Dreamcatcher and Ateez are my ult GG and BG, and interesting enough both groups share a few of the same producers (Leez, Ollounder and Maddox in their recent album). Dreamcatchers signature sound has been a mix between rock, metal, EDM and Pop elements, but their B-sides cover so many other genres (versatile queens). Their sound has put them on the more unique side of kpop in which they were more recognised worldwide instead of in Korea, but 5 years after debut, they finally got their first win this year with their title track Maison (which was very emotional for us Insomnias). The next title tracks of theirs I would suggest to check out is Vision (latest comeback), BEcause, Odd Eye, Scream and What.
It wasn't THAT emotional... I didn't cry for hours, and definitely do not cry to this very day whenever I see an edit of that win. I mean, it was okay, beatboxing JiU didn't burn into my mind. No. That's not what happened.

Loved seeing one of my 2 favorite groups thru your eyes. Dami is utterly unique, and she can also sing beautifully, as you will note if you rewatch Deja Vu. And believe me if you like Dami you are in lots of good company. I love their rock sound, and their dance in my opinion is the very best in the industry right now -- elegant, full of lovely details, great live, always executed with precision. And their vocals are superb, led by Siyeon, who impressed you so much in Boca, and is one of the best in the industry. If I may, they are the Essence of professionalism. I recommend all their stuff, but in particular you should see You and I (which concludes the 4-part series that began with Chase Me), and Because. They are consistently good, and every one of the members has grown over the years. You will probably also love their backstage stuff, which is hilarious. One other thing you should know. They used to be a 5-member group called Minx, which went nowhere with an attempt to fuse the prevailing cute and sexy concepts in 2015 or so. Their company did a complete reset aiming for a niche market with unique and challenging concepts, re-debuting them as Dreamcatcher in 2017 with new members Handong and Gahyeon. Probably the best management decision in the history of KPop. Chase Me was their first release.

I highly recommend watching the dance practices - The thing that drew me most to Dreamcatcher (after their amazing sound) was their dancing ability - They are SO good and have great choreo.
Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 Deja Vu is nothing short of a masterpiece. It is a beautiful, fragile ballad that kicks your teeth down your throat in the chorus. It is extra difficult to sort out, because it tells the story from two perspectives. You know how even evil people think they are the good guys? This is reflected here. One perspective is Yoohyeon's, who gets corrupted right in the beginning. She thinks JiU is bad (does not want to share power) and backstabs her and kills, imprisons or banishes the other members so that she can rule alone. The other perspective is reality, where we can see JiU be kind to Yoohyeon, but she gets killed for it. I believe this is a commentary on the different perspectives people can have about the same event. The lyrics seem to hint at an abusive relationship, where there are usually two perspectives as well, and the abuser finds excuses to justify their actions, while the abused find themselves in an endless Deja Vu. Black or White is a b-side and an homage to Michael Jackson. They often release special clips of their b-sides. Piri is the last part of the 6-MV Nightmare Arc, while Chase me is the first and also their debut. 😊 Finally, Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy, which deals with bullying and hate comments, in particular the online variant ("A trick behind a mask, a ridiculous freak" from Scream). Boca has the lines "Why do you fill your precious time with hate" and "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome! Who said you can't have three different musical genres in one song?
First Law of Dreamcatcher - It's all of them. You might say Dami but you also noticed Yoohyeon a lot, SuA and Siyeon a few times, and Gahyeon. They'll take turns charming you. Scream, Odd Eye, BEcause, Red Sun would be great songs next (SuA choreographed Red Sun). Fears/powers are their characters in the Nightmare series they left them behind when that ended. Their ACTUAL anime OST is called Eclipse. The whistle in Piri is from a sample package any producers can buy. Chase Me is Dreamcatcher's debut, the sequel is called Good Night. Before Chase Me, Dami was the maknae of a cute concept group named Minx so it took her a few comebacks to morph into the Dami you know (in You And I).

I think this is the first time I've seen this kind of format with the guessing of the names to faces and the fears. For me it was Yoohyeon and Jiu and then Yoohyeon and Siyeon (in Piri only). The problem was I was binging content and not at ALL in order so I kept thinking of Yoohyeon as the blonde girl and then of course Piri threw everything into chaos lol. You were right about Deja Vu being an ost, it was made in collaboration with the mobile game King's Raid. They also made a song for the opening of the King's Raid anime, the song is called Eclipse. They also did an ost for the mobile game Girl Cafe Gun called R.o.S.E Blue. I also think Siyeon looks like Seonghwa! ^^ My song recommendations are BEcause, Scream, and Red Sun! And you got it right that SuA must be a main dancer and a rapper (not Yoohyeon)! She's also a good vocalist. Loud #1. Funny #1. A genius dancer and choreographer. Siyeon 🐺is the group's amazing main vocalist and has one of the best Top 5 stage presences in girl KPop groups. She's also one of the top Korean female vocalists, with a great belt. Funny #2. It's so interesting that you picked random songs to react to, which is fine because you get a taste of all of what they can do. If you wanna do it by era (they do storylines throughout their title tracks), the first one is called Nightmare and it begins with Chase Me, Good Night, Fly High (the prequel to the storyline), You and I, What and finally Piri. Their Japanese song "Breaking Out" is an alternative ending. This is the storyline about their fears and how they also became nightmares haunting the investigator guy at the beginning. This is also the anime ost era, but as it progresses their sound starts becoming a bit more K-pop (still genre bending with rock and metal of course). Then the dystopia era has 3 parts: Scream, BOCA and Odd Eye. This era addresses the power of words and cyber bullying, taking into account that many idols or just anyone can go through depression and such because of something you said. At the start of BOCA, you see a tree. That's the tree of language and people corrupted it with hate. The last and current era is Apocalypse. It's about saving the Earth from global warming and pollution. It has three parts: MAISON, VISION and the last part will be released next year. After checking out the MVs, I recommend listening to their whole albums/EPs. They have lots of Japanese releases that are even more anime and metal.

"Deja Vu" was a collaboration with the mobile game "King's Raid." "Black & White" is one of their b-sides. Handong was in China during these promotions, which is why the group is only 6. "Piri" is the end of the Nightmare Series, which is the story their first MVs tell (and the one where the nightmare stuff is relevant). "Boca" is the second video in the Dystopia Trilogy. The first was "Scream" and the third is "Odd Eye." Handong was missing from "BOCA" and "SCREAM" promotions. "Chase Me" is DC's debut as well as the first MV released in the Nightmare Series. Before Chase Me, Dami was the maknae of a cute concept group named Minx so it took her a few comebacks to morph into the Dami you know (in You And I).

I think this is the first time I've seen this kind of format with the guessing of the names to faces and the fears. Queen SuA is smol, funny, fierce and the group's mom. And you got it right that SuA must be a main dancer and a rapper (not Yoohyeon)! She's also a good vocalist. Loud #1. Funny #1. A genius dancer and choreographer.
Siyeon 🐺is the group's amazing main vocalist and has one of the best Top 5 stage presences in girl KPop groups. She's also one of the top Korean female vocalists, with a great belt. Funny #2.
Handong 🐱is a vocalist. Has a sweet, angelic voice, that gave us some of the most iconic moments in DC discography. She's holding the pain and she's also beastly strong. Funny #3. (Chinese member). Very beautiful. Missed two comebacks.
Yoohyeon 🐶is the group's talented lead vocalist. She's the tallest, funny (#3) and clumsy. Her voice is incredible and has worked a lot for it. Very flexible and impressive on stage. Off stage, she's a darling. She speaks good English.
Dami 🐼the main rapper. In fact one of the best in KPop. Her unique voice has made her stand out. She's also a lead dancer and a good vocalist, lately. Big Brain, Big Pain. The Geek, the Big Paradox.

It's so interesting that you picked random songs to react to, which is fine because you get a taste of all of what they can do. If you wanna do it by era (they do storylines throughout their title tracks), the first one is called Nightmare and it begins with Chase Me, Good Night, Fly High (the prequel to the storyline), You and I, What and finally Piri. Their Japanese song "Breaking Out" is an alternative ending. This is the storyline about their fears and how they also became nightmares haunting the investigator guy at the beginning. This is also the anime ost era, but as it progresses their sound starts becoming a bit more K-pop (still genre bending with rock and metal of course).
Then the dystopia era has 3 parts: Scream, BOCA and Odd Eye. This era addresses the power of words and cyber bullying, taking into account that many idols or just anyone can go through depression and such because of something you said. At the start of BOCA, you see a tree. That's the tree of language and people corrupted it with hate.
The last and current era is Apocalypse. It's about saving the Earth from global warming and pollution. It has three parts: MAISON, VISION and the last part will be released next year.
After checking out the MVs, I recommend listening to their whole albums/EPs. They have lots of Japanese releases that are even more anime and metal.

"Deja Vu" was a collaboration with the mobile game "King's Raid."
"Black & White" is one of their b-sides. Handong was in China during these promotions, which is why the group is only 6.
"Piri" is the end of the Nightmare Series, which is the story their first MVs tell (and the one where the nightmare stuff is relevant).
"Boca" is the second video in the Dystopia Trilogy. The first was "Scream" and the third is "Odd Eye." Handong was missing from "BOCA" and "SCREAM" promotions.
"Chase Me" is DC's debut as well as the first MV released in the Nightmare Series. If you google the names of their story arcs (Nightmare Series, Dystopia Trilogy, and Apocalypse Trilogy), you should be able to find tons of posts/wikis/whatever telling you the order of MVs. Or just ask InSomnias in the comments lol. "Chase Me" was followed directly by "Good Night."
