It looks like you got very lucky...the ice cream was not lost!
A Cat 4 is devastating and it doesn't look like the buildings in your area have much, if any, protection. I've been in South Florida for 20 years and have been EXTREMELY lucky to avoid significant damage or loss. I hope that Tonga and Curiosity fared well. Godspeed. Love you guys!

New rule for life: any time a global pandemic and a cyclone hit at the same time, it's 100% ok to have ice cream for breakfast 👍🙂. Thanks for sharing your adventures, I hope you two stay safe and sane during this crazy time!

Hey guys, kudos to you both for setting the tone with taking responsibility for the crap that ends up on your beach!!
Me and my better half did the same at every place we go to, and wish more of us well-off westeners cared more about setting the example!!
Good to see you both fared well.

Bless ya hearts. I live not far from where you stay, and often I take my young family down to that beach and pick up rubbish. Education about pollution is required here.

Thank you for writing. We absolutely love our beach time and it breaks our hearts to see all the plastic rubbish left on the beach. I do hope people see that it's not good to pollute the oceans and streams. In the meantime we'll keep doing our daily beach cleanup, it's not much but it's something.

In an odd way, you guys are really blessed. Can you imagine if there had been no cerveza sickness and you'd made it to your boat a couple weeks ago? You would likely have been at sea during that typhoon. Instead of having your boat safely hauled in and you guys in a comfy apartment with hot coffee and ice creme. ;-)

DEALING WITH ISOLATION - While non of us have had this exact experience previously, there are a few 'native' Texans that know what its like to be pretty much alone. West Texas isn't the worst for isolation because the social separation is geographic and the people are better able to deal with a life with 'FEW' neighbors.
As a traveler... I've experienced the things I see in the video.. finding myself alone in a place far from family and other 'comforting' relationships. Once, not far from where you find yourselves, (in global terms) on a south pacific Atoll north of you but very much isolated as I worked for a some months.
Keep up the videos, the experiences and above all, lessons learned from the very well organized and tight ship you keep.
When the world emerges from this crisis, we will have new priorities. Having knowledge on how to cope will be valuable to all on social media and watchers of You Tube.
A great talent with the camera and the presentations. Nice work folks.

    • @hamiltonsny
      @hamiltonsny 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

As a native New Yorker, I am losing my damn mind! I wish I had a little Texan in me these days...
We will all get through this. Even as we practice social distancing, we have to remember we are in this together.
      Hang tough, Wynn's.

We have a new sport in Australia called roll flogging. Where you run through supermarket car parks and attempt to steal someone's toilet paper from their trolley when they are packing their groceries in their car. The parents with children section is best, because they turn their backs while securing their child in the car seats. I'm actually not serious, they usually pack the rolls in then baby second. We do pick up bottles when kayaking and put them under the cargo net. Not in the creeks though, because of the hepatitis risk.

Fried plantains is my favorite, if you love garlic as i do " i chop 2 cloves of garlic, little salt to taste , pinch of crushed peperoncini half a cup of olive oil and if you like half a teaspoon of vinegar and let sit , do not put in fridge, this will ferment for 2 hours at least and the oil will need stirring prior to use. This makes a fabulous dip or just pour a teaspoon over the plantains.

I spent three hours chipping a concave into a small boulder then used a baseball sized rock to grind the beans. It went into some poly-fiber camo netting which I boiled in a discarded soup can. Stay safe guys, here they are calling for high winds and possible long path tornado's. With this virus and the time of year for storms things really suck right now. Hang tough, this will pass hopefully. I just hate the loss of life and damage its causing. Take care.

I have loved watching your non-stop adventure(s) over the years. You are so inspiring. I don't drink the coffees, but so so loved the creative problem solving style grinding. I hope I can go RVing too someday, but I'm not sure I'll chase that with circumnavigating the globe like you.
You are two of my favorite people in the whole world. God bless.

Love the cleanup effort. Watching your videos always inspires us to level up our video skills, story telling, camera work and editing, so awesome. Love your work with the music track, I know how hard it is to choose the appropriate track and the mix dialog , background sounds, and music levels. I have been watching since your early rv days, love it. Larry

We stayed on the small islands mostly (treasure, castaway, plantation, mana island etc). The Fijian people are special. Wonderful people. I love them so much

The little windows are called “louvre” or “louver” windows. I grew up with them in southern Florida before air conditioning was common. You had to go to the movies or ice cream parlor for that in the early 60’s. They can be opened at a slant to allow air flow without rain. Except in Cat 4 storms.....
