im out here learning little things about moving out and this video has helped me so much! going for my first viewing ever next weekend (a few others in the near future). Nervous and not sure what to expect but im gonna go for it. thank you for this video!!!!
ah~~ thanks chow for these tips! you're so eloquent, i enjoyed this video for its usefulness and also for your candor ^^ may we always have options, and hoping the best for your next apartment hunt! x
i wish i knew about the option to renew clause before signing my tenancy agreement... had to renew this year and landlord just raised it by like over 30% sighs :(
Interesting for the option to renew clause in tenancy agreement. I guess the next questions are: 1) Landlords might not agree to keep the rental rate at the same rate, especially given that it has gone up for so much. I guess it is also your landlord's mistake that he/she didn't foresee the price of rent would have continue to go up by so much the past 1 year. 2) Related to no. 1, I doubt such clauses are perpetual, like you mentioned, you can only renew the agreement once at this locked in rate, and not more than that. 3) The reverse is disadvantageous to the tenant if the rental market starts too cool? I guess the past 2 months I do see some cooling off already (though not obvious).
found your channel. interesting to watch a local renting exp. have you ever had problems with landlords in the past? what are your thoughts about you encountering problems with them as a local ? lots of expats seem to have problems with deposit deduction and landlord not fixing things
I passed by your video few months back, never subscribe to your channel, think nothin much of it back then. This is my 2nd time that i watched your video…feel that i can talk to you ..
For 3/4 room HDB flats, landlord/owner can only rent out 1/2 rooms and owner need to physically continue staying in the same flat too. Thus, it must be a flat rental without landlord around.
@@jsmu1234where you get info Sia? You can rent out the HDB flat after MOP provided you have a place to stay. Yes even 2 room flat.(note only for Singaporean)
Ahah Just teasing you. But that's the reason why I don't choose to settle in Singapore. I prefer Malaysia or Thailand. It's not just a about the price, people are more lay back. I used to be in Singapore but I like more the lifestyle in other places. I am French but For Singaporean I understand they don't have the same option
Thank you for sharing, I have spent 9 years in Singapore and am now preparing to apply to become a citizen
all the best!!!

What is the name of this condo? $2500 not necessarily low
You looks so comfortable with that cleaver in your hand 😊 How long have you been cooking?

CJH, will you drop your skin care routine? & $2500/month?! Man you must be earning a lot thou.
Will do!!! $2500 is for the whole apartment and I've housemates. Wouldn't be worth to get just a room for $2,500 imo
Nice sharing
cannot relate, my salary is below $2,500~
Eh you’re using Pixel ah?
pixel 8 pro
2500 for one room or whole unit?
She say got 2 housemates and is 3 room so is renting room lah. Cluster is like condo pricing.
One room $2500 and she say is 'good' deal!😆😆😆😆😆
For the entire apartment!

First comment
So staying with parents is an embarrassment?
Sharing with 2 housemates so is renting one room at $2500!
Good deal?
But of course, she would never rent HDB!😆😆😆😆
LOL $2,500 for the entire apartment. And HDBs aren't more affordable now, unfortunately. I admire your presumptuousness!
@@chowanmushi Enjoy it while it lasts. If your contract up for renewal better try to butter up landlord. May be they go easy on you.
@@chowanmushitoday's condominium rental market 750sqft for $2500 is impossible. HDB 3 room flat (800sqft) rental around $3000 already.
You think 2500 is cheap ? It's bloody expensive. No need your advice
Find me a 3 bedroom, 10 min walk to mrt and 10 mins from the cbd for anything less
