  • Wooooo Hooooo Ant Rc have a Cross RC BC8 Mammoth. This is such an exciting moment, we never thought this would be possible. Thanks to such an addictive and amazing hobby, here we are!
    I talk about why I have purchased this truck as it has a very special meaning, I unbox it and compare it to the MC6. Grab a drink and some food and enjoy!!!

    Good Daughter vs bike you have done the right thing. It's not owning the bike but riding it as the roads are in such bad condition now also the driving standards have dropped so much. But the Truck is worth all that money and the chassis is fantastic. The flagship has so many parts that are new and so much metal. The tyres are huge and perform well as you know from the videos when I went out with Dan's one. But the body you will love or hate the little handles round the cab. When I did the rush build it took 40hrs to finish and that was quick but you need to take you time. The wheels and tyres just looking the are great those went together with no issues. All those extra plastic items is in part down to you needing a few small bits. You would think they would of done it so all those little bits needed was on one tree to save money in the long run. The speaker on the MC8 is not great and used the same but a spare cross that was louder. I'm thinking of buying the same size speaker but better quality. I think Simon does say buy a better speaker from him. The little nut socket that came with the drill when using those bolts I found it better to run a screw in first with a little wax and then the bolts. The 2 servo's does need a BEC link they need a lot of amps to turn the wheels. Now you will be itching to get building :-)

      Thanks Mal. I feel that I have made the right decision. It just feels relaxed as it should. I am itching to get onto the build. I am very much looking forward to a slow build. Enjoying every moment and taking my time. I will def be asking for advice on the tricky bits 👍 cheers.

      Putting that body together and painting it is the hardest part to me. The chassis was a breeze. It is a very time consuming project

      @@inyourearhole225 yes. Painting and bodywork is not my favourite. I am a chassis man lol. I am going to be taking extra care when I get to the body.

    Very nice video! Pretty disappointing that the company making it, don't actually state that this is a Soviet MAZ-537. Probably a copyright issue ?

    • @antrc
      @antrc  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah exactly, I don't think they hold the licence to say that. Hence all their kits are named something else.

      I think Russian lawyers should sue this company. This is going to be a very funny process in 2023. 😉

    Great video and review. I appreciate and enjoy a good back story like the one you gave. I watched the whole thing. To respond to your question, is it worth the money? Reminds me of the saying "Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten" Aldo Gucci 1938. Couldn't be anymore true eh in regards to this kit in my opinion. Another interesting question would be.....how does it compare to the non-flagship version? And to visually see the differences side by side, but I guess for those answers you would physically need the other kit beside you. Anyway best of luck pal, enjoy your build. One nice way of justifying getting rid of the bike is that by the time you finish this build you'll be too old to ride that thing anyway, haha jk. Look forward to the upcoming build videos, cheers 👍

      Thank you very much. I am glad you enjoyed the video. I guess to some this maybe just a purchase but for me it was a huge decision and sacrifice. Good question regarding the standard version. I believe the axles are all plastic and you dont get the drivers and goodies etc in the kit. I could have that wrong. You are right regarding the build. It will be a long. Plenty of vids to come 👍😁

    Congratulations my friend I know you really wanted one, I absolutely love mine. As a massive bike fan My heart breaks for you having to sell your motorbike, but I understand when my daughter was born I went mostly off-road. The small bag with the drillbit in is for making some holes in the body slightly bigger. And the tool in there is for putting in small scale bolts on the wheel arches and the towing hooks. Now the bad news the speaker is still just as quiet. I wish I’d known you would’ve liked a comparison video, I would’ve done one for you. Have fun with the build and if I can help in anyway let me know.

    Terry, that was really interesting, and I'm really happy for you - always great to see such enthusiasm! That thing really looks brilliant (it's true they're ugly, but in the best possible way - they're like diesel trains on wheels, completely mad but so fantastically purposeful). I can't wait to see those axles and chassis come together, they look really special. I think you may well have topped the MC8... 😱🤣🤣👍

    Very nice, glad to see you actually got it. I hope you'll have a lot of fun with it. I really like the independent suspension system. I was actually eyeing some Tatra scale model with swinging axles, just to have something different from the solid axles. And wow that's a Mammoth indeed. Looking forward to see the build progress.
    If you want to haul something I think this was originally designed to haul tanks. You can get some cheap one on Banggood, get Andrew to get one as well to haul with the MC8, go out in the woods and have some fun battles after hauling them in the battlefield via an obstacle course.
    And be sure to replace the connectors on that motor. If this needs enough power to get that big motor very hot they will burn or melt. Solder them directly or put a decent connector there. I frequently use deans, xt60 but you can go with xt90 to connect the brushed motor and easily swap it. For brushless, just bit the bullet and do direct soldering or big big bullet connectors.

    Whatttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt no way I want one so bad. I went at Christmas to get one and they were out of stock that’s how I ended up with the other rigs. This Christmas for sure. Man that’s what you call a friendship awesome Stuff A never grow up. They are massive there was one at USTE that made me want one even more. A will have his hands full painting this one. I could only imagine the price over there there a lot over here. It sucks you had to sale your bike my wife made me get rid off main when we had kids and in hindsight it was probably for the best in NYC it’s just crazy nobody looks for bikes before switching lines. I’m very excited for you. Don’t let him refuse to paint it he needs to paint it. Are you done yet lol you couldn’t have got this at a better time lockdown I want to see it belt in a week lol 😂😂😂 sorry this was so long was typing as I went along with the video
