I know this is almost 3 years old but I hope you still check your comments. I am just in awe of the work you do. You're my mentor/muse/hero LOL. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the community!
I like videos done in real time like this because my sister and I make polymer clay things as a sister bonding type hobby and she sometimes doesn't understand that those tutorials that are only six minutes long are sped up so she thinks it can be done in 6 minutes and then we take half and hour to do it and she's like "why does this take so long? The videos was five minutes." So it's nice to see how long it would really take us to do this.
Kaylee Hogness Thank you. The number one complaint on my videos is the length. I have started speeding up simpler items, but things that have a lot of work really need to show the details.
Thank you for explaining this so well and including tips! I've watched so many of these fruit cane vids as a beginner & no one bothers to mention WHY they're doing what they're doing, and definitely no trouble shooting potential problems. You've probably saved me hours and pounds of clay.....
Miguel, lol.... So funny, I had to go watch to see which nails I had. Those were my smore themed nails. I was having my nails done every few weeks. My nails tend to be pretty thin, so I was having hard gels on them. Since I am now learning to play the harp, I keep my nails super short, without any polish. Your message made me laugh, thanks :)
I appreciate you working through the process real time, I am just learning how to work with polymer clay, so THANK YOU! I would have liked to see you blend your colors, but thank you for giving the color names. And yes, thank you for making a huge cane so we can see :) That was a really great tip about reducing the edges first to conserve as much of the cane as possible. Keep the tutorials coming! Thank you, Heather!
Maya, My daughter loves Hetalia, she is 13. Sometimes there will be Hetalia, Black Butler, or The Host Club in the backgroud really low. For video games there may be Animal Crossing (I play that too), Hatsune Miku, or Mine Craft

+vanessa ray It is funny, Quite a few people have mentioned ASMR to me, in regards to my voice. I have thought about it, but definitely didn't want to put them up on this channel, and I don't know much about ASMR. There are actually a few books that I really enjoyed, but are not on audible, I wish I could find an audio version of them. If I didn't have to worry about copyright I would be happy to record them.
Yes I would love to see more cane work. Maybe some hard hard candy type of canes...but I'd be happy with any cane work. I saw some complain about how long the videos you make are, I think they are great if its too long they can scroll through till they are at the part the want. It takes a lot to get all the steps in to a video and your video are some of the most informative videos on clay making I've ever seen. I love how you do even the colors and how you got to that color... Please leave the video length.

I read about it in a book by a fimo artist, who said their canes would end up distorted if they didn’t. The few I tried before coming across his were distorted so I tried… and for some reason I don’t understand… it worked for me so I never looked back
interesting! I watched to learn the colors to blend, however, I think i would prefer to roll a long tube, shape it into a wedge, and cut into 8 or 9 lengths, then add the white and outer colors. That way not so much reduction needed.

It would be great if you could tell what thickness you rolled the clay that you wrap the cane with.
It would be the thickest setting to second thickest setting on your pasta roller

Can we make cold porcelain clay lemon cane like This...is it possible...... just for instant (immediate) use and one time use cane...
I am not sure. I never worked with the cold porcelain. I hope one of my subscribers can answer this if they see your question
I've never seen anyone condense a cane like that. They've always started in the center and moved out. What's the reason for doing it like this?
I read about it in a book by a fimo artist, who said their canes would end up distorted if they didn’t. The few I tried before coming across his were distorted so I tried… and for some reason I don’t understand… it worked for me so I never looked back
How long do you bake the canes for before you can slice then without ruining the shape. I can’t seem to find an answer to that
Depends on thickness. The little ones were 15 minute bakes
To prevent the cane slices from becoming sort of deformed when you slice them, just use a rocking motion back and forth when you slice your canes.

I've watched the video... When I bake the slices or lime, can i bake them with hardware to use for jewelry making?
I have baked them with the headpins in them. Just make sure there isnt finishes on the metal that would produce toxic fumes
Also… no glaze or varnish in the oven
Best lime video
Thank you
That looks cute!!
Thank you
Amazing. But how do u bake them?
You can just bake them in a regular kitchen oven. There will be baking instructions on the package of clay.

Heather Wells ok, thank you
wow I love your tutorial, would you knw how to to make like minitue tea services you could hang on bracelet? would love to see something like that.
Thank you so much
How long do you bake for and at what temperature? Thanks!
It depends on your clay, check the packaging :)
I use premo mostly, and I bake an average of 17 minutes each time. It depends on the size, the directions are also on the packages of clay :)
Can you cut them after they're cooked?
Absolutely. For nail art, and often Miniature deserts you bake the canes, then slice very thin slices after.
Do you still do clay? Videos?
Thank you for asking. The journal was the last clay piece I did. I am doing other crafts. I will probably film new polymer clay in 2023
