I'm back! Thanks for letting me take a little break, I really needed it! This piece was such a challenge and due to my love for Gandalf (lol) I had to make sure I did him justice. I think he turned out pretty good. I'm really happy with the face and how everything works together to create this iconic character. Do you want me to make more sculpts of characters based on their book descriptions? Let me know! Also, I apologize for the lack of an outro, I forgot to record one if I'm being honest lol and ran out of time. I hope you like this project!! Thank you for being here ❤
I'd really like to see you sculpt a book accurate Dracula, he looks so different from a lot of his movie interpretations. Also, can you do more sculptures of animals after your break?
If you need a break, you need a break! I hope you’re feeling a lot better for it. I love the finished Gandalf, but I feel that you are probably going to be returning to the character- maybe as Gandalf the White!
He turned out amazing! It would be so cool if you created more LOTR characters. I would love to see your version of Gollum, an elf and a hobbit. And maybe a Tree Ent too!
This was insanely satisfying to watch. The way his face comes together is amazing. I would really like some more realistic human forms, maybe some more book characters. Welcome back! As always, I love your content, thanks for doing it.
I definitely wanna see you interpret Gollum, an Ent, or a Balrog from the book descriptions how *you* interpret them! Phenomenal and I love seeing people's interpretations from books. There's a video online showing Gollum from every adaptation, for example.
I just love how this turned out. Gandalf gave off some Merlin vibes as well. Another great masterpiece. Can you do more LOTR and some more mythical characters according to book descriptions please...
Well done Ace!! I loved to see you tackle a more true to life character! I think you have an excellent idea to sculpt more characters according to descriptions in the books. A challenge for sure. I liked how you read the descriptions as well. That really showed your interpretation of the words! Love it, love it!! Keep going! Missed you and welcome back. 🥰👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I LUFF HIM! His eyes are perfect you can see emotion in them! The staff is so gorgeous! You really nailed him and so glad you did the book version! Thanks for the shout out, I appreciate it! Airbrushes can be the best (and worst). 😂
You are always welcome to take a break when needed ... I'm glad you are not pushing yourself too much anymore ... Love your sculpts always ... So we need you to love what you do ... And love Gandalf , he looks awesome ❤❤❤
To save your glue, the caps from plug in air fresheners screw on perfectly. I think the fabri- tac uses the air wick type. I save both glade and air wick tops when I replace my fresheners.
This sculpt came out PHENOMENAL!!!!!! The amount of details is astounding...... The stalf is out of this world... There is so much detail in it alone... You should definitely do more sculptures like this one..... Your are in your element with any sculpture you do.... Glad to see you back..... Missed seeing your videos.. Hope all is well with you and yours... Can't wait for next one....
Love Gandalf, He's one of my favorite literary characters. He's certainly my favorite J.R.R. Tolkien character. I loved watching him being created, what a wonderful video. Thank You! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This sculpture of the old man in The Lord of the Rings is truly mesmerizing! 🎨👴 From the intricate details to the expression on his face, everything about this sculpture is truly amazing.
I always wanted to see you do more realistic characters and I was not disappointed! He is amazing. I am totally voting for more book characters in the future!!
That's actually posdibly the best rendition of Gandalf I've seem in a very long time. It captures the essence of unassuming power and massive wisdom he embodies perfectly.
Missed watching your content, happy you're back. As always amazing work, I think you captured him perfectly. I would enjoy watching you do some more realistic looking faces as well as some larger sculpts like this.
Gandalf is amazing, your details to his face and hair are awesome and his walking stick is very nice. Yes, make more from books and descriptions. I like the way you sculpt and create.
I love watching this realistic creation. The role of anatomy and how muscles work under the skin, and then how the skin falls around it, is intereating to watch you put together. You are so talented and creative. It is exciting to learn about your different styles and skills. ❤
If you also add blues and blueish mint greens as well as lavender purple washes to flesh sculpts it cuts down on all the peachiness while making the skin more realistic. Blues for thin areas like at the creases near the nostrils, around the inner parts of the eyes, at the temples of the forehead, and for some veining, greens to tone down the peachiness, purples for mottling, on the bags of eyes, around the tips of the nose, and inside the nostrils. Blues also are great for the souls and palms of feet and hands. I learned all this from watching reborn paining tutorials. Those women are the queens at making super realistic flesh tones.
Wow, amazing job and so different than all your other work. This and your burger are so on point and I think it's great how you have been stepping out of your comfort zone. 😊
I'd love to see your take on Bilbo Baggins. It always stuck with me how he could be described with "long clever brown fingers and wooly toes" and I've never seen anyone acknowledge that
Oh he is FANTASTIC!! You did a phenomenal job on him!! Just a tip...you can water down the gel medium and it will be less apt to leave a residue. I have even watered it down enough that I could soak my fabric in it before draping and it helps. It takes a bit longer to dry and you have to work at shaping it a bit more because of the slower dry time but it's worth it for dark fabrics I think. Regardless, I think he still turned out amazing!!
Well this was worth the wait and then some! He's incredible, and if you want to do more book accurate characters, I'm willing to wait on each and every one!
You nailed it on so many levels. Particularly the hat. It would not have a huge brim. It would be modeled on what a wizards hat in medieval images. Sometimes virtually no brim. And on this rant I will include hobbits do not have big feet. Only one hobbit named Proudfoot ( family name) had large feet. Ents are not trees either. They are treelike but no mention of leaves etc. The only person that got illustrating LORT was Baynes. Tolkien requested she illustrated the trilogy but publishers did not want the expense. She worked under Tolkien’s direction, directly and they were friends. Only she nailed it.
I truly enjoy this video, It was amazing to watch it come together. I would love to see you make more characters like this. Love his face, so realistic. I haven't scuplted anything for a while due to an accident at work. Oven kind if exploded and needed 2 surgery's on my left arm. Snapped my femur. So now your my therapy watching your videos have mean me feel so much better and I also have physical therapy twice a week. Lol. Hopefully I'll come back soon to Ace of clay with a sculpture. May god bless you always, Cause he's bless us with you.
Loved so much about him. Airbrushing Sucks, but you cannot deny the results. I felt like his hat lost a wanderers functionality with how little brim it has. The craggy skin is spot on! Thank you for this sculpt ❤
Aloha from Maui! I’ve been subscribed to your channel for years, and I always enjoy watching your process. This is the first time I’ve commented. I am so very impressed by your Gandalf! You did a fantastic job! Please keep doing these more lifelike sculpts… they are a pleasure to behold. Look me up if you’re ever on Maui!

we’re even here when you need a big break all your sculptures are so awesome. Keep being cool!
Yes❤❤
If you need a break, you need a break! I hope you’re feeling a lot better for it.
I love the finished Gandalf, but I feel that you are probably going to be returning to the character- maybe as Gandalf the White!
The fact that it looks a little like Sir Ian just goes to show how close he and Peter Jackson stuck the book description with the casting and make up
And yes I'd love to see more videos of characters created from book descriptions. Thank you.
Please make more from Lord of the Rings ❤ he is amazing Ace. You did am incredible job!!!
I am blown away at the detail.
Please do more!! 😊
"I am Gandalf. And Gandalf means me."
He turned out amazing! It would be so cool if you created more LOTR characters. I would love to see your version of Gollum, an elf and a hobbit. And maybe a Tree Ent too!
I vote for Gollum.....two of them as he has two different personalities.
A wizard is never late, nor is he early! He arrives precisely when he means to!
Awesome job!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️
This was insanely satisfying to watch. The way his face comes together is amazing. I would really like some more realistic human forms, maybe some more book characters.

My day is instantly better when Ace uploads

Your Gandalf's face is so realistic!! I love your larger sculptures and mixed media!! I am perfectly happy seeing anything that you create. Thanks!
I absolutely love the realism! You totally nailed the mystic old man aura. Great job on the clothes as well!
I think this might be your best piece yet. He has so much character in his face!
To save your glue, the caps from plug in air fresheners screw on perfectly. I think the fabri- tac uses the air wick type. I save both glade and air wick tops when I replace my fresheners.

Amazing work! I love these mixed media projects as I myself dabble in several medias.
Love Gandalf, He's one of my
favorite literary characters.
He's certainly my favorite
J.R.R. Tolkien character.
I loved watching him being
created, what a wonderful video.
Thank You!
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Awesome sculpt. This is kinda how I’ve always seen Gandalf, those eyebrows were perfect!! He has a beautifully kind face.
This sculpture of the old man in The Lord of the Rings is truly mesmerizing! 🎨👴 From the intricate details to the expression on his face, everything about this sculpture is truly amazing.
You did a great job. He looks powerful, concerned and kind!
I always wanted to see you do more realistic characters and I was not disappointed! He is amazing. I am totally voting for more book characters in the future!!
Great job!! You totally captured the Gandalf vibe 👏👏
Worth the wait...Thanks for sharing your talent
Your larger mixed media sculpts are some of my favorite videos you post.
He's wonderful! I really enjoyed this video.
Omg, you did such an excellent job on Gandalf! I really enjoyed the longer video, as well as the more realistic sculpt! Yes, more please!
Stunning! 💜💜💜
You don't know how happy this made my mother and I both to watch this. We're both big fans of Tolkein's works! Thank you VERY much!😊
This is by far my most favorite of your sculptures! Excellent job
Nicely done. If you need another break fill free to. See you next time Ace.
Gandalf is amazing, your details to his face and hair are awesome and his walking stick is very nice.
Yes, make more from books and descriptions. I like the way you sculpt and create.
Your creation of Gandalf the Grey is my FAVOURITE of all you’ve made! And I love your art! It is just incredible - thank you for sharing.❤
I would love to see Gandalf the White standing next to him. Awesome work on one of my favorite characters ever.
Most amazing use of clay, cloth and metel!! I love the finished sculpture!!
This is so awesome! Especially cool to watch you "sculpt" the hair of the mustache and eyebrows!
The mighty brows !
Love, love, love it and yes do more from the books! Please!
What a fantastic sculpt , your Gandalf looks amazing !
All his Tim Burton-esque Things really undermine how good he really is at sculpting human figures.
This is one of your best creations yet! I love him! Awesome job!
I LOVE it! You really did justice to one of the most iconic characters ever.
I love watching this realistic creation. The role of anatomy and how muscles work under the skin, and then how the skin falls around it, is intereating to watch you put together. You are so talented and creative. It is exciting to learn about your different styles and skills. ❤
" at this point i realised he looks a lot like Ian McKellen "
Shows that he was the perfect Gandalf.

Wow! This turned out great! Always love seeing your process and the end project results ❤
I love the results ❤
I'm really excited for this sculpt. You'll do a great job, as usual.

I absolutely love this! I’ve been a big fan of LOTR a very long time and Gandalf is my favorite Tolkien character. This is simply fantastic!
