Bolt ons + OTS tune gets you big gains.
What’s on my car?
ARM intakes
ARM Charge pipes
VRSF downpipes
BM3 stage 2 93 octane
N63intakes sport oil cooler valve

Couple of corrections. N63TU def has cast pistons. It has forged crank and rods just like the S63TU. Even the S63TU has cast pistons. They just have a slightly different dome profile then the N63TU. The only internal mods Alpina does for example to the N63TU is replace the factory cast pisons with forged. Since the rest of the N63TU is forged. Granted the factory forged rods still are not that large. Also you say your F13 Coupe is 4600, they weight 4233. An F06 Gran Coupe weight 4500. And 4680 with xdrive. Yes off the shelf tunes do ok. But there is even more power in professional tunes. Heatsync Performance Euro for example has a n63tu stock turbo dragy ET world record setting heavy F06 Gran Coupe xdrive running 10.79@126.42 with just downpipes and a tune. With factory 2.5 tmaps. That translates to over 700 HP.
Great info, thanks for sharing! I guess I got a bit mixed up when pulling up info for the car, so I’ll hold my hand up and stand corrected.
Heatsync tune was with E30, this guy runs 93oct. For 93oct 561whp is great numbers.
Ja aber das muss man ja auch 😮 Pop PP😅😅
Great vid. I also live in Florida where the summers can get disgustingly hot. This can cause the ekps module to get too hot and shutdown on you (usually seen as “fuel supply” warning with the car stopping every 15 mins or so)..
one other thing I’ve done is take the ekps module & drill a 1.5inch (diameter) hole into it. Once drilled, I then attach a small cpu fan where the hole is and have it powered by either a small battery or connect to the fuse box.
The ekps module is known for failing when it gets too hot so the fan will circulate air and keep the components cool.
(Ekps is located in the trunk underneath everything.. usually to the right of the battery).
All done $50… or wait until it fails & the dealership will replace it for 1500$ (because they think it’s a fuel pump failure)..& the new module might still fail when it gets crazy hot.
You're a nerd like me. That Weyland Yutani tattoo is fire
Hell yeah thank you bro
I have a 2016 750i and so far it’s straight piped and has a JB4 map 2 tune. It moves pretty good but it is very heavy.
Luxury executive sedan? Yeah, heavy, but faster than 90% of things out there. And no one expects a 650bhp 750 haha
I have the 2012 650i MSport RWD I did the 2018 750 I intercooler upgrade on my car big wheel horsepower gains I did stage2 9 blade fin turbo I upgraded the oil cooler lines I put the oil cooler delete so it runs full-time 180° thermostat. What a difference those two made then the 1.4 bar radiator cap Dine and coil packs NGK race X plugs two steps colder cat down pipes straight piped all the way back with an X pipe for back pressure from facing cold air intake. Charge pipes before programmer. The car is insane. I unfortunately blew the first engine I bought it with a bearing issue. The rod bearing did fail. Warranty bought me a brand new engine with nine updates, technically they don’t make the old motor anymore so I got lucky
What tuner did you go with?
& did you need to do any modifications to fit the 2018 750i intercoolers on it?
I have a 2016 650i that gets 28mpg on 90% highway driving in comfort+ and doesn’t use any oil!

Great video
Again thank you !
Hi, excellent video man. What does your car do 0-60?
For the downpipes did you buy slip fit connection or 2 bolt flange ?
Depends on your year, the pre LCI usually has 2 bolt flanges.
More boost = more heat = more engine wear = less reliability
Generally yes. Hence why it’s so important to do supporting mods for these cars.
What are the supporting mods that are done? Great setup on a more rare platform many don’t notice!
@@Andy__5.0 ARM intakes and charge pipes, VRSF downpipes, N63intakes oil cooler valve - and stage 2 BM3
@@MedDev404 with this mod is it still reliability?
@@NasserAlmutiri yes - perform basic maintenance and you will be fine.
I asked you for help on Facebook and Instagram and you blocked me, I also have a 650 and I wanted to make changes and I only had your car as a reference…
Next time i do a mountain to tail of the dragon you should come with us!
I’ll be at tail of the dragon end of January. Gotta get all season tires!
@@MedDev404 yea we are gonna head up there around January-February.
I have a 550i myself
Got myself one and I wanna weight reduct it
That sound when you start is downpipe with exhaust lol. Not just down pipes
I can smell the burnt oil
It’s horrendous lol
Hi fellow 6-er where in fl
Treasure Coast
And is the off the shelf tune good for you? In sense of enough power and reliability?
where did you get your diffuser? and did you have to do any mods to fit it or it just fit right in? oh the the side skirts too where did you get them?
Does that hood help with the engine heat ?
How much did it cost ?
Where did you get those Arm extensions for the intake? I see a setup for sale for my F13 650ix coupe burt the airfilters are located where the OEM air box is. I like the idea of extending that downward for less heat soak.
It’s a front mount kit sold directly from ARM. I don’t recommend their intake. It’s a shit design.
@@MedDev404 Any that you would recommend? I see CGP has a set up for the 650ix F13. Havent seen many if any reviews on them. Thanks for the reply.
The hood is a no.
Your opinion is a no.
Is there a hood out there that can help get the heat out of the engine compartment
I got 620hp on wheels 2012 x5m with downpipes and tune 28 psi boost
X5M was S63 I believe
@@MedDev404 yes s63 but all 63s have problems rods , I'm all ready swapped new engine and I still have my old engine will fix it to
What carbon fiber hood is that and how come your not using aftermarket hood latches ? Are you not scared your hood will fly open while driving too fast
The OEM latches are compatible with the hood.
What brand hood is that
Hi ! Thanks for the nice video!
I have a 2021 Bmw X6M50i (N63Tu3 engine) with stage 1 remap, downpipes from Active Autowerke and full titanium exhaust: the car produces 612 Whp and 850 Wnm running on 100 RON fuel.
I would like to put stage 2 upgrade turbos , but I wanna first ask you what is your experience about the engine reliabilty with new turbochargers..?
Pure Turbos says my engine can support up to 700 Whp safely.
Please give me your comments!
Best regards
Tom from Italy :-)
I’m no expert. However, consensus is the N63tu (yours being newest is probably better yet) can continue to maintain a reasonable amount of reliability up to about 650whp.
If anything, new turbos are new parts, and the N63tu + has lots of forged components.
I would also add the oil cooler valve from N63intakes as well as the low temp thermostat. Depending on where in Italy and when you drive the car, in summer it can be very hot
@@MedDev404 thank you very much for your kind answer.
Honestly , I’m a little bit afraid to push the engine close to its limits: probably I will stay like this to keep the engine safe during the next years.
After the tuning, I changed the oil and all filters in a shorter time( after 6-7K miles) and the engine maintains a very good shape and performance.
Considering its weight (2250 kilos) I’ m pretty happy with the performance:
1/4 mile In 11.4 seconds and 0-60 in 3.6 seconds.
Finally , I kindly ask you to recommend me a cold air intake and an oil thermostat , as you advise me, because in the summer season where I live , we have hot temperatures ( between 35 and 40 degrees).
Thank you very much
Best regards from Italy 🇮🇹
yo MedDev so all you did was get down pipes and an of the shelf tune and you're @561 to the ground???
Im literally at the dealership like right now tryin to get my hands on a 2016 f13 650i and im already thinking about getting more hp and torque.... lol,
Downpipes + tune on 93 octane and tht was my individual result.
thts whts up, im going to go in on mines, ill let you know if I get mines, im so excited, this is my first Bmw "coupe" and my first 6 series, @@MedDev404
What this car needs is a hood scoop and vent to cool the Hot V
The vents on the hood are functional - but I live in Florida so…
If only this engine was as good as the b58 or s58
what major issues have you had with the N63TU? is it a diy-able engine?
Only major issue I had was a coil pack explosion which was caused by a short . I ended up with a new battery, battery sensor, battery sensor cable, a new DME that had to be programmed, and a lot of my time.
IMO it is not diy friendly, extremely complex and over engineered
Beautiful car man was wondering where you find the side mirror caps hard to find really
😎👍
Do you have a link for your hat?
@@rawcmoss 😂 no I got it at the gift shop at BMW Zentrum in Spartanburg SC
What happens if I just don't get a tune and I just get catless downpipes?
You’ll get a check engine light. It’ll be louder but no real increase in power
What down pipes did you use
VRSF
Can I do stage 1 tune from bootmod for my N63TU X5? I rip it a lot, will I still have that ability? Or will I have to cut back?
Not sure what you mean…? Stage 1 is no hardware mods required. Prolly gets you to 450+whp
More you rag on it riskier it becomes 🤷🏻♂️
@@MedDev404 it’s currently 500hp, valvetronic straight pipe (res+muffler). Stage one on bootmod will give me about 650 crank. Thanks for responding so quick
where you get your side mirrors/covers, and the hood?
Mirrors are amazon 😅 pre-LCI mirrors are non-existent for the 6. Hood is Magna tuning
What is a better engine on a 2019 6 series. A n63tu or the s63?
S63 in the M6 makes more power and is - from what I read - much more reliable and solid even with aggressive tuning
You can easily hit 620 wheels with downpipes intakes and a custom tune on stock turbos
Reliably though?!
@@MedDev404 yes as long as you don’t go over 25 psi on stock turbos I think they say the limit is or it’s 24 something like that
@@MedDev404 yes keep the Boost around 20psi and you'll probably never have any problems with the turbo or worried about blowing your engine
I have a question. If you’re intake is in front of the car what happens when it rains?
….there are intake filters??
Water in small amounts isn't harmful and actually knocks carbon off of the valves. Similar to methanol/water injection to cool combustion Temps.
I’m pushing 740whp and 750wtq in my m6 gran coupe
Cool
M6 has larger turbos, intercoolers but the transmission is 💩,dct is also from ZF group but ZF auto transmission is better and more reliable than DCT and also more comfortable for daily driving
@@shoha1100 so may I ask what are you driving?
@@andresimmons914 sure bro, i drive 2012 Audi R8 V10 manual and 2016 BMW 550i xdrive daily
@@andresimmons914 i had a lot of bmws but i didn't like SMG and DCT transmissions. They are better of course in sports mode only.
Does it smell bad because he’s using catless down pipes?
Yes. Between the N63tu’s oil consumption and the catless pipes the exhaust is brutal. My friends often report headaches when driving behind me for awhile, but it’s absolutely fine cruising on the highway or driving in regular traffic - only when I’m romping on it does it really stink.
@@MedDev404 so if you had gotten a cat back exhaust, that would get rid of the problem right?
Asking for a friend lol
@@_L_X_R_X_N sure, but you’d be lacking the performance potential and sound provided by the pipes.
What year is your car ?
2015
Do they throw a check engine light?
Yes it does, anybody tells you something different is lying.
You can eliminate check engine by tune👍🏻
Hey dude were you in Gainesville last week ?seen a car just like this one
What bolt ons?
Watch the video
Is your car still running?
Yes and I daily drive it
@@MedDev404 Holy shit, I thought these engines are trash and always have problems? How are you running this thing lol. I went to test drive like 3 of them and they all had crazy issues
@@publicname515 most of the bad reputation comes from the pre TU iteration of the N63 say 2011-2013 roughly.
Proper maintenance and even with a stage 2 tune I have zero issues
Would not recommend N63 to anyone that is living paycheck to paycheck. BMW outside of warranty is just an endless money pit. I learned the hard way. BMW X6 was nothing but a endless money pit.
Why do people who don't own an M series always wear M apparel?
Maybe because they love BMW M cars…? Get a life, dork
@@MedDev404 How about you get an actual M car and stop up badging your wardrobe LOL.
only mentally weak ppl care about what others wear especially when it has no meaning in the grand scheme of things🤣🤣thats pathetic
buy a microphone
Buy it for me 🤷🏻♂️
N63/N63tu are trash!!!

U just talking about horsepower.. but you never got to the point of reliability in a long-term run.. even worse, reliability after tuning this engine. You missing a lot of information on it.

How did you remove the stock exhaust tips and added quads? Also did you add a mid pipe and is there any droning?
I had a muffler shop cut and weld the tips
