I will try to catch up on all the written tutorials, but I am not sure about a book. Each of my written tutorials are so long :) lol. Thank you so much though. I really appreciate it. Heather
Heather Wells I advertise for authors on Facebook and do covers, and edits, I could help you with one. it would be great for the Polymer clay mini food era. ;)
I have been looking for a tutorial on how to make perfect fondant candy and lollipop cake decorations for a year. I always extrude each color and twist them which looks fine-but not like your lollies, and then (happily!!! so happily!) I came across your video while watching crafting videos. I think this method will work perfectly for fondant and I am so excited to try it! Thank you so much!! They are perfect. :)
You make it all look so easy !! Can't wait to try this !!! It's a good idea to do themes... Loved all the cherries , looking forward to more rainbow stuff !! Well done Heather x
Hi heather! Just wondering, do your lollipop sticks bend? I made some but they are very flexible...I know polymer clay is supposed to me somewhat flexible but I wasn't really expecting them to be so bendy :/
Paola Julissa you can add a little piece of wire in it before baking but you'd have to bake them in the size you would want. it will help not be so bendy
Thank you :) I will eventually show other canes as well. I will try to do a quick tutorial sometime soon about storing them unbaked for short periods of time, in case you don't use up the cane in one sitting. Heather
Now I'm craving cherry flavored candy sticks :D These are very cute.....finally got some translucent clay....these are on my list to make. Thanks Heather !!!
Your Welcome! I use translucent constantly :) If you have left over color, add a little more translucent to each color for rainbow cake, if you like rainbow cake :) I will try to get a tutorial up for rainbow cake soon. Heather
where would you buy the lollipop sticks? sorry i think i missed that if you ever mention it. =) love it so much and very educational for beginners like me!
Dirty how? Do you mean will it pick up lint? Whit is a pain to deal with, but the colors stay pretty vivid and seperate until they get super tiny. I do work on a few sheets of white paper, and remove the top sheet when I am working with white. Heather
You can mix some red purple and translucent. Sadly the store near me doesn’t have a good selection now. I will check when I make it to the store.. to see if they start bringing in more polymer clay supplies
Hi Heather! Thanks for the great video! Been making lollipops for a while now and I'm reaaaalllyy frustrated because my colors don't end up as even stripes. Some clays are softer than others so they splay out wider. This results in uneven coloration. Do you have any tips on how to avoid this? Also I've been using Sculpey. Does Fimo have more consistent textures? Help! Lol. And thanks in advance!
That is adorable! Can't wait to do it. Your nails are gorgeous but I just gotta ask...how do you not put stabs in your designs. lol. I have short nubby nails and I stab everything I do no matter how careful I try to be, but I am a newby. You are amazing and I can't thank you enough for sharing your beautiful talent!
patience sweet heart. practice being gentle & pay more attention to it you'll get it! i believe in you ! Jesus gave you the talent & he will. cultivate it.
+AmyTheJawsTerminator making an eyeball cane would be the same type of idea with the rolling out but it would be a totally different mixture of colours and different patterns
I don't know if you are monitoring this anymore but you are amazing! I have come back to you time and time again for your wonderful instructions. Your voice is soft, clear and easy to listen to....and I love how you just have a little chat with your son and keep going :)
Thank you so much!!!! This is the first time checking my comments in a few years .... I will try to film an update sometime in the near future just to let everyone know I am still alive lol
@@heathernwells I just saw this message from you from 3 months ago! I still follow your instructions and videos and have successfully recreated this cane....but it makes tons ! lol
Thanks you for your question. I have no idea if lollipops sticks have a specific name other than lollipop sticks. I have seen real one for sale in candy making/ baking shops. But that was quite some time ago
Elaine Contreras Sorry about the delay. I actually make the hole after they are baked. It works well with premo, but that will crack SculpeyIII. If you are using a more brittle clay you will want to poke a head pin through right before baking.
Your work is very good but VERY long!! Is there any way you can shorten because I know of a few other TH-cam clay artists that do things like yours but their videos are 4-8 minutes long. :3 :3
I know they are quite long. I hope you are willing to over look the length, or don't mind skipping ahead if there are parts that you already know how to do. I want to make sure that the people just starting to get involved with polymer clay can understand it easier, than if I would do a double or triple speed. Heather
Oh my gosh!!!! They look like the ones I used to beg for as a kid lol!!! Amazing!
I loved looking at them as a kid. Disneyland and fairs always had them :)
Have you thought about publishing a book? I think it would be amazing
I will try to catch up on all the written tutorials, but I am not sure about a book. Each of my written tutorials are so long :) lol.
Thank you so much though. I really appreciate it.
Heather
Heather Wells I would buy a book of yours! Just keep it in mind, you never know :) You are an amazing clay artist btw!

Did it work for fondant? I hope it did
Sticks of this cane would also make cute little candles for a rainbow cake (Heather has a tutorial for that) if you just add a tiny wick!
Tse
This is awesome! You explain things soooo well.
You make it all look so easy !! Can't wait to try this !!!
It's a good idea to do themes... Loved all the cherries , looking forward to more rainbow stuff !! Well done Heather x
Thank you Jacqui :)
I am trying to decide between burgers and hot dogs..etc.., or breakfast for the next theme.
I have been watching you videos all night, I have truly enjoyed them.
I am going out tomorrow to get some clay
Linda Ferera Thank you so much, That is such a kind compliment. I hope you really like it. I am sadly addicted to polymer clay lol...
+Heather Wells same. lol!
Hi heather! Just wondering, do your lollipop sticks bend? I made some but they are very flexible...I know polymer clay is supposed to me somewhat flexible but I wasn't really expecting them to be so bendy :/
They are bendy. The thinner they are the more it will be like that.
Paola Julissa you can add a little piece of wire in it before baking but you'd have to bake them in the size you would want. it will help not be so bendy
Can you use oil pastels for polymer clay shading???💟please reply💟
Yes you can
That looks gorgeous, very realistic! I love that you showed us how to make a cane so that it can be modified to any size :)
Thank you :)
I will eventually show other canes as well. I will try to do a quick tutorial sometime soon about storing them unbaked for short periods of time, in case you don't use up the cane in one sitting.
Heather
So cute Heather! I love it
Thank you so much :)
It is nice seeing your avi again
Heather
Awesome as always!
Thank you so much :)
Heather
That looks amazing! But what if I don't have liquid clay? What else do you recommend?
Creating the hole, then using clear glue after it is completely baked
No glue in the oven :)
You made that look so simple! I have to try it!
Thanks Jamie, I hope it turns out great for you :)
Can I use premo translucent instead?
I love your nail polish ❤
Thank you
Now I'm craving cherry flavored candy sticks :D

Heather
how did you do your nails heather wells?
Can I use polymer clay kit or do I have to get all the different ones you mentioned in your description tutorial?
As long as you have primary colors, plenty of translucent and white you can mix till you have the colors you like
where would you buy the lollipop sticks? sorry i think i missed that if you ever mention it. =) love it so much and very educational for beginners like me!
Crimson Manuelpillai she made them, she talked about it in the beginning of the video.
I just made really thin snakes, baked them, then cut them after baking
This is amazing, I can't wait to try it! By the way I love the themes!
Thank you :)
I thought themes would be good, so anyone who likes the theme can make enough themed items for a bracelet
:)
Heather
I love ur butterfly nails
Sarah Hamilton Thank you so much!
Mine always looks really bad, but your tutorial was easy to follow and my lollipop never looked better:) you deserve more subs.
Thank you so much!
Heather
I am so glad that it helped :)
I love it! But will it be dirty?
Dirty how? Do you mean will it pick up lint? Whit is a pain to deal with, but the colors stay pretty vivid and seperate until they get super tiny. I do work on a few sheets of white paper, and remove the top sheet when I am working with white.
Heather
I can’t seem to find the Scupley III plum. Do you have a recommendation for an alternative or color recipe? Thank you!
You can mix some red purple and translucent. Sadly the store near me doesn’t have a good selection now. I will check when I make it to the store.. to see if they start bringing in more polymer clay supplies
Thank you, great tutorial ! 😍

Tina Cris promo works the best.
Fimo was used by cane makers and artists when I learned. I enjoyed Premo - sculpey ll was way too soft and brittle to do much with
So cute!
Where did you get your mini lollipop sticks?
I make them by rolling out a log of white clay. After it is baked, I cut it up into the sticks.
Ohhh! Okay, thank you :)
Your video's are very good for the beginners. Most people's video dont have them talking you thru the instructions. Keep up the good work. Thanks.
Thank you so much
No one can eat clay so what type of cooking clay are u working with
or is this fondant
Kiaria f Davis is polymer clay... it needs to be baked to cure... it's not any kind of "cooking" clay.
This is a plastic clay. Non edible. Thank you so much for asking. Premo polymer clay
Hi! I was wondering why do you mix all the colours with translucent fimo. Does that make them look more realistic after baking?
I personally think it does. The colors look brighter to me. When I have done the without the translucent, they turn out much darker.
Heather Wells
I see :D I can't wait to try this! I love your videos btw, you give useful tips :)
Thank you so much for watching, and the kind compliment. I hope it turns out well for you
it all started with your tutorials thank you so much
Thank you
Wooow very nice! What clay you using? Lovely so nice!!!

Short nails are best.. I just thought when I started TH-cam that people wouldn’t want plain nails.
Formidable tuto merci beaucoup😊!
Heather do you have a tutorial on how to make the canes and also on making the ice cream cones? Thank you Heather J.
There are tutorials on those as well. Thank you so much.
I'm so IN LOVE with your channel....
Thank you so much. I am so glad you like it :)
Porque no se seca en transcurso de la elaboración?
It is a plasticized clay that cures in the oven. I could usually work with it up to a week if the weather isn’t too cold
were can i get the polymer clay
Craft stores like, Joann's, Micheals, or online
Would making eyeball canes be similar to this? Or would it be entirely different? :0
+AmyTheJawsTerminator making an eyeball cane would be the same type of idea with the rolling out but it would be a totally different mixture of colours and different patterns

What are the sticks called ?
Thanks you for your question. I have no idea if lollipops sticks have a specific name other than lollipop sticks. I have seen real one for sale in candy making/ baking shops. But that was quite some time ago

I poked a pin through them after the were fully cured and cooled

Samantha Barrett Fimo is acually supposed to be the best clay for cane work. thanks for watching my video

Thanks so much! 😘💕♥️
do you have an Etsy shop?
pathways678 she use to, she quite. she had a video of why
Thank you so much! I closed years ago. Because Chinese factories found my shop and were trying to replicate my designs and sell them to big box stores
대박이네요
박준서 Thank you so much!
I'm so into this
Thank you so much
I kinda think you should just have alternated between white, color, white, color ect until you filled the whole log up.
Sometimes it works out when I do it that way, but sometimes I run out of room :(
Haha understandable.
What's your easy shop name
Sorry I missed your question, here is my shop.
www.etsy.com/shop/Sweetnsavorytrinkets?ref=si_shop
Thankyou
You rock keep it up👏
If you start prowling and prowling it does not look like lolypop it looks like rainbow care.
😊
Can you eat it
No :(
Thank you so much for watching and taking the tine to comment. It is a plastic sort of clay, then once you bake it, turns hard
You are so good
Thank you so much!
I am so glad you liked the video.
Heather :)
