    I have been looking for a tutorial on how to make perfect fondant candy and lollipop cake decorations for a year. I always extrude each color and twist them which looks fine-but not like your lollies, and then (happily!!! so happily!) I came across your video while watching crafting videos. I think this method will work perfectly for fondant and I am so excited to try it! Thank you so much!! They are perfect. :)

    Sticks of this cane would also make cute little candles for a rainbow cake (Heather has a tutorial for that) if you just add a tiny wick!

    Hi heather! Just wondering, do your lollipop sticks bend? I made some but they are very flexible...I know polymer clay is supposed to me somewhat flexible but I wasn't really expecting them to be so bendy :/

    • @heathernwells
      @heathernwells  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are bendy. The thinner they are the more it will be like that.

    • @ronieGirl327
      @ronieGirl327 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Paola Julissa you can add a little piece of wire in it before baking but you'd have to bake them in the size you would want. it will help not be so bendy

      Dirty how? Do you mean will it pick up lint? Whit is a pain to deal with, but the colors stay pretty vivid and seperate until they get super tiny. I do work on a few sheets of white paper, and remove the top sheet when I am working with white.

    Hi Heather! Thanks for the great video! Been making lollipops for a while now and I'm reaaaalllyy frustrated because my colors don't end up as even stripes. Some clays are softer than others so they splay out wider. This results in uneven coloration. Do you have any tips on how to avoid this? Also I've been using Sculpey. Does Fimo have more consistent textures? Help! Lol. And thanks in advance!

    • @heathernwells

      Elaine Contreras Sorry about the delay. I actually make the hole after they are baked. It works well with premo, but that will crack SculpeyIII. If you are using a more brittle clay you will want to poke a head pin through right before baking.

    • @heathernwells
      @heathernwells  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know they are quite long. I hope you are willing to over look the length, or don't mind skipping ahead if there are parts that you already know how to do. I want to make sure that the people just starting to get involved with polymer clay can understand it easier, than if I would do a double or triple speed.
