  • This is a video in which I rank from least worthy..to best, the cars and brands that you want to focus on when looking for collectible 1/43 scale race cars. I have excluded Formula 1, Nascar, and rally cars. The brands on this list have to make 1/43 GT and Prototype race cars competing in IMSA, WEC, and Le Mans series around the globe. They have to make cars that are collectible and affordable to the average Joe. And they have to make cars that you can find available on eBay and other collectible retailers. I would love ❤️ to hear your thoughts and suggestions in the comments section.

Great overview! I’m surprised you didn’t mention Minichamps, are they not available in North America? Their quality is very good from what I’ve seen so far.

Thanks for watching. First off, good question. The criteria that I look for is what is available today, at affordable prices and with a wide selection. And of course, what I own and have in my collection. Since I mad that video, I have bought Bang, HPI and Quartzo as I was looking for verry specific models, largely GT3 and Prototypes. Mini Champs currently has a very limited selection of largely Porsches, of which is a good thing. The bad thing, in my opinion, is that IXO makes good models and many more for the same price and Spark makes many more of everything for more expensive prices but, with smart shopping and dealing with EBAY Sellers ( see my shopping on Ebay video ) I can get much better models. Simply put, Mini Champs just hasn't moved me enough to buy any of their models at this time. It is a very competitive environment of which is a good thing for us a collectors. What country do you live in? And, do you shop on EBAY? And, finally, did that answer your question to your satisfaction.
One thing that I have learned since starting this channel, less than 90 days ago, is that collectors are vast, and from all over the world. Many have much larger collections and much more experience than I. And, I have learned form them and they have learned from me and have become friends. Next year, I will have a much more extensive list and many more models to present. Note: I collected 1/24 Nascar diecast for over 20 years and have hundreds and have barely scratched the surface on my channel due to my current lack of interest in Nascar. Tomorrow, I go to the Fanatec GT Challenge at VIR and will have a live video from the paddock. Next week I will be at Watkins Glen NY for the 6 hours of the Glen and will be doing the same. STAY TUNED.....Good stuff.

@@markzebr6463 thanks for your thorough answer Mark! Seems like TH-cam deleted my reply for some reason. Don’t know what buzzwords I could’ve used that triggered any filter. Is there any other way to talk to you?

@@markzebr6463 Which HPI did you get? In terms of Minichamps, they might be too old for you or potentially not full GT3 types but the Minichamps Evolution models are of high quality. I have a few of them and they tend to do some 2010/2011 Nurburgring models which are a little more unique (early Ford GT GT3, Lexus LFA, Aston V12 Zagato).
