Yes mate the maiden's can throw up some lovely pollock! However I just seen a handful of guys take around 20-30 of them home 😩 generally I would take around 5 per year! So it'll probably get spoiled after my videos show casing the place 😔
@@Barbedhookfishing that brutal that many, can’t need that many real. Shame I’d even not take too many rag or lug when I’m digging got to be some sustainability for the youngsters coming up fishing.

Really enjoying your channel (recent subber) I recently picked up a wee Honwave T30 ae for some fishing at the caravan in Ballywalter, then nipped down to Sands Marine last week and bought a new 6hp Mariner. I'll probably not get much use out of it this season as lately the sea has been full of white horses, but watching your exploits in and around Larne is the next best thing, especially the catch and cook episodes. Tight lines to you and the ferryman and the local content is so refreshing. ATVB Billy 👍
Thanks Billy, much appreciated! That wee set up you have bought will be perfect for nipping around the coastlines 👌 I started off with a 2.7m inflatable and a 4hp motor and it done the job rightly! The wee 6hp Will be a doddle, get yourself a tiler extension and get your weight into the middle of the boat, you'll get on the plane quicker and you'll get more speed. Hope you Enjoy!! ✅👍🎣
I fish there all the time, if you want Cole fish every cast go to Hunters reef between the large boye markers. Some good ling there too at the lighthouses 👍 it’s definitely a pouting
Thanks, My initial thought was a pouting too! Nice little fish, wouldn't mind catching a 2lb one for the pan! Yes we fish Hunters sometimes but seem to have better sport at the Maidens. Plenty of mackerel about atm too around Ballygally 👍
Alright mate yes had a good bag of mackerel the other day. The tide runs pretty strong at Hunters and can only really get a comfortable fish at either side of high tide. I’m just back from a pike trip to Enniskillen. Do you ever try there ? Some spot 🎣
@@NorthernIrelandFishingReports Yes I go to Enniskillen regularly over the winter on the boat. Mostly fishing the margins with big lures and the odd bit of deadbaiting. Nows the time to go with the temperature changing 👌 I'm hoping to make alot of pike content this winter all being well!
What clothing do you wear on the boat? Waders, drysuit etc? I’ve seen so many debates in forums in terms of safety of waders and drysuit being too sweaty that I’m stuck what to buy. I’ll be beach launching, not sure if you beach launch or use a slipway but just trying to figure out what works for ppl?
I usually wear chest waders as I am walking into the water to launch and retrieve. Benefits of these on sibs it also keeps your bum dry from any splashing and clothes clean. A life jacket will keep you safe and good practice of being sensible on board. I currently use wellie boots as my waders have ripped, cheap crap from amazon.. So I am currently in search of waist waders around £100.
@@Barbedhookfishing I was looking at chest waders and waist waders, I saw some waist waders by Vass for around £75 on Glasgow angling centre. Do you find chest waders uncomfortable to wear in the sib or are they fine wearing them while fishing?
@@estd1984 They're 100% comfortable yes. Vass are a good brand and good quality I was looking at them last week , there's a good chance I will buy them, or Ocean Waist waders. They're the best but hard to get!! Will last a lifetime.
It's called a Honwave T35,made by Honda. It has an aluminium floor, hooks could certainly puncture the tubes but I don't plan on trying that out 😆 It has 4 Chambers to pump air into, even If a hook pierced a single tube it wouldn't sink, I would also quickly tape it up as the hole would be that small. I never have any worries over that, a huge community of ppl around the world fish from Inflatable boats. They're so good and great fun too ✅😁

@@kopanatipoleswararao4635 The water I fish in has been overfished for years, and trawlers have wiped it out so I only take a fish when I need one. I don't like to kill too many , but yes the fish I catch in these videos are perfect eating fish 👌

Couple of beauties in there, was off Ballycastle the other week, Pollock big out there and beautiful curry after.
