- Former Sheffield United, Crystal Palace, QPR, Leeds, Cardiff, Middlesbrough, Huddersfield & most recently Aberdeen manager, Neil Warnock is our returning special guest on No Tippy Tappy Football.
Neil Warnock sits down alongside Sam Allardyce & Natalie Pike to discuss his legendary football career from his first manager job at Gainsborough Trinity to his final role at Aberdeen.
The former QPR manager talks about how he got the best out of Adel Taarabt, his fond memories of the club & what it takes to win promotion from the Championship.
Neil and Sam also chat about playing out from the back and how his former Huddersfield player Michal Helik took his advice of clearing the ball a bit too literally.
They then talk in depth about the importance of having great staff, mind games in football, almost signing Virgil van Dijk & giving his decorator minutes in pre-season.
Finally Neil announces that he's officially retired from football having started his career at Chesterfield as a player in 1967 before going on to manage 1,626 professional games, over 300 non-league games and having won promotion 8 times.
Happy retirement Neil.

Cud listen to warnock all day talking football and all things else. Love the fella.
I hope he comes back for one final job next season, the man is a legend ☺
There isn't a single football club that agrees with you
Must have been crazy to have seen Pelé live at the stadium in those times. Was actually priveliged enough myself and my dad to watch Barcelona and Messi play in 2019. Two all time greats and magical players!
Neil warnock is class act
Like ya mean
Are ya with me
Like ya mean
Are ya with me
🤣🤣 You could make it into a drinking game
😂😂😂 was looking for this
Me too 😂@@callumbradke7194
Yes. We're with you Neil.
Remember watching QPR down Swansea . Never heard of him before but Adel Taarabt was insane. He was going past 2 or 3 players at a time. Incredible baller 🔥
Absolutely top bloke, met him a couple of times and always a gentleman, are ya with me
I remember you from Gringotts!! Such a valuable part of my life ill never forget.
Neil, thank you for all you did at Huddersfield town during both of your stints, the word legend is thrown around all too often these days, but you are an absolute legend, and what you did for the club will never be forgotten. Thank you, and I hope that you enjoy your retirement (although I'm sure you will get a few calls near Christmas!)
You got rid of him for Darren Moore, now going down fool
@@matthewdoyle3877 we are going down because we appointed him, and got rid of him too late, not because we got rid of him. Look what's he's done at port vale, got them relegated and hardly won a game, same blue print as at town.
Enjoy relegation
@@Kingofthekop1 I'm sure we will. Enjoy what ever it is you do.
What an absolute legend. A most enjoyable watch at the court of King Neil.
As a Blade I'm glad I got to experience first hand for many years what a bloke, man management second to none ⚔️
Great interview, top bloke.
Really enjoyed this episode. Always a great one when Warnock is on the show. He has so much to offer and it was nice to hear him talk without tons of interruptions. Good episode. Looking forward to more guests coming on and hopefully being able to share their stories a little more. Keep them coming! It'd be good if you could get Mike Flynn, former Newport County manager on the podcast to talk about "the great escape".
Brilliant at Cardiff , love to have him back
These two have got a world of knowledge and It's great to hear all their experience.
Neil Warnock, top man
The back handers and bungs those two must have had over the years 💰💰💰
Bet they’ve done more backhanders than Djokovic
brilliant...again!!!
It was great Warnock did Aberdeen, like how Andy dibble went there as well, great sportsmen. And it was not that bad, it's just the momentum went poor, and it was the end of the season, so a strange time, and he did reach the cup semi final, which turned out to be a classic. And the guy he got from Canada has been brilliant. Hollett or something, so I think it is better than some say.
As a Bristol City fan I wish we would of had Neil as manager instead of LJ. He would of taken us to the Premier league. A proper old school manager.
Yeah u cheated against him when he was Palace manager
Did a great job at Rotherham as well.
Brlliant interview as always. Warnock used to sell insurance in our area!
Notts County to Chelsea would have been a game changer.
Hope he doesn't retire. Just a legend of the game
I've heard these stories before on sperate vids but could listen to then another 20 times, love it. It did make me laugh when he said I'd bullock the players but then I'd forget about it. I think about the phrase "go and have a bath son"
❤ Neil Warnock I could sit down and hear & listen with many of his stories
Adel is literally everyones favourite the streets won't forget baller
Abdul Taarabt. Top player
How has she butchered Taarabts name like that
He has had more comebacks than Status Quo 😂
i love that Warnock has a mohawk....are you with me...
Aberdeen did want to bring a manager in sooner however Elfsborg didnt want to lose their manager as early. Have respect for Warnock for what he’s said about Aberdeen but he was totally clueless in terms of managing up in Scotland
he's a decent manager but probably didn't know the Scottish league well enough, given time he probably would have got things right but he's getting on a bit and only wants short-term jobs, he was getting dog's abuse and heavy criticism from Aberdeen fans on social media which he probably doesn't need for a man who is in 'semi-retirement'
@@anthonydixon1282 was getting abuse as he seemed to take the job as a bit of a joke and “have a laugh”. He pissed off for 4 days during his brief stint with us. The interim (who has zero managerial experience) has done better than Warnock.
Was any yous suprised 😮
Fanny was more intrested in talking about sevco
I’d Take warnock back over wilder any day.
The Dream Team
I always think that I wish these 2 managers had an opportunity to coach one of the top4 clubs LIV,MAN U,CHELSEA OR ARSENAL that would be nice and interesting
Counted 23 times are ya with me
This guy has pure charisma. Kind of made Big Sam look a little boring! Loved it.
Neil “Are you with me?” Warnock
Like ya mean V are ya with me
54:25 What is the beef between Chris Wilder and Neil Warnock?
Wilder put pressure on boro to sack NW
@@niallwilliams8833 Really? Didn´t know that
are you with me? Big Sam's had a makeover lol!!
I want to beat Plymouth so fucking much lads
I wonder is Big Sam giving Natalie one.
Forrest should have had 2 pens
Why is she on it
Come n help afc diamonds and mentor Micheal harriman
Mick Jones, when he was alive.Probably best he was.
I went to school with Wilder, he was the year above me, I'm not a fan of his either, but I'm still bothered about what happens to the club... are you with me? ;-) Don't get me wrong Neil, I think you're a twat, but you're our twat! As always, great interview, loving the channel.
Natalie's good at her job and is a knowledgeable enough presenter but really it would have been better just letting these two riff off each other
"Abdul" Taarabt ???
Another who thought they’d go north thinking it would be an easy ride
No way he would have signed Van Dijk from Celtic for 3m I think Southampton paid closer to 13m 😂😂
He was sold from Celtic for 13m. They’d have told you to go and take a running fk to yourself. Whopper Neil
This goes to show how ignorant and wrong the EPL “experts” can be about players playing in the Scottish premier league in regards to Virgil van dijk
Are you with me?😂
Who the fuck is Abdul Taraabt
Your one hosting is brutal to listen to here. Jesus
He doesn't even know the truth anymore at this point
Abdul Taraabt lol
Adbul Taarabt....christ almighty do your homework love...
Don't think this women offers anything positive to these
Natalie turning the conversation away from wilder feud👎👎 too soft and P.C. this podcast
She was shook. Wilder is a wanker simple
That’s unfair tbh. The way he shut that down, even Paxmen would have struggled to probe further
shame the woman is there
