I've had my K2 for over 10 years and I've only replaced the high pressure hose because it got damaged. Mine has the built in mixer tank and I use Karcher car and bike detergent which works brilliant. Allways let the low pressure water run through it before you use it on high pressure, this stops the pump running dry on first start up and prevents damage.
Iv been fairly happy with my k2. Its now 7 years old and works just fine. It takes time to clean my v90 for sure and that is why i upgraded to k7, cant wait for it to arrive. The k2 has endured much in its lifetime, the plastics are cheap and break fairly easily, but techically its still working fine. Never did i bleed any air out and its been stored in cold, small storage hut (-30c) sometimes in finland and still works.
Bought mine 3 years ago for £90, got a foam lance with it. The patio wash for an extra £17 is a must have. I like it a lot. Perfect for what I need it for. Washing the car and keeping the garden and the front yard clean. And thanks for yet another brill video mate 👌
I have a k7. Bought my buddy a k2 compact home with patio cleaner for £80 on sale, which is a bargain. Having one of each end of Karcher’s products, I can safely say for most household tasks including cleaning a car, patios and most things outside, the k2 is more than adequate in terms of power. I find the onboard tool storage for the compact to be terrible for what’s supposed to be a space saving machine, but that’s the only drawback. Value for money is insane. Honestly, car cleaning requires very little power. Even on my k7, karcher recommend using the dialled down power settings, and it shifts the dirt just the same as using it on its high setting. Karcher’s seem really well made and last forever if you just drain them out after each use especially in the winter. I’m curious to see what the Bosch pressure washers are like, because their models are slightly more powerful and even cheaper to buy.
I currently use a K2 on a smallish driveway to clean 2 Fords maybe once each a month. The K2 is a great optimum performance washer, good enough for small to medium sized cars. As with all optimum devices it's not the best but flow rate is good enough and the machine does a great job when you use decent products with it to decontaminate and clean your car(s). Dave is spot on about the hose and (as he says) just get a longer hose (cheaply from the Karcher Outlet - another great tip I got from Dave) and this will give you enough length to get round your car(s) hassle free. I have caught my hose a few times on my car wheels but this does not release the hose from the Karcher and is no issue. In fact I just leave the K2 where I initially place it on the driveway and can reach around both my cars with the longer hose. Lightness is also a benefit to me making the device highly portable. Coupled with the cheaper Karcher foam bottles (again see Karcher Outlet for these) it's a no brainer. Dave's final thoughts as usual are spot on and I agree entirely with his findings. Weekend warrior, low volume application with good quality products = optimum solution. Thanks Dave!
@@lizziedripping71 Hi Lizzie - no worries - it of course will also depend on the quantity of cars and their sizes too. A more efficient (powerful & capable) washer will do the job on a larger car quicker but as you say could well be heavier too. Funnily enough I have a K5 replacement waiting to go but am still using the K2 happily for now :)
Great review! You are spot on about the hose. When I started to get in to detailing my cars I quickly found I was lugging the K2 unit I have around the car and moving the hose, electrical extension etc. eventually I bought a much longer and better hose, off ebay. Loads easier! The unit now just stays in one place whatever I'm doing and the whole job is a quicker and more pleasurable experience.
I'd a K2 and the hose length was my biggest bug bearer as I'd to constantly keep moving the unit around the car to wash all of it but I'd no problems with the extension reel getting dragged about.... To buy a longer pressure cost almost have the price of the machine and possibly more making it more sense to spend the money upfront on something like a K4
Bought a K2.360 and it worked well to clean my cars then it leaked after 3 months of use. Took it in for repairs and i was given a new Unit which so far i am loving it plus the motor sounds stronger and just the way the new machine works. Could be maybe its my imagination. It definitely needs a longer hose as i too prefer to keep my machine in one place while i am using it and not keep on dragging it around. For now my K2.360 is working well for me.
Had mine 2 yrs and did upgrade the hose, as it's poor but at the price can't really complain I wash my car 2 times a month. It's not for commercial so don't think of comparing that way. It's entry lvl 👍
Been using mine for a few months now and it’s never missed a beat, throw a short trigger on there get rid of the oem lance, slap on a 10m hose and your good to go. I came from an older style k2 which lasted for many years, as for the power of the machine you don’t need anything more than this to wash cars, even do my drive and patio twice a year with no problems.
Buy cheap, buy twice! I got the K7 Compact on a Black Friday deal for £299 delivered, 10m quality hose and 550 litres/hr so is a great performer for a weekend warrior like myself.👍
Hose length is an issue. Agreed, i jave to use mine with a tank too its okay. Ive had my K2 for 6 years and have no other complaints good servent to me
I've had my K2 around 4 years and totally agree with you about the hose, it drove me mad so I bought a 15 metre one from ebay for 20 quid. 😎 The unit now sits in the garage in one place and the new hose is long enough to do the car. A hose must cost pennies to make so God knows why karcher don't give you a 10 metre one. 🤔
The reason they do that is because they know they can profit off selling longer hoses so once the buyer has the machine they will be bought to their knees. Bad for customers for thats their business model sadly.
I am a full time valeter and have used the k2 for the last 18 months. I have swapped the hose for a 15 meter and quick release. I am now on my 3ed having burned 2 out. They are a very good little washer for the money but will be going down the kranzel route when this goes.
Mobile valeter here, yes the hose could be longer, but I get on fine with it going 2/3 cars a day. Size and weight was important as being mobile space is a premium
I gave the K4 full control. The hose was shite, so that got binned and I had a 10 meter one fitted by Norton Hydraulics in Hertfordshire. It works fine for me, but I will be investing in a Kranzle next time round. Great review.
Had one of these, and cooked it. Turns out that the machine was air cooled and I was washing the path and car in 25 degree heat for 6 hrs lol. I made sure that the K4 was water cooled. The karcher hoses are really bad at curling. i bought a karcher extension hose for my k4 and it just does the same thing. I;m probably going to go with a new direct hoses one next year.
Just treated my self to a compact K4 does the job fine so can get the family's cars done for a few 💰 of course. The hose just right length put it one side of car & goes round to other side fine. Keep the videos rolling 👍😁
Same problem with most Karchers, they all need upgrades, I went with a stubby gun, quick release system, 10 metre rubber non kink hose so never need to move the unit around, MJJC foam cannon and most importantly of all I got a refurbished unit from the Karcher outlet which meant I could afford a K4 instead of a K2! It's been faultless so far, best thing I've bought in ages. IMHO the K2 is no better than the unit I bought from Lidl for £60!
Lol I got my k2 for £95. I owned the old k4 which stopped Working after about 20 years. I must admit I did notice when it comes to the flow of water and like you said the hose was also a lot longer. I think once once you use any jet washer you never want to back to manual cleaner. I also love that it’s a lot lighter and some of the accessories are really useful. I hardly use the blaster as it removes my paint, grout and mortar. Essentially it’s a great little machine. Stores away nicely. I use it to clean almost everywhere outdoors. Personally I hope they make some slightly smaller brush attachments. Tying to find one, any ideas. Great review though.👍
At the moment I’m using my 3rd k2 as mobile valet business, I have a genuine karcher 7.5 m hose and few attachments, they last longer than machine it self, after two years doing an average 5 full valets a week it start leaking. So just got. €100 in to my pocket and got another one. In my opinion there is no point to get a higher model, this one is light and compact and does the job.
Fair Play i see your point. Ive got the nilfisk core 125 on the channel next week. In fact im filming with karcher so can't wait to reveal the entire range.
Had the k2 for 6 months and it's used weekly, not too bad for vehicles that aren't too soiled as we keep ours up to scratch on a regular basis. You need patience with the hose and if you take a little extra time it's not that bad. But i will probably opt for the k5 or 7 next time to make life easier!
My K2 broke recently - I agree about the hose as it is absolutely dire. Got myself a Titan pressure washer from Screwfix for £90 and I am happy with it. Better hose as well!
Got mine around five months ago and the thing has paid for itself 5x over. I bought a longer hose off Amazon and the job was a good one. I find the dirt blaster lance is very good for doing the ground and other things and the car lance does a job on the cars. I think it is very good value for money. I would either spend a lot more and get a Kranzle or get a K2. No point getting one in between. The rest aren't that much better than the K2 given their price.
Can't argue with the price. Think its luck of the draw as well. Some people have had nightmares with the reliability. Thanks for watching and love the profile pic lol
I always tell people no matter the reason if you've never used one buy a SunJoe. Seriously it's the best choice for a beginner they are really not that expensive and they are very well made.
Ive had my k2 for about 10 years now, replaced a couple of o rings in it and it seems to just keep going. Not the most powerful and the short hose is a pain so next one i buy will definitely have a longer hose!
Have u used it's compact version? I've heard it has an upgraded motor than the basic one and comes with a dirt blaster lance and detergent suction tube.
I got the Karcher K2 Power Control about a month ago and I agree the hose is too short and the pressure is a bit on the low side, but for general use it does the job and I only paid £78 for it, so at that price I can't complain too much.
I just brought one......its great. did my garden fence outhouse patio cleaned everything< normally cost a lot of money to pay someone...not anymore. just time.
bought the k2 compact from karcher re conditioned for £30 and paid a fiver more for a 12x months guarantee, works fine but had to buy a longer hose and having to move it is a pain but you get what you pay for.
I did a lot of research on these before I got mine and found the nilfisk was better for the same money you got a more powerful machine, mine came with a 5m water hose and a 3.5m power lead
agreed Dave, hoses always poor on most Karcher's, thin and short -- best just to replace them (good place on eBay does great quality replacements -- i have a 15m one fitted to my K4), plus I always use *Hose-eez* to stop the hose catching round the tyres.....you'll thank me later! 😁
The hose on K2,3 and 4 is to stiff and brittle I went through 2 hoses on my K2. Bought a more rubbery one for the k4 I am using at the min way better. Plus I got it 15m long no more dragging the jet wash round. Great bid as always bud
second hand + 10m hose and good to go (65€), adapt & reuse my foam canon (5€), thinking about adding the Vario 360 (20€) perfect for my use (car & exterior @ home)
Hi matey I've got a k2 as a weekend warrior I got mine from home base in a sale so I got it even cheaper and I've got an 8mtr extension hose so no dragging works well.
Nice one Lee, That short hose is a deal breaker for most people. Just wish they would think about what people would use it for. The majority use these for cars. Thanks for watching mate
I don't how Karcher think people can get on with that. Its almost like they made this with the intention to sell the longer hose. The short ones have no value whatsoever
@@epicautomotivedetailing a lot of companies do that to make customer spend additional money which they wouldnt need if hose would be longer, i bought mine k2 for 65 quid ( reduced to clear stock) so cant go wrong for that price to just wash car :)
Don’t let it get too cold in winter, bring it indoors. Plastic motor unlike the Nilfisks which are metal and don’t crack under frosty conditions. Wouldn’t touch a Karcher with a plastic motor as I don’t need another clothes hanger in the warm bedroom over winter.
If you're buying a k'archer, then really you need a K4 or better, because those have metal pumps, and these K2 have plastic. This is ok for the odd wash now and again, but don't buy it expecting a workhorse to do a 3 car family and the patio every week, because it won't last. You might as well buy a Halfords own brand which actually has slightly more pressure than this, and only costs £65.
I started out with k2 and was a struggle and so funny looking back, used to blow them up in 6 months and would buy them when b&q did special weekend deals for about £40, even the new k5 struggles to pull from a water tank now though, the older machines were better at it
@@epicautomotivedetailing i bought the k5 and replaced it with the kranzle within a month because it would lose pressure, great machine off the mains water
Years ago I had a soft top convertible. I used my jar her to clean my lovely new car and it cut a 6” slot in the roof. Never used a pressure washer on the car again. I’ll stick to cleaning the paving with it.
Had a K2 and it constantly broke, even the replacements issued under warranty went the same way - In the end I cut my losses and bought a Kranzle - I am only a weekend warrior but just wanted reliability.
Thanks mate from Adelaide South Australia. Sick of the el cheapo Aldi pressure washers only lasting beyond the warranty period or not working straight out of the box. Your review here appears to have caught the manufacturer's attention. My local Bunnings store has the K2 with a 6 metre hose now. I feel your pain with the short hose. Sick of getting soaked in the middle of winter after the car gets grotty. All the best.
I got my Karcher K2 from Amazon for £81 I'm jim-dandy with that, works great, seem plenty powerful and small, as for washing cars I could do with a longer hose £20 Amazon. Cheap and cheerful.
Nice one. Yeah it's totally good enough for some people but I had to put my detailing business head on for this video so it fell short in some areas. The nilfisk range is pretty good now
Brought my k2 at morrisons half price for 50 pounds still working fine after 7years.just joined your channel. got a longer hose from a old karcher. Like your video on karcher foam gun for 15 pounds just been made redundant after 20 years with same job. any one nose a job for a vending operater Suffolk area please help.
I’ve got a k2, I’ve upgraded to a longer aftermarket hose and put a quick connector on outlet of pump, but watched your videos on Ava and nilfisk, when the k2 gives up the ghost it’s going to be one of those makes, 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Granted I have a k2 but was originally bought for general home patio and garden use until I got an interest in detailing, so have just ordered a longer lead as yes you end up dragging the unit around with hose/extension reel tangled up soaking wet, surprised I haven't had a jolt from the mains either. Health and safety wise it is totally an issue with the design. Also not having any means of a cable tidy wrap for after use
Phew...my K2 has packed in...its at least 8yrs old...washes the car evey weekend....upgraded the hose years ago but todays model looks a different fitment to mine....buy a 10 mtr hose and its perfect for washing the Jag....
I have a Karcher K2 and been using it for 4 years. But I wish I bought a Lidl / Aldi / Screwfix / Neilfisk brand for the same price but has more power and longer hose.
I have the k2. I use for my ford custom van. It’s been great but I used a pressure washer at the petrol station and it took the dirt off much faster. I did use the hot water brush on black paint 😬 but it was super quick. So got me thinking about upgrading
Bought a K2 about 6 years ago. Got it for £60 at Homebase on sale. Lasted about 3 years before it packed in. Had my K4 now for 2 years £160 at Halfords. You can definitely tell a difference in quality between the 2.
I've used the karcher k2 as a business doing 2-3 cars a day 4days a week for 4 years and its never missed a beat payed £62 at time,. Only thing I did was add 10m hose been great for the van using small generator and water tank. Value for money compared to a kranzle 🤣
Just picked up one of these k2 washers and its just for my own car, i think i can live with the negatives you mention, all my life ive just used a standard hose and sponge, hopefully this k2 will give better results. I aim to use it once every 6 weeks or so. I have used the k5 for my driveway before and i know this k2 is lower spec but seeing as its just for my car only time will tell if it is upto the job or not. (Got to be better than a standard garden hose right?).
I bought one a few years ago, but think they have improved my K2 model. The hose is stiff like my manhood, can't unfurl it, so really hate it. It's a budget pressure washer. I knew that when I bought it, and have used it to jet wash the patio and driveway. My K2 is very noisy, and when I release the trigger, the motor still wants to push out water and keep makes this coughing sound until I switch it off and on again. Won't buy another, but can't say it hasn't done the job I bought it for, because it has. It's cheap and OK, but not great. But I am wanting to upgrade to a better one. The new Big Boi pressure washer looks fantastic, the design, a rebadged quality snow foam with legible measure table on the side (worth £30), the spray attachments, the filter, the long metal lance. UltimateFinish have them at £249, but there is a 10% discount code available. Would love for you to do a review on the Marolex Master 1.5 litre Viton pressure hand sprayer as well.
Hi Flash im working on Ultimate finish. I want to get one to film then give it away in a video. My discount code isnt available yet with UF but when it is ill let you know as ill be after getting subscribers a bigger discount
What water tank do you use? And would you recommend it for just your average at home once or twice a month car clean? I only ask because I don’t have an outdoor tap to use and I don’t like the idea of risking it with the kitchen tap.
Hello watch my video featuring nilfisk. It's way better than the K2. As for pulling water you can actually buy a pop up water butt that you can top up with water then fold away after 👌
I use a k2 and it’s faultless. Put a longer hose on it. At work I use a k4 and it seems the k2 is more powerful that’s probably because the k4 is a bit old now
@@epicautomotivedetailing yeh that’s the same with the one I use. It’s been used a awful lot and I had to replace the trigger as it started pulsating. One thing I don’t like with the k4 and many others is that the hose and the Lance hose both come out the front. I prefer the k2 because ones in the back and ones out the front.
Thank you for the video. Spot on Dave about the hose, it's way too short. By the time you've purchased a longer hose it's not so much of a bargain. Although it's a very handy size if you're valeting from a car. Age old adage I suppose "you get what you've paid for". As you rightly said in a previous video, it's better to purchase a factory refurbished professional Karcher washer.
Great Video. I just ordered Karcher K2 compact. My only concern is that I heard some other reviewers saying this machine is not made for running more than 20 minutes straight.
I'll be honest I didn't like it. I tried to see positives in it but soon as you try the nilfisk core 125 u soon realise how good they are. K2 overheat very quickly with a small motor. For most people it's fine but bear in mind unless you're patio cleaning for hours on end it will be ok
@@epicautomotivedetailing Thank you. I had watched your comparison video between the two. But I got a good deal for karcher K2 on amazon and I went for it. Also, I only wash my car once a month because I use my motorcycle often instead.
Hope is sort so it's a pain move in it about but it don't brake easy like you said it's been in back of my car with loads of things and it's good.electric cable just put one of them plastic plug covers on it so no water gets in
Dave, do you run your equipment off a generator or tap up owner with an extension lead? Also do you top up your tank off customers water via hose or just use your own at night? Cheers buddy

I have just put this question on an earlier video but this is in the now zone. You have inspired me to buy a pressure washer taking all your pros and cons into account. Have you reviewed the Spear and Jackson 2000 watt which only seems available at Argos? It was recently recommended on the This Morning program.
Don’t know if I have just been unlucky but I’m on my third one in two years, they have just stopped working and karcher have replaced them. Only used to clean my cars
Got a K2 , pain in the arse. Hose is coil fuckery and its so light that unrealing it or untangling it, or even running out of hose just causes it to fall over. Mine literally spends all its life on its side getting dragged around in a tangled mess lmao

Nice one 👍 . Definitely not terrible Machine just wish they put more effort into things like selling it with a longer hose
Had mine 2 yrs and did upgrade the hose, as it's poor but at the price can't really complain I wash my car 2 times a month. It's not for commercial so don't think of comparing that way. It's entry lvl 👍
Totally get that. That's why I said in the video "it's not for commercial" but so many valeters asked me so I had to make it
@@epicautomotivedetailing still a great video as always 👍
Been using mine for a few months now and it’s never missed a beat, throw a short trigger on there get rid of the oem lance, slap on a 10m hose and your good to go. I came from an older style k2 which lasted for many years, as for the power of the machine you don’t need anything more than this to wash cars, even do my drive and patio twice a year with no problems.
Hello Fair play. I was a bit critical of the Karcher k2. I got the nilfisk core 125 too and that in terms of build quality is incredible
Totally agree with the hose. I probably use mine most weekends but it's only max two cars. For the price it's ok
The price saves I think. If it was more money think people would be all over karcher.
I just purchased the K2 promo for servicing my four split AC units. It’s perfect for this, to use every 3 months
Buy cheap, buy twice! I got the K7 Compact on a Black Friday deal for £299 delivered, 10m quality hose and 550 litres/hr so is a great performer for a weekend warrior like myself.👍
Yeah k7 is fantastic. I've used one and it's solid
A fair and honest review , I've got a K5 compact with a 15m direct hoses reel myself and it's a great combo .
Thanks Mark, yeah you can't go wrong with a 15m hose on a pressure washer
Pressure drop. The machine is already on the lower side of power.
Yep I have one and the hose does my melon in!! Coils up even after making sure it’s fully laid out. I’m going Kranzle next.
Don't blame you. I'm getting kranzle once the new van gets sorted
Same here, went from the basic Karcher to the basic Kranzle. Love it, so much more robust than the Karcher.
Be a lot of women disappointed in that hose length. New sub, love your straight to the point video's.
Thank you. Karcher need to know this stuff its basic lol
I am a full time valeter and have used the k2 for the last 18 months. I have swapped the hose for a 15 meter and quick release. I am now on my 3ed having burned 2 out. They are a very good little washer for the money but will be going down the kranzel route when this goes.
Yes get in!!! Another David Walker commenting on my channel ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Agree on kranzle
Do you power the k2 with a generator ?
Mobile valeter here, yes the hose could be longer, but I get on fine with it going 2/3 cars a day. Size and weight was important as being mobile space is a premium
Yeah the size is perfect for people with small cars instead of vans. and yeah it connects to the water tank so it does have some mega good points
I gave the K4 full control. The hose was shite, so that got binned and I had a 10 meter one fitted by Norton Hydraulics in Hertfordshire.
It works fine for me, but I will be investing in a Kranzle next time round.
Great review.
Don't blame you on the kranzle. Im getting one soon
Same, binned supplied hose for a 15m flexi
Had one of these, and cooked it. Turns out that the machine was air cooled and I was washing the path and car in 25 degree heat for 6 hrs lol. I made sure that the K4 was water cooled. The karcher hoses are really bad at curling. i bought a karcher extension hose for my k4 and it just does the same thing. I;m probably going to go with a new direct hoses one next year.
Hi mate yeah the hoses are a pain
Just treated my self to a compact K4 does the job fine so can get the family's cars done for a few 💰 of course. The hose just right length put it one side of car & goes round to other side fine. Keep the videos rolling 👍😁
On this guys advice I purchased the 7125 pro karcher direct from karcher and couldn't be more impressed thanks for your advice
IMHO the K2 is no better than the unit I bought from Lidl for £60!
my next video is karcher k5 cpompact vs ava p55 go and core 140 from nilfisk so all good budget pressure washers which im doing a comparison on.
Thank you. My next video is a karcher k7 review
In fact im filming with karcher so can't wait to reveal the entire range.
agreed about the short hose. Ok for cleaning a car at home for yourself. But longer hose would be a big help.
This machine got on my nerves lol
I've got a K2 horizontal and I personally love it as a first pressure washer. Its perfect for me cleaning the car
Ive got the Nilfisk core 125 coming next week on the channel stay tuned as that could be the one!
My K2 broke recently - I agree about the hose as it is absolutely dire. Got myself a Titan pressure washer from Screwfix for £90 and I am happy with it. Better hose as well!
Nice one, Yeah the k2 wasnt great. Ive got a crazy amoutn of pressure washer videos coming this year
Got mine around five months ago and the thing has paid for itself 5x over.
Flow rate is far more important than pressure, often overlooked by many people
Very Good point
You're correct, flow rate before pressure every time
I always tell people no matter the reason if you've never used one buy a SunJoe. Seriously it's the best choice for a beginner they are really not that expensive and they are very well made.
We don't have them in UK
Ive had my k2 for about 10 years now, replaced a couple of o rings in it and it seems to just keep going. Not the most powerful and the short hose is a pain so next one i buy will definitely have a longer hose!
Thanks for sharing this will really people reading things like this. Yeah the general public all agree the hose is dire
Have u used it's compact version? I've heard it has an upgraded motor than the basic one and comes with a dirt blaster lance and detergent suction tube.
I've used all of them and nilfisk blow it to bits
Up to K4 is a no-no. Believe me.
I got the Karcher K2 Power Control about a month ago and I agree the hose is too short and the pressure is a bit on the low side, but for general use it does the job and I only paid £78 for it, so at that price I can't complain too much.
I just brought one......its great. did my garden fence outhouse patio cleaned everything< normally cost a lot of money to pay someone...not anymore. just time.
Fair play if it works for you thats great! i got the k7 now and loving it
bought the k2 compact from karcher re conditioned for £30 and paid a fiver more for a 12x months guarantee, works fine but had to buy a longer hose and having to move it is a pain but you get what you pay for.
I did a lot of research on these before I got mine and found the nilfisk was better for the same money you got a more powerful machine, mine came with a 5m water hose and a 3.5m power lead
Nice one. I've got to do a video on my xpert because that's a real bargain
@@epicautomotivedetailing yeah I looked at these but couldn’t stretch to the budget of one, even a reconditioned was £575
agreed Dave, hoses always poor on most Karcher's, thin and short -- best just to replace them (good place on eBay does great quality replacements -- i have a 15m one fitted to my K4), plus I always use *Hose-eez* to stop the hose catching round the tyres.....you'll thank me later! 😁
Cheers mate thanks for sharing the top tip
I bought a Nilfisk model instead and must say i think it is a much better option. all of the nilfisk washers have very good quality for their price
Nilfisk win hands down 💪
I get on very well with my Nilfisk, with a 20 metre replacement hose 😁
Amazing how much easier it makes life 👏
The hose on K2,3 and 4 is to stiff and brittle I went through 2 hoses on my K2. Bought a more rubbery one for the k4 I am using at the min way better. Plus I got it 15m long no more dragging the jet wash round. Great bid as always bud
Good call 👏. 15m hose is perfect for most people
second hand + 10m hose and good to go (65€), adapt & reuse my foam canon (5€), thinking about adding the Vario 360 (20€) perfect for my use (car & exterior @ home)
Nice one 👍
Hi matey I've got a k2 as a weekend warrior I got mine from home base in a sale so I got it even cheaper and I've got an 8mtr extension hose so no dragging works well.
Nice one Lee, That short hose is a deal breaker for most people. Just wish they would think about what people would use it for. The majority use these for cars. Thanks for watching mate
I've got this and it's true what you say about the short hose, definitely a ball ache getting around the car
Very true the plastic insides are weak as... Thanks for watching mate
I've had my K2 compact for 6 months now. Invested in a longer hose and it does the job just lacking pressure a little as you said.
Nice one. Did you lose any power from the longer hose?
If you're buying a k'archer, then really you need a K4 or better, because those have metal pumps, and these K2 have plastic.
This is ok for the odd wash now and again, but don't buy it expecting a workhorse to do a 3 car family and the patio every week, because it won't last.
You might as well buy a Halfords own brand which actually has slightly more pressure than this, and only costs £65.
I started out with k2 and was a struggle and so funny looking back, used to blow them up in 6 months and would buy them when b&q did special weekend deals for about £40, even the new k5 struggles to pull from a water tank now though, the older machines were better at it
Interesting you say that the K2 pulled water easier than the k5 I tested. I got the xpert and it's been great
@@epicautomotivedetailing i bought the k5 and replaced it with the kranzle within a month because it would lose pressure, great machine off the mains water
Years ago I had a soft top convertible. I used my jar her to clean my lovely new car and it cut a 6” slot in the roof. Never used a pressure washer on the car again. I’ll stick to cleaning the paving with it.
Crikey How powerful was it?
@@epicautomotivedetailing he maybe used the thin nozzle
Had a K2 and it constantly broke, even the replacements issued under warranty went the same way - In the end I cut my losses and bought a Kranzle - I am only a weekend warrior but just wanted reliability.
I hear you mate. I'm getting a kranzle soon too hopefully.
Short hoses are so frustrating. Looking back I can't believe I bared with a 3 meter hose for years. A long hose is definitely the way to go.
Definitely mate. Long hose makes the job sop much easier without having to move the machine plus its less dangerous
Yeah they still not good enough. Ava pressure washers seem to be the future
Yes I agree,it is a lot weaker than I expected , my next one will be a petrol powered pressure washer.
To be fair you can get some great electric Karchers. I got the Xpert hd7125
I was actually especting this soooooo much
Thank you
I got my Karcher K2 from Amazon for £81 I'm
jim-dandy with that, works great, seem plenty powerful and small, as for washing cars I could do with a longer hose £20 Amazon. Cheap and cheerful.
Nice one. Yeah it's totally good enough for some people but I had to put my detailing business head on for this video so it fell short in some areas. The nilfisk range is pretty good now
@@epicautomotivedetailing Good video thanks.
Ok for the weekend, weekly car wash or cleaning the patio. If you want a professional job you need professional tools that are durable and reliable.
Amen to that! thanks for watching
Brought my k2 at morrisons half price for 50 pounds
still working fine after 7years.just joined your channel.
got a longer hose from a old karcher.
Like your video on karcher foam gun for 15 pounds
just been made redundant after 20 years with same job.
any one nose a job for a vending operater Suffolk area
please help.
Thats impressive think its the luck of the draw with karchers as i had some good ones but some terrible ones
I recently used it on a caravan and was pretty impressed with it
Yeah fair play it has its moments. :)
Depends on which Ava. The p80 is starting to annoy me a bit now so I'd say the p60 is actually better
@@epicautomotivedetailing what are the issues with the 80, I’m interested even though I’m considering the 60🤔🤔🤔🤔
@@daveallsopp320 p80 too powerful for UK electrical circuit
@@epicautomotivedetailing ah yes I remember you saying, the conundrum is Ava or nilfisk🤣🤣🤣🤣
The reason they don't give you a longer hose is because the price of a 10m Karcher hose is more than the price of the K2.
EXCELLENT VIDEO I wish most pressure washer video demos would show mobile use connected to a water tank.
From now on that's always going to be a feature
Phew...my K2 has packed in...its at least 8yrs old...washes the car evey weekend....upgraded the hose years ago but todays model looks a different fitment to mine....buy a 10 mtr hose and its perfect for washing the Jag....
Just done my whole patio with it. Patio like new now. Cheap and cheerful does the job. Why spend more when it's not necessary for your use.
nice one 👌
I have a Karcher K2 and been using it for 4 years.
But I wish I bought a Lidl / Aldi / Screwfix / Neilfisk brand for the same price but has more power and longer hose.
Got the pw20 from Halfords which is very similar spec, this Halfords is more powerful too and only £65 with a longer hose.
Bargain mate well done. I got a Nilfisk coming to the channel soon
Excellent review
Nice one bargain 👌
@@epicautomotivedetailing got it :D gonna try it out tomorrow
However I do run it off a water tank using a 25 meter hose, pre primed, and it does work well.
Nice one that's interesting to know. Well done for that
I have the k2. I use for my ford custom van. It’s been great but I used a pressure washer at the petrol station and it took the dirt off much faster. I did use the hot water brush on black paint 😬 but it was super quick. So got me thinking about upgrading
Definitely upgrade mate these machines are terrible
Bought a K2 about 6 years ago. Got it for £60 at Homebase on sale. Lasted about 3 years before it packed in. Had my K4 now for 2 years £160 at Halfords. You can definitely tell a difference in quality between the 2.
Nice one thats a bargain. They definitely creeping up prices
Using the K2 atm and pressure is limited as i think 110bar isnt enough will be uprgrading to k7
k7 is very expensive mate. Try the xpert 7125 refurbished. Real money saver
@@epicautomotivedetailing great thankyou and great video!
Having owned two Karcher and one Nilfisk I’d recommend the Kranzle power washers.
Definitely. Im getting a kranzle soon
@@epicautomotivedetailing Good choice . I’ve the K10 with a short trigger and it’s brilliant and built to last.
At work I use a k4 and it seems the k2 is more powerful that’s probably because the k4 is a bit old now
Funny you say that I felt the same. Mind you the k4 I had was fairly used
@@epicautomotivedetailing yeh that’s the same with the one I use.
Thanks Karl. Yes totally agree you get what you pay for. I give it a few years and ill have my own brand of epic pressure washers out lol
@@jaseem7 your be alright with it then. It's just not suitable for constant use

If using it without a water tank, are you just relying on the water supply from a hose running from a domestic water tap?
Dave, do you run your equipment off a generator or tap up owner with an extension lead? Also do you top up your tank off customers water via hose or just use your own at night? Cheers buddy
Hi mate I fill up tank in morning if I know I can't get water. The tank is just there as a backup as all my clients are regular cleans so everyone has a tap so I plan around the jobs
Wonderful review. I got k3 recently and was disappointed that seeing the hose is not included in the bundle.
Can i ask after spraying shampoo how long should we wait before cleaning it?
You can pick up the K2 for under £70 now

Very happy. Is the lance that comes with it (cone shaped head) ok for car use?
Where? I'm looking at one in Homebase and it's £129

Great YT posts as liked n subbed here!!
I’ve had a K2 Karcher unit for few yrs now which I got cheap fr Tesco as doing a cheap deal at the time…abt £50
I’ve added extras from the Karcher Outlet place over the yrs too as great value compared to new prices in the retail shops….like the Karcher foam nozzle which is basic but was only £6 I think…not great and will look at the MJJC Canon Pro even tho it’s exp at £50 tho?? Got a patio lance cleaner too so will do for the decking n patio.
Have just ordered a longer hose too after reading the tips on here for this car detailing weekend warrior!!

@@epicautomotivedetailing thx mate for that info. Will make use of my Karcher FJ spray for now as I’m not using the spray nozzle that much and it was only £6 from the outlet so will do for now thx.
I love this pressure washer. I bought and extra hose to make it easier to get round the car.I wouldn't be without it.l xx
Nice one glad your getting on with it
I have just put this question on an earlier video but this is in the now zone. You have inspired me to buy a pressure washer taking all your pros and cons into account. Have you reviewed the Spear and Jackson 2000 watt which only seems available at Argos? It was recently recommended on the This Morning program.
Hello not tried it yet but will be taking a look now you mentioned it
Don’t know if I have just been unlucky but I’m on my third one in two years, they have just stopped working and karcher have replaced them. Only used to clean my cars
reliability is a huge issue with them mate. For that price a refurbished Karcher Xpert would of lasted longer, try karcher outlet
Next time try WD40 in both holes and let sit for a few minutes
Any good for thick moss??
Got a K2 , pain in the arse. Hose is coil fuckery and its so light that unrealing it or untangling it, or even running out of hose just causes it to fall over. Mine literally spends all its life on its side getting dragged around in a tangled mess lmao
Thanks for sharing I had a scene I removed because it Kept falling over. Didn't want people thinking it was rigged lol
Same🤣🤣
Hi Dave, great video, I agree with the comments, especially re the hose and safety aspects. I suggest that you try the Master series machines by AVA of Norway before you commit to your next machine. Get in touch if you want to try mine.
Ive heard about AVA. They look soild and i would love to try one
Hose, electric cable and gun hose, those are three things that I was dealing with while trying to clean the large patio and gave up!
