It’s really impressive to see someone that really knows what they are doing. Wish I had someone like you closer to me. Such a fantastic and interesting breakdown. 🎉

You're the best Mike. Great teacher too! When R104 read 5 ohms I said "middle 2 rectifier diodes" (I forgot the numbers lol) to myself. If I knew years back what I do now... I swear at work, EVERY monitor had that darkened left side, could even see little waves scrolling at times. I coulda fixed SOOOO many monitors myself instead of pulling them all the time and sending em to a guy that fixed them properly MAYBE 75% of the time, and that's generous lol. Great stuff Mike, appreciate ya and the work/teaching you do! :)

Thank you for uploading these videos. I love watching all of them and it’s so satisfying when you figure out what causes an issue. I’m just a rookie but I feel like I pick up a lot of great tips from you Mike.

This is gold just from the techniques used. I never knew how to: readjust a monitor using raster lines, how to use denatured alcohol for cleaning, how to cleanse the pads and component legs, or that a fiberglass pen even existed! 😂 Not to mention the actual technical stuff. Actually showing me how to test components with the voltmeter is crucial as well as I’m a visual learner. Now let’s see if I can diagnose the problem with my monitor with some of what I’ve learned.
I have three questions. What monitor pot adjustment tools do you use? I have crappy plastic ones, and yours look sturdy. What temperature do you keep your soldering iron at? and What kind of solder do you normally use?
    Thanks in advance!

      Thanks! Glad I could help.
Since the pots are plastic, I just use a metal jeweler’s flat blade. Plastic tools are really only needed if you’re poking around with the monitor powered on or if the pots are metal pots like on the G07. I keep my iron at 800f. I use tin-lead solder. 63/37.

Perfect. Thank you. Be sure I’ll have more questions for you as I’ve got three monitors with problems right now. Maybe I’ll also chat with you on one of the FB groups too. I’m really appreciative of your knowledge!
