thank you so much for sharing! Im a third year med student. Im really indecisive on which specialty to apply for, so its good to hear that if I change my mind there are other possibilities. I would love to know more about how the swap works, like how to apply, start dates, when to start emailing programs, etc. Again thank you for talking about something that isn't usually brought up.

Thank you for this very informative video! And congratulations onto successfully getting into a residency speciality you wanted. At the end of the day, what matters is your passion and contentment.
I’m stuck between choosing anesthesiology and psychiatry but hopefully, I’ll come around to one.
    Subscribed. Stay blessed! ✨

Great video! Any tips on transferring to more competitive specialties? Like taking step 3 early or anything like that to help you stand out?

Can’t thank you enough for this. I’ve be searching far and wide for information on swapping and it’s always outdated information, opinions on the matter, or just dead zone. If we’re PGY-1 should we wait till we get to PGY-2?

Hey there, just saw this wasnt answered so responding if its still relevant. I transferred psychiatry residencies after PGY1 into a PGY2 spot. I'd say its easier to apply for a PGY2 spot as a PGY1- its a cleaner process for PDs. but it is still possible to transfer earlier! just takes more aggressive reaching out/networking and flexibility with location

I have seen people doing 2nd residency in rad after IM, so, I think the no. of funded years are same for everyone i.e 7 years (?)

If the program you are trying to transfer to needs LORs from your program should you get those first before attempting to apply?

No, they usually ask for LORs later in the process. I would find the open position first.
