Thanks for sharing this Jack! It's exciting to think about the possibilities of local, offline capabilities, especially when it comes to exploring out in the world! Imagine having this for animal/plant identification, weather, ecosystems.
So stoked for local language models!
I had no idea local AI was coming... thanks for the sharing, this is super cool!
Thank you, really cool! 🙏🏻
Hey Jack,
How you added the React and Node versions to your terminal theme ?
thanks for this Jack ,cannot wait for the course, been waiting on this for a while
Really appreciate for sharing this quick integration of Gemini AI with React.
Feel like this could come in handy as a quick, native integration for a personal portfolio website.
Recruiters and hiring managers or anyone interested in your work could jump in to your portfolio website and converse with the AI to learn about you before having to initiate a conversation. Could be a good way to streamline hiring and mundane questions / un-useful conversations.
Exactly!
👏👏 Great video! I really like your zsh theme, which one do you use?
I'l be doing a short video on it soon. It's a custom oh-my-posh prompt using JetBrains Mono Nerd Font.
@@jherrwhat is the theme for vscode?
@@SyedZainUlHasan The VS Code theme is Night Wolf [black]. Oh-my-posh is a shell add-on that gives you the prompt. The oh-my-zsh theme is robbyrussell if I recall correctly.
what is the theme name
Excellent video Jack as always! Nonetheless, now you made me crave for cookies - and I don't have any in house!
I gave you a recipe! And Gemini thinks they are good for you!
@@jherr Bold of Gemini to assume that it knows whats best for me nutrition-wise. Also, cba baking - and the messy cleanup after the whole ordeal.
In conclusion AI is still worthless. When I crave for cookies it should fetch me some or even better, bake me some using your recipes!
"What's your stance on AI and copilot tools Philip?"
"Well, as us Greeks say, it can't make a coffee"
@@PhilipAlexanderHassialis "it can't make a coffee" I like that. A good litmus test.
@@jherr Heh, it's a very common response in Greece when someone shows us a new "thing" they got e.g. a new car, a new computer, a new OS, a new phone etc etc, we always ask "can it make a coffee?" (usually as a friendly jab to the person with the new shiny thingamajigg).
AI can't make a coffee. 😀
For this to makes sense need to be a standard and allow to set any model not just a Google one.
And "ai" is such a broad term, maybe it should have other name
Woohoo! New vid. Why does it have limited tokens if it is hosted locally?
Size of the model AFAIK. 22GB is apparently a "tiny" model.😂
@@jherr Hello,👋🏼 I was wondering if anyone can help with a concern and worry I’m dealing with? My worry is mobile phones and mobile apps won’t be around or available for my lifetime I’m 31 years old? I’m just concerned that’s all. Just need some reassurance that they’ll be available or around for my generation or lifetime at least. Appreciate the input and help!! 👍
Love the idea but i swear I don't have enough memory for a 22 gb download 😂😂
