  • There are two exclusive restaurant's on board Cunard's Anne which only suite guests can dine in - one is the Queens Grill (the very top restaurant) and the other is the Princess Grill (the next best). Guests of Queen's Grill suites dine in the Queen's Grill and guests of Princess Grill suites (one rung down) dine in the Princess Grill. Both have a private club kind of feel and a shared lounge and I was lucky enough to be able to try BOTH of them out during two recent stays on the ship. This film shows exactly what dinner is like in both of these restaurants (as well as what each restaurant looks like) and pits one versus the other. In the end I have to decide which one is better? Watch the film to see which one I thought had the edge (or not!) and to enjoy watching some food - and some live cooking - without consuming the calories. In the Queens Grill I make my way through SEVEN courses: a Prosciutto amuse-bouche; ducks liver with madeira parfait; lobster bisque with aged cognac; a celeriac and apple salad; lemon sole for mains; cheesecake and then a cheese board. In the Princess Grill I order cured chalk stream trout for starters, followed by a Greek Salad, then roast duck a l'orange (which was a la carte and I'd had to pre-order and which was cooked at the table and was sensational and laced with Cointreau. And lastly for dessert I had Crepes Suzette (which was full of Grand Marnier) - again this had to be pre-ordered and was also cooked at the table. Thank you Cunard for so much delicious, gourmet cuisine. I'd like to come back for more!

And now we know where all the best grub has gone from the Britannia restaurant… Even the cheese is pre-cut and served on the plate now 🥲

Yes! rack of lamb in PG... that could be next Monday's dinner sorted... PG seems to be missing Beef Wellington and Lobster Thermidor (from memory of QM2 QG)?

yes, the menu seems to be different on Queen Anne than on QM2, which is no bad thing!! I LOVED my duck!! I'm sure the rack of lamb is yummy too though...that's what I had on QM2...

SEVEN courses! Hopefully you had a mouthful of each. We'd normally have a main and a dessert. More concerning, your Crêpes Suzette was being made with cointreau in the video. Didn't they have Grand Marnier? On QM2 in June 2022 they didn't have enough to serve in any bars/lounges, and ran out for the Crêpes Suzette after a few nights. We'll need to take our own next time if they're still struggling to get stock.

lol maybe it was a supply issue, but the Cointreau tasted excellent anyway! I really wanted to enjoy my meal in the Queens Grill - every mouthful - so I DID plough my way through most of the 7 courses. I didn't eat absolutely everything though, you're right. And the cheese course was shared with my daughter...I could NOT do that every night. But I also eat very little during the day so that I can indulge at dinner...

    Hello, Jo!
Looking at your video, I got a feeling from your words and facial expressions that you enjoyed the first meal more than the second one😊
Maybe it was because of the more visual presentations of the courses? I don’t know, anyway, thank you for the video😊👍
Best wishes from a rainy and chilly Oslo.

Ah Bjorn, I fear you can't compete from Oslo with our shockingly awful 'summer' in the UK. I bet you've had more sun than us, even in Oslo! Re which meal I enjoyed the most - I think I liked them both differently but equally! I think having the meals cooked at the table does make a real difference though and makes the dinner feel extra special. Perhaps THAT'S the vibe you were getting. Take care and speak soon from a chilly London !!! X
