Future Composer, the editor that was used to make these tunes, had a very distinct sound. Not only did it simulate synthesis, but it also supported samples. It started out on the ST, coded by Jochen Hippel, and was then converted to an editor on the Amiga by the group SUPERIONS, that based it on Jochen's replay routine found in games at the time.
Thanks mate it was such a long time ago when I made that tune!! Glad you like it. It was probably one of the biggest FC tunes as it (unusually for FC) had a lot of samples in as well as the synth sounds. I got some criticism for my Maniacs of Noise version of Crazy Pillars on here with some asking why it was only half-complete. That's because I did the tune completely from memory rather than copying the actual C64 track as I no longer had my C64 by then :)
Nice to get a reply from the composer, I wondered many times back in 1996 when I first heard it who the f"k came up with this amazing tune :-) There are many great tunes in this pack, most by Dextrous are great, my favorites are: 1. Revolutionary, 2. Fraxion and 3. Synthtronic. Of course Hippels tunes are also stunning.
