. Chaos and uncertainty were the only guaranteed constant as days turned to weeks, and weeks to months, and months to years in a massive blur. Back at home, my family and friends missed me to the point of agony. Some even cut ties with me because they were convinced they would never see me again. As the years went by, the hope of bringing my loved ones over here faded into oblivion, and I began to realise how much I was missing out on. Birthdays, weddings, promotions, arrivals of children, the loss of my soulmate, all happening at home while I may aswell have been on another planet.
My friends and family began to noticeably age with the times, and like Cooper watching the video messages, I felt I had missed everything while I stayed exactly the same - and I began to break down. I realised I was on a path that was truly mine, and mine alone.
The characters in Interstellar represent the different facets of my ego. Cooper is my will, Brand is my hope, Romilly is my curiosity, TARS is my charisma, CASE is my anxiety, Mann is my fear, and Murphy is my heart. In my manic wanderlust and unshakable urge for adventure - I brought everything with me but my heart. I left behind everything that mattered in my life as a sacrifice for a better future in a new world.
Now I'm 30 - still building. Still setting up camp for a family that may never come. My friends have their own homes, families and careers now. My parents have grown old and they struggle with travelling these days. Everyone still asks me to come home, to be with the people who love me, to pick up where we all left off and try to make up for the time we lost. I would love nothing more than to oblige them. But something about this place - this otherwordly continent - makes me want to keep pressing on.

Sounds harsh but its true. Being on your phone for 9 hours a day a large chunk of your growing up does mentally cripple you and fuck up your attention span. It's almost like it was intended steer consumers into more easily moldable customers.

i saw this film for the first time at the cinema. shocking experience i will never forget.. then i rewatched the film at least 12 times again. even i made a tatto in my arm about the movie.. it changed me the way i see cinema.
Have heard Cornfield Chase piece 2-3 times per week for the past 10 years. Comes around 1300 times. Still it puts a smile when heard. I bow from my heart towards this piece of work of Hans Zimmer.

I ususally never write these long tangent-type comments, but this topic has been nagging me for the past 7 years. Finally ive found a video that shares my feelings about the movie. but beyond that, i feel like heres the perfect place to leave my own thoughts about the film, and the experience i had during my last watch. (exclaimer: i do understand that a lot of people are against the use of dr*gs, but i truly believe psychedelics are more of a mentally healing medicine than anything when used the proper way and not abused; sometimes even allowing us to see the world in a new and improved light.)
In my opinion, interstellar's plot is an interpretation of the meaning of life. i know it sounds crazy coming from a 20 year old, that barley has experienced life, but hear me out. i've always wondered why this movie resonated with me so much for years, so one day i decided to watch this movie by myself on a tab of acid. after my trip, i realized why this movie always made so much sense to me and why ive always questioned why people dislike the ending. i've done higher doses of lsd before, and high doses of mushrooms multiple times before, but on just one tab of acid, watching this movie on a higher state of consciousness was truly one of, if not the most profound experiences ive ever had in my life. and thats saying a lot, since im pretty sure i met god himself when i went insane on 10grams of shrooms, but anyways this movie's central theme is the meaning of love and how powerful it is. the plot centers around a dying earth, where war and conflict is no longer a thing due to there literally not being enough resources to feed humans anymore. we as a planet decided to kick out our ego, and band together to try to find a solution.
at front and center of this endeavor, was cooper. cooper in my opinion was the symbol of humanity as a whole, and when he falls into that black hole at the climax, he is physically experiencing the ego death of all humanity, since this was their last shot at saving the planet. as he enters the tesseract within the black-hole's singularity, he realizes that a higher power(a consciously evolved version of humans in the future) was able to create a physical translation of their discovery on how human consciousness doesn't end at death. those futuristic versions of us were able to evolve to a point where they finally cracked the code to existence, where time isnt linear. they finally figured out how to live and experience life and existence to its fullest.
my own interpretation of this idea in my regular life is when people say that time flies by when youre having fun, and it goes by slow when you focus on it. i find that to be some sort of mental time dilation, some sort of proof that consciousness is its own sort of energy beyond our physical bodies. which is also why i believe cooper was able to survive being shredded apart by the gravity of the black hole. his physical body died, but his consciousness somehow blended in with the physical singularity of the black hole. thats also why i believe the big bang and the creation of the universe was all connected to consciousness. before the physical world, a consciousness grew in power so strong that it literally bursted and manifested itself into a physical universe. i dont think consciousness was just something that evolved from nothing and only started to exist once sentient life came to be. thats why as life and our collective consciousness as living beings grow larger and smarter, our physical universe also expands at the same time. we also cant be ignorant and assume that we're the only intelligent life that experiences consciousness and time as a linear dimension.
anyways beyond the long tangent, one more symbolism of ego in this movie and its death was none other than Dr. Mann. his arrogance and his selfishness to be the hero of the story is a physical manifestation of ego getting in the way of the last chance to save humanity. when he dies in the docking failure, cooper, the symbol of untidiness and lack of ego, was able to manifest a near impossible feat of docking onto a moving booster in order to save his mission.
one last idea i gathered from the final tesseract scene was the idea that regrets are another negative aspect of our egos. regrets are our egos getting in the way of learning from our mistakes, and hindering our ability to live life to its fullest. regrets are a way of thinking and telling ourselves that we could've done better, we could've been smarter than that other version of you. i know this is already a commonly understood concept, but i just found it fascinating how it was interpreted in this scene between him and his daughter. it was only after he accepted his "mistake" of leaving his daughter that he started to figure out a solution. i put mistake in quotations, because once he understood the purpose of his actions in that moment, he realized that it wasn't a mistake. he needed that to happen for him to end up exactly where he ended up at. just like in life, the more we harp on regrets and mistakes, the less we're able to evolve and grow as people, eventually coping with substances like alcohol. but its once we realize the purpose of those "mistakes", we finally start to see changes in our mindset and peace of mind. its like the whole concept of how you wouldn't be where you are without past experiences (good or bad), your consciousness would never be able to mature without learning from mistakes. in the case of the movie, the human race would not be able to evolve if the symbol of humanity's ego (matt damons character) doesn't die, and cooper doesn't kill his own ego in the tesseract.
alright i've vented enough about this movie. i just wanted wanted to share my thoughts on the internet cuz my friends are probably tired of me talking about it. but i have to recommend anyone that is into reaching enlightenment or peace of mind to try watching this movie on acid just one time. it finally gave me closure on my ideas of consciousness that have just been piling up each time i take psychedelics. it finally allowed me to put my interpretation of the meaning of life and existence into a movie to help me allow other people to truly experience and feel those concepts, and not just understand them.
i know people always say they see and learn profound things on psychedelics all the time (which is totally true and why i believe in the universe-conciousness is real), but this movie specifically i think is the perfect movie to watch on a higher state of consciousness. its central themes and ideas can be appreciated to its absolute fullest. ive always wondered why a lot of people don't like this movie or its ending, but i've finally figured it out. this movie truly just isn't about a space expedition to save humanity, its a movie about existence.
i truly recommend going into your next viewing with these concepts engrained into your head, and come back to this comment afterwards.

The characters, emotions, and heart wrenching music that makes my eyes go wide. This movie is and will always be my #1. I just can’t get over how life changing this is. Nolan is one of the few modern film makers who captures the heart and passion of the pioneers that came before him. This to me is his best film (though i havent seen them all its the best of the ones ive seen from him and still makes an argument for being his best in general)
What's crazy is I just now saw this movie. I thought I had seen it a long time ago but I think I was thinking of "Gravity" with Sandra Bullock. My mind is blown right now at how good that was. Only 10 years late. 😅 Wish I could've seen it in theaters.

It’s not just a movie; it’s a cinematographic treasure by Christopher Nolan, who in my opinion is the best Movie Director of this era. My grandson told me of this film and invited me to watch it with him. He's 21, i'm 71.
My first viewing confused me and he had to keep explaining it. On my next viewing, i became better able to appreciate and understand its deep meaning, which satisfies me more fully. Having seen this video, i intend to watch Intersteller yet again armed with still better insights into the complex nature of the films messages. It is quite an amazing movie, i am discovering. Thanks for helping my enjoyement of this important film. It has drawn me closer to my only grandson in a deeply meaningful way.
This was the first movie that my son showed emotion while watching it. He teared up and he was only 9. I think this movie has made a lasting impact on our life.
I saw this for the first time last night. It was rereleased in IMAX and I'm proud of myself for avoiding all spoilers and thus being able to approach it with truly zero expectations.

This movie is a masterpiece. Hans Zimmer’s music is amazing… I’m still stunned he never won an Oscar for it…Also stunned that Chris Nolan didn’t even get nominated for Best Director? I can’t comprehend that. I’ve seen the film at least 20 times, each time noticing even more of the plentiful details packed into this film. From the amazing science juxtaposed against human fragility, frailty this film has so many dimensions (emotional and physical). The visuals, the sound and gorgeous score, the acting, the story - it’s all so damn good.
Movie of the Century and my top favourite, I love movies if you can see my poster filled room you could guess it. i wasn't interested in this movie at first, but when i pressed play on this film a couple years back, i have never been the same, truly the best film ever made.
One of the only films that as you age and grow and start a family of your own, hits home so, so hard when you go back and watch it. And the soundtrack...not enough can be said about how incredible the soundtrack is to this movie. It's, in my opinion, one of the best soundtracks of all-time and fits its specific move as well as it possibly can. It's perfection if perfection is possible.

Seen the Movie 4 or 5 times now. I was lucky to catch in IMAX last night, my IMAX theatre is the best In my region in England.
The film blows my mind every single time. I can’t make sense of it fully but every time I watch it I pick up more and more pieces but I just find it a mind blowing movie to watch.
It’s so entertaining, not a moment is wasted during the ‘long’ runtime.
I am a divorced dad of two with 44/56 custody of my daughters. I sacrificed my time with them growing up so they could have a better life. I'm Cooper and I didn't have to fly into fucking space to do it. Interstellar is the greatest love movie of all time and it's the story of millions of single parents around the world...

I just watched interstellar and its the furst movie ive ever shed a tear too and think its one of the best movies ive ever watched and ever aspect of it is perfect and realizing it will probably be the best movie ive ever watched becuase it made me feel so small and like i should spend all my time wisely and y i should appreciate my life and the time i have here, this movie brought me out of a dark spot were i was feeling depressed it really made me think wich has only happened twice (one by interstellar and once by oppenheimer) and i really appreciate just how good and well made it is that i can watch this and not be depressed or sad or happy is made me feel strange and abit confused but the most strong emotion i can put to words is insignificant, i feel as if i will never come close to how this made me feel and how much i loved every second of this i just wish it would go longer and i can forget i watched it just to see it again and shed the same tear and feel the same way and write the same comment. Coincidentally the only other movie that truly made me feel such deep love and appreciation was another film by Nolan. Oppenheimer. These are in my opinion the 2 best movies ever made. Or at least that I’ve seen.
I was enraptured by this powerful and audacious story. I'm a science/engineering guy and it takes me out of a movie when I see things in it that don't make physical sense or don't look or work like they would really look or work. This movie just about got everything right. I can take some fudging for story purposes - for instance, to get the time dilation on Miller's planet that they're experiencing (over 60,000 times faster) they'd have had to have been almost right on top of Gargantua - but my attitude is, show me what it would really look like if the action on screen were real. But the dramatic aspects were gripping as well, and the realizations you have while watching, OMG. Like, by the time Cooper, Brand, etc. find the wreckage of Miller's pod, quite some time had passed since her thumbs-up message was received on Earth but when Cooper etc. land in their Ranger, the destruction of Miller's pod *had just happened, perhaps only minutes before*.
Haven't been so close to crying at a movie since return of the king.
It’s not just the movie, it was the beautiful soundtrack it is without a doubt the best move I’ve ever seen.
I was growing magic mushrooms and travelling to the furthest regions of my mind when i came across interstellar. The insights and information i was bringing back felt so important but having a daughter under 5 and another baby daughter watching the film scared the hell out of me. I made a decision to stop travelling and stay grounded with my wife and daughters, that was about 7 years ago but i definitely made the right choice. What scared me the most was goin too far and missing my daughter's lives, the scene where Murph is on her death bed haunted me...turned out to be a really important movie in my life and will probably always hold a special place in my heart.

I always thought this movie was too long, and I resented watching it in a way. After watching the movie and noticing what you've pointed out. This is a true masterpiece of a film and a celebration of how far stories on the silver-screen have come. This is not a movie but a true film and spectacul. So I'd have to say you make an extremely compelling case to why it is the greatest film of all time.
I’m glad so many people like this as much as me.. I’d have to revamp my list but this may be number 1 on mine, absolutely blown away and mesmerized by the journey and story of the characters and the happenings there of
Agree - one of the greatest movies of all time. And...not long at all. Time went by quickly as I watched it for the first time. For me it was the way it held an emotion of separation with the hope of the reencounter, one that almost doesn't materialize. As a father of girls, I was immediately struck by a sense of sadness when he left Murphy and sat through the performance with a sense that it wouldn't end well. The whole screening was the conflict of heart and mind - the heart desiring for his quick return while the mind knowing that it wouldn't happen. Interstellar is a sci-fi movie that stirs the emotions in a way no other movie of this genre can.
i rewatched this for the first time in 8 years after an edible. wow, what a ride. i love the chick flick in space vibe. so intense and emotional. when i first saw it back when, i thought the tesseract bit to the end was stupid and now its like, idk how i thought that. its absolutely pivitol to the plot.

I regularly don’t cry when I watch movies. Not even heavy things like the Fives Plot of Star Wars the clone wars or all quiet on the western front. But when I saw Interstellar was the first time I actually cried in years and through the whole credits. And the same thing happened when I saw it the second time and I am sure the third won’t be different.

So with our big family, Sun is our family night, my 5th grade daughter is a huge space fan... she recently just filled her notebook with all the names or our moons in our solar system, yes almost 300 of them. Neil DeGrasse Tyson, you better watch it. We started watching this and she was just enthralled. Now it's going to be our Sunday Night Family Night Flick. Such an amazing story.

Yeah, it's one of very few which gets 10/10 for me. For so long my deepest regret was unable to watch it in cinema. Thankfully my local cinema did a rescreen 4 months ago. You bet i won't let this chance slip and it's the best cinema experience i've ever had.
