babylionhotshot.teachable.com/p/excel-for-hotshot-trucking I got the Excel / Load Logger Tutorial Done for every one who wants to learn how I keep track of their loads, Payments and data. You don't have to pay for expensive software if you don't want to.
I head out tomorrow. Officially going to be my first time out. I'm going out the whole month of April as well! Heading to Chicago area with a load tomorrow .
Hell ya Nicholas! hey man its hard your first year but its worth it. if you don't have your own authority Make sure you get that as soon as possible. Chicago is a good area/ lots of freight. And most of all be SAFE! it is dangerous and nothing on your trailer is worth more than you. If im running late, I call and communicate that to the receivers and or broker ahead of time. Good communication solves 99% of problems. Good Luck again 🥳
I'm leased on to a great guy so far. Very transparent. Got me 2 partials @ 2.80 a mile. Dropped both today and picking up one tomorrow to Massachusetts and will be getting another partial tomorrow. I'm going to lease for a year or so to get my bearings out here on the game and rock n roll
I love this video but I mean this in the nicest way possible… I think you should take an excel class from google or even a university level course. I have a masters in data analytics and I think that if you do it would help you tremendously. Especially if you can take what you learn and apply it to your excel sheets so that they’re better. I’m looking into getting into hotshot trucking as a side hustle to be able to afford myself a nicer truck so thank you for making content and teaching me!!!
Ya I mean I have thought about it. when I took my Excel Class in school I didn't really have a practical application for it until now. Take a refresher would benefit me a lot because know If a function would be good for me or not. so I can take what I need and leave the rest. Continuing education is never a bad move. Thanks for the tip!
Also for excel you dont have to type the number. You can click the square. Click your action button and then click the square it will select that square. Same with dragging squares to select a range of them.

Hey Marco I appreciate that. Ya I think the numbers are the most important thing. Also it help the newer people in the industry see what normal rates look like so they don't get taken advantage of. Transparency is how we as truckers stick together and hold steady on what we will take stuff for. Not trying to be harsh and I obviously was in your shoes like last year so not even that long ago. Get your CDL. Get your own Authority. It really is that easy. Im trying to tell people.
