Thanks Ron. Really like the idea of producing milk from grass. I’d love a separate holding with a grazed dairy herd. Would love to visit some American farms. 👍
We use our Agri weld bucket to fill our roller mill and caravagi mill mixer as well mixing feed. Maybe you could do same cut using augers even less to maintain.
Great bit of kit. I bought a mx auger bucket last year £4k doesn't mix but saves huge amount of time. Possibly mau use stick feed spuds or beet in the future. I use a mill mix lorry every 3 weeks and due to lack.of space add 400g of soya/rape mix onto for the young heifers.
It’s made a huge difference to us already. I am very lucky that my dad and grandad put a significant amount of sheds up so we can house a mill etc. We use beans for our proteins which we mill ourselves.
@@baldysfarm we moved 5 years ago and I'm on greenfield site. Planning for a 3rd big shed for straw then calving pens, machinery and corn but can't afford it at the moment. I really like the stand up feature on yours
It’s one thing to see bucket at ag field days it’s another to see it been used, thanks👍I rather have mixing bucket n bale shredded then feeder wagon, I seen enough problems with feeder wagon, even feeder wagon tub permanent station is better.
Thanks Jamie, that was the reason why I did the video in the first place. It makes loads more sense for us to operate this way. I know some love their feeder wagons etc but with one eye on coats and the other on ease, this works perfectly. 👍
Hi I was interested to know how many acres do you farm. How much is for arable and how many acres for the cows. Great vides by the way all the best for you and your farm.
Love your video's, if you could give me some advice on how you mix your feed and the ratio's id really appreciate it. My farm is in desperate need of upgrading our feeding system. So I might invest in an emily bucket in due time. My questions are, how do you get the right ratio of oats and barley in the bucket to mix it? For example if you were doing 2/1 barley oats. Do you scoop up the barley and load the oats by shovel or something? Or is the hopper on your bruiser big enough to hold 2 scoops of barley and 1 scoop of oats? Do you have to adjust the settings on your bruiser going from barley and oats. Sorry for the long questions, I just want to invest in the right system and get it right first time. Thanks
Hey, so it’s a bit of a mixture really. I have a large hopper on the mill which I tip the correct ratio of oats, barley and wheat into. Then mill it all together. I milk beans separately and then add the correct ratio of beans, oat/barley/wheat mix and a bought in feed called berry stock beef 14. I then mix them together in the bucket. Back when I made this video I had to correctly measure each individual product into the bucket but we have made improvements in the whole system since then. 👍 Hope that helps.
Hi Matthew, I can’t remember the the final price but with part exchange it came to about £5500 to pay I believe. I’d imagine it was about £12000 list price. 🤷♂️ considering the prices of a new mixer wagon and/or feeder bucket it’s a worthwhile investment. 👍
Your definitely exited with the Emily and looks like it does a great job. Excellent coverage of what it’s meant to do 👍
Thanks Michael, glad you enjoyed the video. It’s a great bit of kit.
Nice efficient grain feeding . I like it. From north central USA. grazing dairy farmer myself.

Looks a smart bit of kit I can definitely understand why you bought it, it's cut a lot of cost and every farmer loves that😁
Honestly couldn’t be happier with it. I think we will end up using it for a lot more things than we intended.
A great video

Good idea. Something worth looking into.

Great piece of kit for mixing 👍🚜
Works at treat! 👍

Hi, we farm about 450acres in total and we are split pretty much 50/50 grass and arable. I’m glad your enjoying the videos 👍

@@baldysfarm thanks for the advice 👍 I will keep thinking so i end up with an efficient system. First step is put up a shed 😂
I never knew I could get so excited about buckets!!!! What a great bit of kit!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Keith, it’s a serious bit of kit but I can honestly say it’s made the world of difference to us.
@@baldysfarm And watching your video really does show the benefits!!!!
What sort of investment is the bucket. We run a suckler cow herd in Scotland and feed store cattle with bags and a shovel is it worth it

Fine machine would it mix silage and meal
This particular model doesn’t but they do have one that will if you wanted it to.
